      You are so welcome! And I don’t see why you couldn’t use the same process - natural or straight. After a good blow dry, the only difference I see is perhaps having your iron at a higher heat and having the right heat protectant/products for your hair to achieve the same “pressed” results.

    Hi Dolce Dawn, Your hair is always so gorgeous. 🤩😍 You do an awesome job every time I see you. I've been hanging around in the shadows admiring how you're doing such an amazing job with your relaxed hair. I'm also recovering from a setback myself and I'm on month 10 into my texlax stretch although I just after 30 years of relaxing and texlaxing found out that my natural virgin new growth is almost identical to my texlaxed texture. I only found this out last week because while doing 2-2 month protective styles, I washed my hair with my cornrows installed so I didn't see my actual texture. I'm rambling, but I wanted to know if you are able to show the boxing for your Theorie Quantum flat iron, all of the contents and how you turn it on and set the temperature? I recently found one and it's not quite delivered yet, but I'm noticing that there's supposed to be a special way to set the temperature for the Theorie Quantum irons. Boy did I have to haggle to get them at $129.60. The seller wanted about $177. I see how well they work for you and I believe our density is similar while relaxed. I still have 3 more months to go on my stretch, but I'm hopeful to have made progress after cutting my hair to as you say, "The white meat". I know I still have a ways to go, but you are certainly keeping me encouraged because there aren't many of us relaxed Ladies left. 🤷🏽‍♀️ May God bless you and keep you in perfect health, peace and prosperity.
    Sincerely Yours,
    Eurlee

    • @DolceDawn
      @DolceDawn  2 года назад +1

      Hey, Eurlee! Thank you! 🤗 Good job getting the seller to lower the price on the Theorie iron. I think I may still have the box, but I would have to look for it. In the meantime, I do have pictures of the iron, its packaging as well as how to turn it on listed in a post on my blog (dolcescloset.blogspot.com). To turn on the digital iron, you just press and hold the ON button until it chimes and it will automatically heat up to 310 degrees F. To turn up the heat, you would tap the “+”, ON button then “-“ , which will unlock the set heat, then press “+” as many times as you need until you reach your desired heat. Hope this helps and congrats on scoring the iron! May God continue to bless and keep you. ♥️

      Thank you so much beautiful. Yes, it took days to get an agreed price on those Theorie Quantum flat irons and there's only 1 pair left. I can only hope to achieve the length strides you are making in record time with your crown. 👑💞 I forgot to mention that I am a Certified Cosmetologist since 1998. I have no idea why I stopped renewing my License, but I guess life can do that when you change professions. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I've been told that I have, "Growing Hand's", so I can admire anyone who is able to truthfully spread knowledge concerning ethnic hair care and achieve visible results in almost real time. There are a lot of professional's as well as every day people sharing info about ethnic hair and I am blessed to have stumbled on your page. 🙏 You are well spoken and your personality is everything. 🥰😉 I guess all who are subscribed to your channel are spoiled because we know you're going to give your 4 week check in and your 8 week relaxer update regularly. 💞 Your updates keep me paced at what a typical schedule of a regular client who is consistently and faithfully coming to a shop is what caught my attention. As a matter of fact, at one point in the height of my career as a Hairstylist, I had at least 30-35 clients coming through between Thursday and Sunday. I know it was God that aided me to be able to keep up because 6 clients would arrive at one time as walk-in's and I would get them done quickly and efficiently and close with, "More Hair!". The care and attention you give your crown 👑 is awesome and is what first attracted me to the study of Cosmetology. I wanted to learn how to grow, maintain and retain length on all ethnic heads of hair. You are my reminder of why I entered this field. Sometimes us professionals lose our way and become discouraged despite always being told how much you are admired by family and friends. 🤦🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️ My desire was not to charge an arm and a leg in order to empower anyone who cared enough to seek help in maintaining a healthy head of hair and scalp. At times your worth seems undervalued as a stylist because your loved one's and friend's may sometimes feel entitled to your expertise at all times, despite patronizing other stylists regularly and then expecting you to do their hair for the low low or a discounted price just because they know you personally. I guess that was my reasoning for beginning to pull back as well as being used to receive a style only to learn how to achieve it and then using what they learned from you to make money by doing other's hair after I took the necessary time to attend school, work hard to be on the Dean's List, President's List and win a 2nd Place Hairstyling Contest's Trophy🏆 by creating an original up do style from scratch and not copying a hairstyle book front page style while also having an Aunt as one of the 3 panel judges of the contest obtaining 1st Place. 👀💯 Yet in still, I digress. Yes, I'm still a bit salty about that unnecessary L especially when we had equal points, but my style was created from my own brain with true creativity. 💯💯 I was still in the local newspaper, so I will not complain. 🙏💖 I apologize for rambling yet again, but it's amazing to find a dedicated person like yourself. I have found that the information you share is on point and for that I must commend you for your tenacity and dedication. You have inspired me to continue to press toward the mark of my own new journey. It hits differently when you have a setback being a professional stylist. Many may not understand my dismay. This is my second setback because I also suffer from low iron and a Vitamin D deficiency as well. Your health is an intricate part of your hair growth journey and many of us fail to acknowledge that aspect. Some of us may believe it's something we are topically doing, which at times it is, but it also can be an internal issue. This is why I thank you because not many are shedding light that when as a woman we have deficiencies, it will almost always reflect on the care of your body as well as your mane. Your regimen, care, internal health, tools and lastly products are an aid, but they all tie in this hair journey together, but most importantly, the number 1 thing is TIME. 💯🙏 I've had many ask me what products I use, but they are not interested in the time I spend in caring for my crown. Some want an immediate fix and it's several dynamics included. You cannot explain it in 5 minutes. Everyone wants the quick fix and it's next to impossible. I can appreciate you and many other's who are taking time of your busy lives to encourage other's and show them that they can also achieve similar results. Your channel as well as other's here on RUclips give more of yourselves than many realize. I hope that you all know that you are greatly admired and appreciated. 🙏 I still don't have the ability to do as you guys do so eloquently. Kudos again to you Gorgeous. You must excuse me as I'm long-winded. I try to keep it short and sweet, but sometimes it doesn't work out as I plan it. Again blessings and favor.🙏🥰💞😘
      Best Regards,
      Eurlee

      @@mzladeeeunicque9526 Wow! Sounds like we need more “growing hands” stylists like you back on the front lines that really care about the upkeep and maintenance of hair! Kudos to you for having such a passion, genuine concern! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 You’re so right that it’s not just about the topical, but also the internal that contributes greatly to our hairs overall health. And I also agree that so many are looking for quick fixes. Time is not the currency they are willing to pay and they end up going down a route that does more harm than good. Not worth it, IMO.
      Thank you so much for sharing, Eurlee. I so appreciate it! And, together, we will put in the work and get you back on track, strand by beautiful strand! #Letsgo 💁🏾‍♀️💪🏾

Do you air-dry your hair before flat ironing or do you blow dry it? If it's air dried, then that's impressive because it air-dries so straight.

    • @DolceDawn
      @DolceDawn  4 года назад +2

      If you’re talking about moisture in the air then, no, I don’t have that problem. I believe the heat protectant and spray I use help combat reversion in my roots. However, of course, all bets are off if I sweat...it’s nothing but rippled roots and crinkled edges afterwards. If you’re having an issue with reversion due to climate, I would look more at the styling products you’re using rather than turning up the heat. Just don’t want you to incur any heat damage... that’s all. ♥️
