Why is it that you think because it's not grass fed or finished, you're going to get sick? Do you have some particular allergy? I think you're just way too critical and I do not have a Good Chop subscription or have ever tried them.
Grass fed finished on grain is to add the fat that makes it taste good. Unless you have a particular allergy you aren't getting sick. Just overly critical.

So what online brands of grass fed T-Bones are TENDER and not rubbery? I want to try. Most of these online meat stores sell the steaks of any type, much to thin.
I order by 1/2 from the trusted family farm, grass fed and finished. I tried a subscription ( a very popular one), and it turned out to be a scam. I am still upset with myself to go for their " there are gazillion of portions!" when you compare $$ to the actual weight it is a legit scam.
I am currently getting a meat box from another company. and after some digging into there website I found that there beef is grass fed and grain finished. So just when I thought I had found a good source for our meat box deal. I'm now looking elsewhere. I decided to take a look at good chop. I like the flexibility of selecting what goes into each box. and did some reading and watched reviews and felt I had found our new source for our monthly meat and seafood box. Then I dug deeper into the website and even though they state there beef is 100% grass fed.. To my disappointment, I found the exact same wording as I found on another companies webpage that there beef is sourced inside the USA, grass fed and then grain finished.. what a bummer.. So now I'm wondering.. are all these different meat box companies getting there beef from the same sources and we are just picking paying for a name? They also state no antibiotics. But from what I've been reading.. If cattle is grain fed or finished, that means they are taken from a free range environment ( grass fed ) and contained to close quarters, and because of this, cattle is more susceptible to illness , so they are given antibiotics. So what is the real truth here? I'm bummed.

No water came out of the cheaper steak cut that I bought to cut up for making I am very disappointed in the quality of meats that we were sent this time. Our first order was so wonderful. The steaks weren't bad, but not quite as tasty as the last ones. The Ranch Steaks we got in our first order from you were perfect, no water fillers, just blood in the package. When braised no water came out of the meat...it was high quality, not like the grocery store junk or other box meat online stores put out. This time the pan was full of water when we went to sear the meat for our Beef Bourguignon...a time consuming and hard for me to stand and make dish. I ordered 2 packages this time to make a double batch that is how impressed I was with that last pack of ranch steaks you all sent us. And the hamburger, though it tasted better than store bought, was full of water too making it hard to brown. Question, why is American raised a good thing????? Our ways of farming are horrendous and nasty compared to many other countries. I guess the source is closer.
While it's true that there are concerns about certain farming practices in the U.S., choosing American-raised grass-fed meat can actually be a positive choice for several reasons. Firstly, grass-fed meat is typically healthier, being leaner and higher in nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids. Additionally, grass-fed farming often means better conditions for the animals, as they're allowed to graze naturally, which is more humane. From an environmental perspective, these farming methods can be more sustainable, promoting land health and biodiversity. Also, buying locally supports American farmers, ensuring fresher products due to shorter transportation distances. And despite some criticisms, it's worth noting that the U.S. does maintain strict regulatory standards for meat production, which helps in ensuring safety and quality.
American raised label doesn't necessarily mean American born. The problem is in the transporting of live animals from other countries. Shipping isn't always humane nor regulated. Once in the US their isn't labeling requirements to state where the animal originated. Importing meat from other countries that has been slaughtered, butchered and packaged in that other countries are properly labeled as such. Companies like Butcher Box source US raised, but don't guarantee they aren't imported animals. Good Chop states their animals are sourced from farms/ranches that birth and raise their animals in US.
I just got my first Good Chop box. I ordered Porterhouse steak, rib eye steak, salmon, bacon, and porkchops. Since my family raises poultry I don't order chicken.
