The price is amazing. The largest cut is just $62. In Washington, D.C., the Prime Rib Restaurant's regular cut of 14oz is over $70. Their full cut is well over $100 a la carte.
I live in SF now, But when I used to live in DC I went to Medium Rare in Cleveland Park for a prix fix of bread, salad and two servings of steak with fries for $20.00 bro! (now is $30.00) but worth every penny.
@babikecap That's for flank/hanger steak. It's a less expensive cut of beef. That's why Medium Rare can charge that price. It's not the rib part of the beef. The Prime Rib also serves prime beef. But not worth the price as it no longer tastes good. I've dined there since the 90s.
@@sinbatsiraseranant1241 I know, I've dined at both quite often. But taking everything into consideration, Medium Rare is a best bang for your buck restaurant.
I can't buy a thick cut porterhouse steak in Canada without paying that. And a prime rib roast (a REAL prime rib) probably 150 raw and you have to go to the German butcher and order it. And to think I'm surrounded by RANCHES with lots of European cattle!!!
Was there two weeks ago (3-2-24) and the food was awesome. Next time I’m in San Francisco to visit my daughter I plan to do it again. Just be aware of the spicy horseradish sauce, it will literally take your breath away for a long while and I love hot spicy stuff but this stuff is lethal. Just a side note; San Francisco is just as beautiful as ever so don’t pay attention to the stories of homeless everywhere and poop on the sidewalks, go see for yourself, San Francisco is no different from any other big city as far as homeless people go. All big cities have similar issues with traffic and homelessness.
I’ve been living in the Bay Area for more than 20 years and have only ate there less than handful of times. It’s so hard to get a reservation. Place is constantly booked. But the food and service is amazing. Probably better than some of the high end steakhouses I’ve eaten at. It’s reasonably priced and consistent. If you haven’t eaten here, you owe it to yourself to check it out.
Oh man that looks so super duper buttery, fatty, mouth watering beef! I cannot afford these type of splurges but watching some one else eating it is almost as satisfying. Thank you for the 5 minutes of drooling!
The best place to eat Prime Rib in town, I have been there twice this week and was Christmas eve when I went and now eating the salad (take home) watching this video ...lol I may go again tonite.
Wow! If I ever visit San Francisco, House of Prime Rib would definitely be a place I want to eat! I just recently got back from Las Vegas and ate at Lawry's Prime Rib, They have a similar presentation and tableside service with the spinning bowl salad, and the prime rib setup. Prime rib is so good!
No they don't. This place has a similar "setup" to Lawrys. The invented that cart and the spinning salad AND valet parking AND the doggie bag AND they've been doing it for about 20 years longer
Holy Moly, everything looks so amazing. I love me some prime rib with the classic sides. That said, I could easily make a meal outta that salad and the bread. Cheers
I just wish I liked prime rib more. I don’t dislike it, I just like other cuts more. It looks like a great dining experience and that salad looked amazing. I’m sur3 the prime rib was great.
The best cut in my experience is the English Cut-- several thinly slices pieces swimming in au jus, not a single slab. The salad is worth a special trip on its own.
does any one know ? Is a 16 oz piece of MEDIUM WELL prime rib available ???? Even if it is 100 or 150 dollars..... is this kind of CUT available ????? Or is the 12 oz KING CUT the largest ???? THANK YOU
I have to Say 😊 Your Video or This Dinner looked Absolutely Amazing ❤. Great Job I’m making this Prime Rib Dinner at Home right Now for 4- People. Total Cost $60 ✅. $15 each Baked Potato Creamed Spinach Gravy Sweet Hawaiian Rolls Cheers 🥂 🇺🇸🇬🇧😎
Back in the day when I actually use to visit San Franshitsco (as in back in the 90's), my friends and I dined there. It was a good experience food wise, about on par with eating at Lawry's. But what stood out is I mentioned to our server that I had a dog and would like to bring home a couple of extra bones. Next thing I know is he brings out a friggin box full of them - no extra charge. Will always remember that nice gesture. Too bad the city itself sucks, that restaurant deserve better.
Oh my goodness my mouth is actually watering! Maybe it's just the video, but that restaurant is WAY too noisy for me. That noise level on the video would actually make my meal unenjoyable and send me home with a headache.
you made my point. hard surfaces need things like tapestry to trap the noise. I advised a remodel of a coffee shop and they went anyway with all hard surfaces. my ears are bleeding in there.
@@SB-tl7zzIll be honest, I used to think that way too but over time Ribeye (prime rib) has just lost its appeal. Its too fatty to get properly rare. The fat is either not truly rendered, or the meat isnt properly cooked. I have had plenty of dissapointing ribeyes. Meanwhile Ney York Strip as humble as it is has neber dissapointed me.
I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant due to its history. You did a great job capturing the dining experience, brava Jenny!👏🏼

Keep up this style of videography. Lovely videos. Feels like i'm there in person and i can watch this stuff for hours on end
i've eaten there a number of times and watching this video has given me a hankering to visit soon!
I am watching this waiting for my home delivery to arrive.
I've added this restaurant to my food bucket list now!
Hope you'll be able to dine there soon!
I live up the street. I haven’t been in over a year. I need to get it on my calendar.

Good food & entertaining staff! Your video was making me hungry. SF best for 🥩 with all the trimmings. 😃💯
The filmography and editing are excellent! Subscribed,

I’ve been there several years ago, and totally miss it…no excuse though as I literally live just across the Bay Bridge🤷🏻♂️😍😋🔥
Gawd I love those crusty sourdough boules with the butter...yum
Looks delicious. Nice and red/pink. Yum
You can get an organic grass fed beef on sale for $4.99/lb. Just add salt and pepper and grill for 3 mins. each side.

Bread and i mean any bread is always so much better with a big slab of butter
Thats a very nice restsurant
The food looks good

Agree! Love the salad!
Do they still serve Yorkshire pudding?
My favorite prime rib! 😊
Dang I need to hit up HPR
if you're wondering it it's really that loud in there, yes, it's even louder in person lmao
Looks dang good
Very cool. 🙌🙌🙌🙌
Ok, Iived in the south bay for a couple years now, and i want to take my dad there now, how far out are reservations? do i just call?
They book out months ahead, so I recommend just giving them a call. Good luck on the reservation!
I can taste everything just by watching and oh man it’s so delicious ❤❤❤❤

Is the blood the sauce ?
Thank you
What were the best sides? Going in May!
Definitely the mashed potato! You could even do mashed potato loaded style too!
Bucket list for me.
It doesnt look that full but the noise is pretty crazy lol
Typically, I capture the ambiance early, before most guests arrives, although the restaurant is packed every night
Where is this restaurant?
It's in San Francisco! The address is provided in the description
This place was great after a another big Niner win at the Stick.

Looks yummy, but the noise! Arggh!
No Yorkshire Pudding?
How is this different from Lawrey’s.
Maybe location? HOPR is here in San Francisco only, and Lawry's is in Los Angeles (and elsewhere)?😅
😋😋😋
Oh yah .. oh yah I’m on !! Lol 😂
There’s still an open restaurant in San Francisco?
Well like a lot of large cities, the good areas are good and the bad areas are bad
@@ThriftyCHNR no. SF was a truly great city. It’s been completely flushed down the toilet 🚽
@@keithss67 What i'm saying is i bet the rich people areas are still nice.
@@ThriftyCHNR well good for them. But the rest of the city is falling apart
Is it still lasagna outside?
Soaked up the Jus. Au Jus (with juice)
San Francisco sour dough bread, there's simply no better!
A classic for sure!
Your vlogs are unique and realistic 😍👍🏻✨
Thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear that!
Is that a fancy restaurant or an all you can eat canteen?
It's clear that the people commenting about the beef negatively don't know what the fuck they are talking about. pure luxury in that prime rib.
Amazing place, but the meat seems be cold, isn't it?
I like mine 'rare' so it's only slightly warm, but the prime rib always comes in the perfect temperature as requested
120 degrees internal temp equals rare.......
Prime rib pairs well with wasabi
This might be my dieing wish❤❤
Did the steak talk to you?

And the bones, have hella meat on them!
Pintamos toda la casa ESTA VIVO !!! jajajaja
So who did it first, Lawry’s or House of Prime Rib because everything looks exactly the same.
Only problem is it’s in SF 0:34
The food looks great, but the plating looks a bit sloppy.
I tried to eat prime rib for Christmas and it just looks and tastes like a plate of raw steak to me, my dog loved it.
Oh my goodness my mouth is actually watering! Maybe it's just the video, but that restaurant is WAY too noisy for me. That noise level on the video would actually make my meal unenjoyable and send me home with a headache.
Wonder how any restaurant is able to turn a profit in California especially San Fran!!!!
Would love to be a waiter here but I’m guessing somebody needs to die for their to be an opening
Look at how slovenly and sloppily the chef plated up. Zero care. Appears dated; for the money, better options exist.
Warning....... don't fill up on the salad.
ฉันชอบสลัดมากๆ ❤❤
could it possibly be any louder? i mean its like a metallica concert in there.
you made my point. hard surfaces need things like tapestry to trap the noise. I advised a remodel of a coffee shop and they went anyway with all hard surfaces. my ears are bleeding in there.
The waiter was very sloppy preparing the salad
that rib cart looks kinda ghetto ..IMHO
WOW is this place still open since gavin newsom shut down and all the crime in the area??
Slop served with some nice looking beef.
the chef must haved experience in penetentiary he serve like one..
okay, it looks incredible, but man, is that place NOISY or what??
❤E
They ruined the sides with gravy on the whole plate. Mixed into the corn and creamed spinach.
San Francisco institution
I prefer T-Bone; prime rib is too bland.
Exactly..I think people are taken by the name. Oooh prime rib!
It's a ribeye. Way better than ny strip n filet(tbone)

Looks quite a bit like Lawry's
How have you reviewed every restaurant we want to go to whether it is America Japan or even Hong Kong Wtf
What a coincidence! Hopefully my videos will help you in some ways!
@@jennyfoodtravels they are very helpful! Do you also use tabelog or only the Michelin guide to find good restaurants?
@@lsrfmkev I use Tabelog, World's 50 Best, and other guides as well
beautiful. i hate all the franchises in america
The waiter wasted at least 10% of the lettuce salad. The guy at the cutting station looks like they got him off a all you can eat buffet line
4.2%. And the carver was fine.
😊😊😊😊😊
Stop exaggerating
Jealous troll. Just make yourself another Hot Pocket.
10% of that salad would be like $0.68 of food waste. If you are worried about that, you clearly have never spent time in a restaurant kitchen.
Do diners really like blood-rare Prime Rib that is undercooked and gelatinous ???!!! That meat is seriously unappetizing !!!
It's medium rare, you're just not used to eating a steak that's cooked evenly from end to end. Go have a burger, then.
Prime rib is mid AF and for $60-I would rather have a nice seared steak.
Bloody as a murder scene
how that 'chef' plated the beef and the sides disgusted me when i'm gonna pay $50 for that canteen like food...
They don't need your business, Bubba.
Congratulations on producing a terrible video, keep up the bad work.
By the way, do something about the background noise.
I want a paper thin meat please
That meat needs to be cooked.
mmmmm Served with all the style and grace of a US Army mess hall........no thanks Ill pass
Too bad it’s in San Francisco
the way things are going here and the broken economy ,videos like this will be a distant memory and remind us of what we didnt vote for in 2024
Americans go hard for gimmicky trash restaurants huh
Euro trash
Guy cutting meat throwing his serving utensils around. If you hate your job you have no one to blame but your damn self guy
As noisy as it is you might as well be at a Texas Roadhouse retaurant....sad.
The meat was raw and the area is filthy.
OORRR, you have no clue what you're talking about.
so was your mom
I just can not eat raw beef
Good thing it isn't raw

Sloshing “gravy” on everything including the vegetables is not what a steak house does
huh?
It's called "au jus", not "gravy", and it's standard to serve with prime rib.
Meh...Prime rib s not up there on my taste list. And the mashed potatoes looked kind of soupy for my taste...I'll pass.
cool story bud.
