We're back! More videos coming very soon, and don't worry, we'll continue all the series we are in the midst of here on the channel (indiana jones, back to the future, mcu)! We also now have a website where you will be able to easily find the reaction and full length videos you are looking for: whitesockcinemaclub.com The website is still under construction and is missing some videos, and our patreon is still missing a couple of full length videos but all of that is getting filled in the upcoming weeks! Glad to be back and hope you enjoy!
"Killian! I'll be back!" "Only in a rerun." What is lost in seeing this now instead of when this came out, is that Richard Dawson was the host of Family Feud (1976) and only ended his hosting duties two years before this movie came out. People were taken aback by Dawson's heel turn in this movie as an evil game show host. While Arnold Schwarzenegger was the biggest draw, most people remember this for when Richard Dawson shocked his long time fans. Fun Fact: Arnold Schwarzenegger and Richard Dawson are real life lifelong friends. Dance Enthusiast Fact: The big dance number at the start of the fictional show, was choreographed by Paula Abdul. Music Enthusiast Fact: Erland van Lidth was an Olympic wrestler and classically trained Helden baritone opera singer, where he sings "The Marriage Of Figaro" aria for real. Wrestling Enthusiast Fact: Although credited as simply Subzero, the character is introduced as Professor Subzero by announcer Phil Hilton. Professor Subzero is played by Professor Toru Tanaka. It is worth noting that Tanaka's title of Professor is not from a post-doctorate academic rank, but rather from the wrestling name the actor went under in his wrestling career from the 1960's through the 1980's (sometimes shortened to Professor Tanaka).
Dawson is, from what I remember, 1 of 2 actors who basically had a comeback to Arnies "I'll be back". The only other I can think of is Bruce Willis in Expendables 2.
I liked the line "It's showtime" when Richards comes back, and that music starts playing. I got a movie reaction for you to react to its one of my favorites, The Final Countdown (1980) The U.S.S. Nimitz goes back to December 6th, 1941. It's filmed on the Nimitz. It's like Top Gun meets Back to the Future.
The guy wearing the red beret with the resistance is Dweezil Zappa (Son of Frank Zappa) and the tall balding resistance leader is Mick Fleetwood as in Fleetwood Mac
I think the hyped-up grandma was actually a smirk to the American phenomenon of elderly women being big fans of pro wrestling in the 80s and earlier. Captain Freedom was played by Jesse Ventura, who was a wrestling superstar. And both Jesse and Arnold went on to become state Governors. If you aren't familiar with the U.S. political system, state Governors are some of the most powerful elected officials in the country.
13:25 Because we used to live in a world where people weren't afraid of language. We're closer by far to this reality when we were in 1987, when this film was made. Whenever you feel the urge to self-censor, rememeber that you cannot comply your way out of a dictatorship.

Welcome back!
Glad to see you back and continuing with Arnold films 😁😁
If you didn't know, Richard Dawson (Killian) was the long time host of the game show Family Feud.
And one of the POWs in 'Hogan's Heroes.' (but I grok why you mentioned 'Family Feud' for this reaction)

28:17 Why does he have so many good comebacks? Making movies used to be fun and a lot of Arnie's better stuff was when he was having fun.
You're fun to watch and your conversation is interesting. Glad you're back.
Nice to see you guys back!
My favorite - Dynamo played by Erland Van Lidth, a Dutch-American actor, wrestler...and opera singer!
Welcome back

And it's still got a morale story at the heart of it. All wrapped up in under 2hrs.

Why did no one tell me they have come back from their vacation?? See I knew they would come back!
Yay your back
Александра,ты случайно не из России?
Arnie's one-liners in this movie are iconically cringe.
How can you watch this movie if you keep phasing it up every 10 seconds watching this is a waste of time
