So who wired that in wrong ? It appears you have reverse for forward and forward for reverse !

Hi I just double checked the video and the spindle is running the correct way.

@@GoodwinTechnologyLtd I believe it's UP for forward and out & DOWN for reverse - the out being to prevent accidentally getting reverse.

Hi Pmailkeey It's definitely down for forward on the Colchester triumph.

@@GoodwinTechnologyLtd I've been looking at other vids - and it seems others are that way too ! So may be it was the first one I saw wired incorrectly ?? !!!!
Another thing that puzzles me is that it is said the headstock control only starts the lathe in one direction but I see no reason it'll go either way. What's your take on that ?

Hi Pmailkeey I always check phase rotation on the Triumph because its critical for the oil pump.

You got your motor wiring backwards lol it's spinning wrong way round

Hi Big bot the wiring is correct if your lathe is spinning the opposite way I would recommend reversing it. Another viewer said the same thing in the comments below but I can assure you the lathe is running the correct way. When you push the handle down the chuck runs counter clockwise when viewed from the tailstock end. Best Regards Darren Goodwin
