In all of my 66 yeays, I have never seeen an operator use a shipping container to grade a road. Now that's what I call thinkin' outside the box! Lol! See what I did there? 😃
The algorithm is throwing up these old videos I've never seen before. It's amazing to see how much work you've done and far you've come. Massive Respect from New Zealand!
I had skipped this video thinking it wasn’t interesting for me. But now having watched it I’m impressed with your ingenuity. The two dozers took me by surprise.
Matt, My wife and I are from central Pa, and we both love watching your videos! Just this evening, we were wondering what to watch on Tv, and she said, " Let's watch Diesel Creek!" Keep up the great videos!
I have to admire you. Your the perfect example of the American dream. What someone can do given the opportunity to get ahead in life by believing in himself, taking some chances, and having some luck on his side. Life doesn't get any better than this. Look forward to your next taping.
Looking back now after two years of viewing and I'm impressed at how far your video technique has come. These are good videos but you definitely are more polished in your delivery now and your camera use is clever as can be! Always good to hear there's a new video from you, it's always a good one.
I think I would have built a simple axle with wheels that could be placed under the conex. Or built some runners from a pair of 6x6 timbers that ran front to back on each side. Using two dozers was a good idea. Too bad he couldn't help with that first one. Thanks for sharing the building of your shop with everyone. I know it adds a lot of work recording and editing the videos. And every one of those likes is acknowledgement of that extra work plus a big thank you for your taking this on.
How neat ! I would never have thought of using a shipping container and a log to level my driveway, but then I don't even have a shipping container or a bulldozer to move it around.
I was a nervous wreck watching you do this! I've seen the end result, and know you didn't lose anything, but when the newest one tilted, I about lost it! Had to remind myself - YOU DO GOOD WORK!
A truly herculean effort by everyone involved . You never give up - do you!! Looking forward to seeing the remainder of this build. Keep up the good work Matt!! Stay safe and well!
I love shipping containers, they're inexpensive ready built buildings. I also use a 24ft van body off of a cargo truck for firewood storage right next to my outdoor wood broiler. Perfect for keeping the snow off and easy to toss in the burner. They also make racking that you can hang shelves in the storage containers. Look at the loops around the top edge to hang them. You're handy enough to build what you need because they can be expensive, but I got lucky and had a container delivered with half a load of the brackets. They never checked the container when it was leaving apparently. Freebies for me.
Hi my name is Kelly and I lived just outside Marietta ,Ohio so I know that part of beautiful country always loved fall when the leaves change color but didn't care for the red clay. Just wanted to say that I love the hillbilly ingenuity. Nicely done
The stepping out to the edge to look at the back; when the dozer walks on.. that's cool..And, man I'd blurr out the complete video with a help like that
I love your work ethic young man. I wish you'd give your first name when you start your videos then I can mention you by name in my posts. Can't wait for updates on your container barn and the church project. Again, you're one hard working dude.
You need a set of those magnet mirrors so when you doing a long reversing move like this moving a shipping container or something like it the magnet mirrors would make life simple
I’m Impressed with the log solution and the fact that you did this on your own and made a video . I just wish I had married someone like you . He just doesn’t do manual work or has any logic when doing any job so I’m glad he gave up trying to . I’ve always worked with practical men as the only girl in the sound department I am now one of their bosses . As usual I have to go through the challenge ‘ can she do the job’ . Only the other week I had to prove that I can still swing a boom . It’s just technique , you don’t have to be a body builder or look like a bloke . My husband and is a big producer so he does all the big decision making and the more I hear it sounds like he is fitting in quite well with all the ‘lovies’ who creep around him just looking for their next job . In fact two girlies are taking him out for dinner this weekend so he can’t come up north to celebrate my birthday . To be honest I’d rather be part of a day like yours than listen to them hanging on his every word .
Catching up on earlier videos - so much work. Just that one log dragging in the dirt did way better than I would ever have imagined! (Dunno know if commenting on older videos helps the ratings - hope so since I'll be watching whatever I can find!)
The best tip i know of for moving shopping containers is two have two old truck axles or steel tube with wheel hubs welded onto them and chain and binder or ratchet strap them to the far end lifting twist lock pocket so you have a 40ft trailer with wheels at each end and attach a chain onto the lower front twist lock pockets
I know, here I am from the future again but they make wheels that clip into the hold down mounts in the lower corners then you just drag it like a trailer, sorta. That's how we just moved a couple of ours across the yard.
I'm quite sure, you could get one in the UK, we had a smaller one at the Scouts way back in the 80's in Rotterdam. Although I never seen the rig-truck and trailer here as well, but hey, murica.
Done this with 40 footers a few times, don't restrain roller log, container rolls over top as long or post rolls along ground, quick ,easy, no hassles Container is only about 3.5 ton all up, so easy to lift 1 end , pop roller log or post under, move 30 to 35 feet, repeat process,if you have a couple of rollers or more you don't have to relift each step, just run continually I've done this with a little tired 1.5 ton forklift, small tractors whatever Final positioning is easier if the 40 footer is rocking over a roller for most of the transition, get one end right, then find tune the last end. cheers
In the future if you ever do that again. Get you a mobile home axle. Widen it out so the container will sit down on the axle tube. You may have to strengthen it Abit. But for off-road moving your not going fast anyhow. So it should hold up. The hook your dozer on the other end and tow it like a trailer
Pretty amazing how them dozers just pull with what looks like very little effort. I would have tried to made up some kinda wheel hub and welded wheels to the back side but log works just as good with less effort. Nice one👍
Hey watching you move the 40 foot container just a suggestion for next time notice you pickup with log I suggest that you make 2 axesals one for either side you can slip under and tow it around 😉 😜
Looking at the 2 boxes with the roof joist never thought of the concrete blocks for footers that's a slick idea wondering if you sloped the boxes for drainage off the top or if your going to extend the roof over the boxes. Then my wife walks in and got to explain to her what I'm watching and what your doing. We like it !!!
That’s awesome! Mine has no interest and she lives here haha... the boxes are sloped out and foreword so any water that may get in runs to the door. I’m not extending the roof, Ill keep light materials up there like pvc pipe
Can’t believe that your wife has no interest. Tell her from me that she is a very lucky woman to have such a capable husband. I find your videos fascinating, guess I just like to watch real men work hard ;)
I was thinking you could put a roof over the space in the middle and you exceeded my thoughts. Good planning and work. I like your videos as much as letsdig18.
I think I would have grabbed the rear end of a truck and fabricobled a container trailer with it. But the rear wheels under one end, use the dozer to lift and pull the other end. The diff in the rear axel will eliminate slipping between the two wheels. and them being wheels would prevent the gouging off the ground.
That a nice bit of 'furniture' moving there, I do like that idea of using those containers as part of your 'new' building. Very interesting and entertaining video too. I'm glad I subscribed.
Cool! Nice to see an old slope-hood Gravely walk behind tractor! I had a 56 Model L but unfortunately lost it when my old barn burned. Hope to soon be getting an older LI tho....
Hi I'm diego From buenos aires city Argentina The south end of america I see every one of your videos Keep uploading videos dude I see you Good job in your auto tuned land😉 Keep posting things
I moved my 20 footer a couple hundred feet down a slope with my Chevy 2500. :-P. Next I have 2 of them I will be placing a distance apart and putting a roof over them. To move them this time I will winch them by hand. I will place them on logs to roll them and also use snatch blocks.
Good for you being creative and knowing how to make stuff happen with that you have. I’m far to lazy and much prefer to pull leavers lol good luck with your project and thanks for watching!
Love the video, hate the noise of distorted guitars all the time. We either fast forward past it or have to keep turning it down. You don't need it at all.
Im chuckling at the gravely in the shipping container. If you collect gravely's you seem to find them with out looking lol. Looks easy on vid, but know it was a couple hour job dragging them back into place
That’s the only gravely I have but can see why people collect them, stout little machine. Got that maybe 3 years ago and only used it once or twice.. thinking it will be useful around fence line
If you only had the use of a totally flat deck trailer you could slip it underneath the back end and pull it around as if the whole thing was a trailer. Maybe even bolt on a temporary trailer tongue to the front. You could reuse these temporary parts to move or position conex boxes for other people. $ Or get those motorized things they use for moving or positioning portable buildings.
I just found this gem of video. My question is when moving these containers why are you not using a long length axle to move these? All you will need is an old mobile home axle lengthened to out side of container and no dragging on ground or damaged under carriage, just a thought..
On a positive note, you have the machinery to move them around, and a neighbor who helps out, with his crawler no less... (Length of the video was just fine.)
That lift trailer is so Cool Matt 3:38 😎 @Diesel Creek
In all of my 66 yeays, I have never seeen an operator use a shipping container to grade a road.
Now that's what I call thinkin' outside the box! Lol! See what I did there? 😃
I'd call that a smooth delivery.
Not gonna lie this made me chuckle a bit
Very nice Conex Box Matt 1:00 @Diesel Creek
The algorithm is throwing up these old videos I've never seen before.
It's amazing to see how much work you've done and far you've come.
Massive Respect from New Zealand!
Same for me love these older videos I'm watching it 4 years later never seen the older ones
I had skipped this video thinking it wasn’t interesting for me. But now having watched it I’m impressed with your ingenuity. The two dozers took me by surprise.
Excellent music choice, as always 😂!!!
Thanks! And thank the Semi-Supervillains for making the music for the video!
Matt,

Nothing like a good neighbor who can lend a hand when you need it
Looks like you got yourself a good neighbor .
He’s a dang good neighbor. Just doesn’t want his face on the internet and I understand that
Looking back now after two years of viewing and I'm impressed at how far your video technique has come. These are good videos but you definitely are more polished in your delivery now and your camera use is clever as can be! Always good to hear there's a new video from you, it's always a good one.
June 5, 2021, binge-watching Diesel Creek. It's going to be a good day.
Matt, it's impressive how far you've come, how much your channel has grown. I'm doing a binge watch of all your videos. ❤
I think I would have built a simple axle with wheels that could be placed under the conex. Or built some runners from a pair of 6x6 timbers that ran front to back on each side.

I must say seeing this. This is thinking outside the box.
Timestamp ~13:06 ... Okay, now THAT was a clever solution for dragging that shipping container along. I learned something from social media. Nice!
It's fun to go back and watch how far you've come with this property. It's a hell of a lot of work but it sure is worth it for your own place eh?
Your vids are never too long in my opinion. I enjoy them immensely.
Great job at putting hour new Conex-Box on the farm and in its new home!
Well done, Matt!
How neat ! I would never have thought of using a shipping container and a log to level my driveway, but then I don't even have a shipping container or a bulldozer to move it around.
Impressive, and you’re doing all this by yourself. Kudos to you.
P++
I was a nervous wreck watching you do this! I've seen the end result, and know you didn't lose anything, but when the newest one tilted, I about lost it! Had to remind myself - YOU DO GOOD WORK!
2.10, It is really nice having a great neighbor to assist you when needed. Prayers for him and his family. be safe... k
Great job man moving shipping containers perseverance wins the day matt great work and video son 💯👍🏻🇬🇧
It’s amazing what one person is capable of with brains and the right equipment..!
Brilliant video, Matt. I love the way that you solved the logistical problems involved with those moves. Genius, sir.
We had our first snowfall yesterday Oct 24, thus it is a good time to watch some of Matt’s earlier classic videos. Cheers from 🇨🇦
Nice to have good neighbors.
A truly herculean effort by everyone involved . You never give up - do you!! Looking forward to seeing the remainder of this build. Keep up the good work Matt!! Stay safe and well!
It's amazing what you accomplish normally by yourself.
You do an Amazing job considering you are doing everything by yourself! I am trying to catch each video you have!! Again, awesome job!!

I know it's a little late, but you would be amazed at how well things skid on a car/truck hood! Moved many HUGE rocks that way!
The stepping out to the edge to look at the back; when the dozer walks on.. that's cool..And, man I'd blurr out the complete video with a help like that
Not too many people in this world could say “today i took a 40’ container for a drive thru the woods”. Great job.
I love your work ethic young man. I wish you'd give your first name when you start your videos then I can mention you by name in my posts. Can't wait for updates on your container barn and the church project. Again, you're one hard working dude.
Thanks a lot! Matt is my name. Plenty more on both coming soon!

Jeez Mat, things have moved on in two years eh? Well done fella, keep it up.

Such great ideas you had to move the container. You are really a smart guy, Matt. I love how you think.
I know, here I am from the future again but they make wheels that clip into the hold down mounts in the lower corners then you just drag it like a trailer, sorta. That's how we just moved a couple of ours across the yard.
...not that long. It was worth it watching a genius at work...
Very interesting thank you
We don’t have things like this in the uk, thank you for putting on you tube
Thank you for watching!
I'm quite sure, you could get one in the UK, we had a smaller one at the Scouts way back in the 80's in Rotterdam. Although I never seen the rig-truck and trailer here as well, but hey, murica.
I hadn't seen this before you had the containers, great job.

I moved that gray one like that when I got it about 5 years ago. Got it into position with just my skid loader
If I had to pay, I could never afford this - entertainment? - knowledge? - Appreciation!
G'day mate. Awesome work buddy .bloody hard worker should be more blokes like you .great channel buddy thanks 👍👍🇦🇺🇦🇺
Two jobs at once.
Moved the container and scraped your road!
Graded your road with that drag.. nice. Cool toys you have there.
Very nice purpose built trailer that delivered your new conex box
Thank you!!
Pretty cool maneuvering!!
Thank you for not "Flintstoning" the second one back there!
Its guys like you that give me faith America will be okay. Thanks.
Also, I think Hoeculeeze needs a big shout out again!!! I love that thing.
Your projects are awesome
In the future if you ever do that again. Get you a mobile home axle. Widen it out so the container will sit down on the axle tube. You may have to strengthen it Abit. But for off-road moving your not going fast anyhow. So it should hold up. The hook your dozer on the other end and tow it like a trailer
Looks like the start of a good shop.
I hope! Thanks for watching!
Pretty amazing how them dozers just pull with what looks like very little effort. I would have tried to made up some kinda wheel hub and welded wheels to the back side but log works just as good with less effort. Nice one👍
Also like how you rigged that chain on the log to keep it from moving.
Hey watching you move the 40 foot container just a suggestion for next time notice you pickup with log I suggest that you make 2 axesals one for either side you can slip under and tow it around 😉 😜
I’ll say one thing you accomplish a lot as a one man band kudos to you
You don’t need a grader when you can drag a ConX box.
I want one of those trailers :)
That delivery was slicker than snot on a doorknob!
he was pretty good. I didnt blame him for not getting it through the gate!
Looking at the 2 boxes with the roof joist never thought of the concrete blocks for footers that's a slick idea wondering if you sloped the boxes for drainage off the top or if your going to extend the roof over the boxes. Years later, the container is still not painted. Lol
Cool idea and great execution of it.
Love the long videos
I was thinking you could put a roof over the space in the middle and you exceeded my thoughts. Good planning and work. I like your videos as much as letsdig18.
Some pretty high praises! Thanks for watching!!
Wow really nice shop your have
Thank you, hope you subscribe!

Reg Sparkes glad you like it! Thanks for watching!
If you like that, you will love this; ruclips.net/p/PLgUGfzMeW6jJJia9BkDj1xOn9CQn3c9-W
I thought you were going to dig into the stones but you made a great job of this.
I believe your neighbor is in the witness protection program. 😎
Cool! Nice to see an old slope-hood Gravely walk behind tractor! I had a 56 Model L but unfortunately lost it when my old barn burned. Hope to soon be getting an older LI tho....
They are great old machines!
very nice job. love to have that set up at my place.
Hi

Keep uploading videos dude
I see you
Good job in your auto tuned land😉
Keep posting things
It’s looking great

What a diffence a (second) dozer makes! Possible country song.
Hahaha
Cool video showing your dozer front and rear.
Nice work man!!!
Great job not every neighbor has his own bull dozer to be able to help ! My cousin had his own cane to set his two up .
ive been looking for one lol
Hats off to you.
I like the way you think !
I pulled my 40 footer with a Chevy 2500 wish I had that video
That would have been something! Chevys can barely pull themselves!! Haha just playing, thanks for watching!
Working alone like I do you have to figure out everything and how it's going to end up BUT in the end it's sooo much more satisfying. Don't you think
Absolutely!
outside the box thinking - genius - way to move big stuff
Love the video, hate the noise of distorted guitars all the time. We either fast forward past it or have to keep turning it down. You don't need it at all.
You'd think a guy with a specialized trailer who does that every day, would be a little better at backing them up!
Im chuckling at the gravely in the shipping container. If you collect gravely's you seem to find them with out looking lol. Looks easy on vid, but know it was a couple hour job dragging them back into place

Just had this video pop up for viewing today! Makes me wonder how Fred and Barney got their log axles to roll??
WOW, a one man band
new member -- good work & good videos -- best regards from french guiana !
So that's how they moved them pyramids in Egypt, always wondered.
you should of used a set of trailer tandem wheels to make your travel easier and control
On a positive note, you have the machinery to move them around, and a neighbor who helps out, with his crawler no less...
(Length of the video was just fine.)
