With the insincerity and self-centered crap 💩 of today's artist's and music 🎶... they couldn't hold a candle to the traditionalists and true 👌 pioneers of country music 🎼...Lefty Frizzell is a prime example of many that had it... bring back traditional country it stands the test of time 💯👌 .

My dad played with him in Verona, Pennsylvania 1961. I was only 5, but I’ll never forget playing with my friends while they did music together. I have 6 boxes of pictures from back then that is hard to go through, and I know there is a picture of them. My dad played every instrument, but mainly his Mandolin, which I gave to one of my cousins so he’ll learn to play. Thanks for the wonderful memories ♥️

Now a days they make too much money, travel in million-dollar air conditioned bus, and have one number one hit and retire. In the old days 16 hour rides from one job to the next in an old station wagon with the bass tied on top of the vehicle. Might make a few hundred bucks and then have to travel a couple thousand miles to get back to Nashville for the Grand Ole Opry on Saturday. Tom T Hall said for his first number one hit he made $3,000. Having one of today's so-called country music stars singing about about hard times is like having Madonna sing about virginity.

let's take our hats off to Mark Chestnutt's cover of this. It almost that you have to be from Texas to get the metre of this tune and hold the emotion. Mark got it in his cover .
after Lefty....Mark . on this one.

Can you imagine one of these male " country singer's " today saying how it tears them up to see a grown man cry ? Today they just want to sing about there pickup and all the other stereotypes. No other music gets out emotion like old country

Amen! "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" is the most obscene country recording of the 21st century!

Darla Haines: No, that song is early-2000s country. A better example of the stereotypical country music is pretty much country music after maybe 2010 or so, though definitely also some in the past 5 years.

I sure do miss the 70s and 80s. The music🎷 today is not even the same. Sometimes I wish I could find a time machine and go back in time. Life was much easier and everyone enjoyed life! Is this your favorite song?

I had the privilege of meeting his brother Allen and getting to watch him perform at our local cowboy church a couple years back and he sounded just like lefty.

He was a great singing talent. So many wonderful songs from him. Shame he messed his life up so badly.
