    I get it. You obviously are not a fan of the Low Rider ST. ITS ALL GOOD. I have a much different take on this Model. I’ve personally owned and put over 10,000 miles on several baggers. I’ve owned a Street Glide Special/Road King Special/Indian Springfield Darkhorse. Off the showroom floor the Springfield handled and rode the most comfortable for me. Now let’s move forward to my current 2022 Gunship Grey FXLRST, for me this is the best model I’ve owned. Have I changed some things to make it fit me? You bet. There is no one size fits all perfect motorcycle from any manufacturer. I’m always amazed that these content creators can ride on a test/Demo ride and form an opinion good or bad about a specific model. The true story comes out with ownership and long miles. I love my Low Rider ST. Take Care.

    At 6’2 i can confirm this bike is very uncomfortable in its stock form. My buddy did forwards and added mini floor boards, and changed to the lower profile air cleaner, made all the difference.

    That's pretty much how I felt at first. I'm 6'5'' and was coming off of a Challenger. Big change, lol. I had to get a tallboy seat, forwards with floorboards, and I broke the trend and went 12 inch apes over T-Bars. Night and day difference. It's now comfortable, and I just did 1k miles over Memorial weekend with no complaints. Needs some tinkering, but once you get it dialed in it's hella fun.

      If you don't mind telling the world: what is your inseam and build/frame? As I'm sure you've found, it makes an extremely large difference for us taller guys than even those that are low-6' would think. I'm "lucky" in that apes that look cool but the grips are "too far from the seat" in many jurisdictions fit me well.
      [My brother and I are your height; he has a 36" inseam whereas mine is 33", he has more of an athletic build (low-200# but not wire-y) than my very broad-shouldered 265#. Very few things that are the same size/ergonomics *work* for both of us.]

    I have a ‘21 FXLRS as my only bike and it does great for me. The ST version would be even better as it comes with the bags and fairing, both of which I had to add to mine in a Memphis shades road warrior and the thrashin supply style bags. I’ve also put 6” Biltwell Murdock risers with pullback and a 2up seat and passenger pegs. Really, the sport glide was a great option for something like this but it needs the 114 to sell here in America. It’s a huge hit in Europe from what I understand. I definitely like the gauge setup of my ‘21 version vs the new style.

  • @DouglasKphoto
    @DouglasKphoto Месяц назад

    I have it and at 5’7” you will definitely need to do the 9.5” riser with 1.5 pullback + top tree with another 1.5” pull for 3” total.. I also put the gage relocation with the low rider S gauge. Made it 2up with a 22” sissy bar. So for a 5k you can make your dream bike.. 💪🏽😎

    Overall, I think the bike is one of the best HD has come up with, and that’s evidenced by how quickly they sell off the dealers’ floors. However, and it’s a big however, the ergonomics are the worst. What was HD thinking? Knees up high, arms locked straight, back hunched forward. Fortunately this is all fixable - at a cost. But how they intentionally produce a bike with such goofy ergonomics is beyond me.

  • @brokenspokes6731
    @brokenspokes6731 Год назад

    I have an 22 st and had some of the same issues as you pointed out. I put a new two up seat that moved me a little closer to the bars and lifted my butt about 2 inches. I still can flat foot the bike and gave me a better seating position with the pegs. Now my knees are lower on the bike. Many folks are changing out the risers to 6 inch with 2 inches pull back. I think I'd like to try putting on the sport glide bars instead. All and all - I like the power and the handling of the bike. My other pet peeve is the distance between the shifter and the front peg - I plan to install a new shifting rod so I can adjust that out of the bike and move the shifter down a little.

    • @carlbruhn1772

      Slide the shifter off the spline and rotate counterclockwise. There's some adjustment there that won't cost you anything.

    I owned one for less than a year and moved to a new 2024 Road Glide and honestly I cannot think of anything the Low Rider ST better. Went through three windshields and never found a good one, put risers on it to make the reach motor comfortable, and even replaced the seat with a backrest. Basically dumped three thousand or so into trying to fix it for me. The motor is shining feature here but the new 24s beat it without question. For all their claims of CFD testing for aerodynamics it was a real disappointment at highway speeds, probably the worst fairing I dealt with in nearly forty years of riding.

  • @FFL-vg9ro
    @FFL-vg9ro Год назад +1

    Let’s look at the ergonomics from a different perspective. Add forward controls $550, seat $450, and windshield $200. Total $1200 and now it’s very comfortable and rides great.
    Compare that to a Street Glide. Add rear suspension, $900, front suspension $1100, seat $450, windshield $200, and decent bars, $1100. So to get a Street Glide to fit and ride comfortably, costs $3750, while the Low Rider ST only takes $1200 because the expensive stuff - bars and suspension - are already great on the Low Rider. So which stock bike is more disappointing? Looks like the Street Glide and Road Glide to me.

  • @TechNWRO

    The HD adventure began for me in the Willie G. days. I also had had a Shovel Low Rider many moons ago. My ST reminds me of what it was like to ride the FX series. It feels a lot more O'l School HD than my Street Glide. The biggest difference between the ST and my first Low Rider is the seating position. With the shovel I had drag bars and basically reached straight forward. It was truly a Low Rider, but you drug the pipes all the time in the twisty stuff. I must admit that I also lusted after the XLCR Cafe Racer too. However, you could not find one at the time.

    I agree with the seating position, the handlebars are a little long and at an awkward height… I have a 22 FXLRS and still need to make that adjustment. I’m going to try a straight 6.5 rise rather than anything higher w a pullback so I don’t have to mess with an aftermarket gauge mount, cable and wires for the time being. Not sure if it’ll help but it’s a start! Otherwise, I find the foot controls very comfortable and I’m 5’10 but I also have a Saddlemen Pro seat that puts me a touch higher up.
    Otherwise I freakin love the bike! I was very much considering buying a Road Glide but atm that bike is just not for me as a daily driver or my only bike. Although I also have an 06 Night Train but even then, the Lowrider S is just too much fun to rip around on, the wind doesn’t bother me (I also have a Road Warrior fairing) it’s aggressive, I use a headset with a Quadlock and I don’t really tour so it’s perfect for me 😊
