I live in the Uk so don't do live streams. However, I enjoy catching up when I can. Particularly liked the update on the mourning geckos and their vivarium. I also tried some babies tears but had limited success. Probably due to too me having too much leaf litter. I have a small fiscus plant in one of my viva which is doing well providing my baby anoles with plenty of climbing opportunities and basking spots.
I know I am late to this video, but I am planning to get mourning geckos soon, and your videos have been very helpful! I am buying the things I need for them slowly one item at a time as I research them so I will be really ready but I can't wait to go get them.
Langen and Animals Glad to hear that my videos have helped! I think it is great that you are doing the research and preparation first...always the best way to go! 🦎🦎🦎👍
Langen and Animals I hear you 👍 Experience is the best teacher. I researched for a long time before getting my mourning geckos, and have been so glad I did. 😊👍
Have you any experience keeping mourning geckos with dart frogs? I have a 18x18x36 with 3 cobalts. They rarely ever go to the canopy and was thinking about some geckos for movement up top.
Sandor Clegane I have tried it...some people do it with no problems, but I prefer not to, partly because the geckos tend to lay eggs up against the lid, and because they prefer less constant humidity than dart frogs. You could probably make it work though.
Jacob Gillispie My house temps vary throughout the year. In the winter, the lows are around 62-65 F. In the summer, the highs can get up to 78 or 80 sometimes. Since I use LEDS to light the Vivarium, the lights don’t add a lot of heat, so the temps in the Vivarium are similar to room temps. 👍
Aquarimax Pets thank you! I have a heat lamp for mine meant for nocturnal species and I just don’t want to over do it and also mine are around 5 months old and I know that they can start laying at 8 months and I don’t want to have hard cooked gecko eggs and I cut the lamp off every few hours just to play it safe...you said the Geckos are fine with household temp of 65 but what about the eggs?
I'm probably going to get 2 mourning geckos in a month or 2 and I'm wondering would they be good in an 8x8x12 for 4-5 months before I get a bigger enclosure? Also I'm not going to be keeping the eggs
tweakedroach69 How long have you had it? They often prefer to eat at night at first. I suggest making the diet mix on the watery side. That will often help.

You know stick and leaf insects are pretty cool too. I have 3 species.
MoreChannelNoise Definitely cool! Unfortunately, most are illegal in my area.

Bit late to your vid, but very helpfull, how did you secure the tubes to the top of the Viv?
mal numan Thank you! I use Nashua tape, a type of aluminum or Mylar tape. 👍
I know you said that Mourning Geckos are fine with lower temperatures it i was wondering how warm/cool is your set up

Jacob Gillispie the eggs can handle even cooler temps than the adults...they will just take a bit longer to hatch. 👍
Would you recommend having one mourning in an 30x30x45 terrarium or should i have two
Snoobsidie Br I would put two in...they are very social and would do best with the interaction. 😊👍
