I love this idea of setting goals at anytime not just at New Year. Great goals and I am adding some of them to my own list and I'm saving this video so I can come back to it for inspiration. I belong to an online predominantly Black Women book club and we switch off between fiction and non-fiction books that are usually about the Black experience. A couple of fiction recommendations would be "When We Were Birds" and "Transcendent Kingdom." Wishing you success with your job hunt 🧡
Great topics! Thank u for sharing. I have faith things will work out. No book recommendations, but I need to get back into reading also. I hope you can link your Mercari account. I will be looking out for that. And whatever gently used makeup can always be donated to Project Beauty Share 🧡🧡
Thank you so much! As soon as I've updated my Mercari I'll be sure to link it. I'll also update my "About" section so it can be permanently linked there.
Hi, Jamila! I enjoyed hearing about your goals. I’m sorry to hear about your job, but also wanted to share how absolutely admire your attitude. I’m praying you find something that pays those bills and you find fulfilling very soon. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I’m very introverted, but in terms of dating, two close friends of mine had excellent experiences with online dating apps: one is living with her bf and the other is married with two kiddos, so it is possible. Doing short screening dates in public could be a safe way to approach it. One friend used a Google phone number which forwarded to her real one as we are also aware of the horror stories. Just an idea. As for me, I’m in a horrible limbo where I’m trying to buy a home but am paralyzed in fear to see it through. It’s a huge financial responsibility and like you mentioned… this economy is not helping. I hope I get the nerve soon and maybe revive my channel, too. I haven’t posted in like two years and miss it a lot. This is why I admire your outlook. When I lost my three pets in 2022 it really sunk me. I have two new fur babies which I love and are helping me get back up. Just trying to be brave and share a bit just as you shared with us. Which, incidentally, I’m also pining for that same camera! It looks so cool and I love techie stuff. Sending lots of love and positive vibes. 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 You’ve got ALL this!
If you want to stay in budget for groceries, my advice would be to pay in cash. My husband and I have been doing this for the majority of our marriage (14 years) and it works great. We pull out our grocery budget for the week in cash, then keep track as we're shopping of what we're buying (rounding up to the nearest dollar). It takes away the option of overspending since if you run out of cash, then that's it and having the money in hand really gives you a sense of what you're spending. If we underspend and have some left over at the end of the week, then we put that aside to be used for when we might need to buy more groceries than usual (if we're having company over) or if we want to splurge a little.
Also, as someone who doesn't really know that many people in my own community, I'm trying to put myself out there too. For both friends and romance. It can definitely be scary, but I trust it can be worth it. Good luck!! 💚🧡
A few years ago I lost a friend after not speaking for years. It was devastating to think that I could have reached out but didn't because pride. I'm now fine with being the sole outreaches. At least I won't have regrets.
I’m learning that I can only control myself and I need to worry less about what everyone else is doing and just do what makes me feel like a good sister, cousin, daughter, friend etc.
I think a lot of times, self help books are geared towards people who have experienced trauma and/or struggle with mental health issues. They have been very helpful to me, but maybe not for others, and that's ok. 😊💚
you might look into the laser at-home device, i don't like going out and having to make an appt and confirm and show up on time and do the small pleasantry talk w the tech and then tip them on top of the service cost. another idea!
I've been hesitant to try those since it's really unclear what's made for and testing on dark skin and I definitely don't want to accidentally damage my skin.
I organize to do lists , grocery lists, all kinds of lists in my notepad app on my phone and then I decide what I need to do and when and I add it to my calendar app also on my phone 🤳 to remind me/alert me a few hours before or whenever it's convenient and it pops up. Doing this has made my life life so much more peaceful and helps with my anxiety and both are free and always with me so I don't have to keep up with anything 🤷🫶🫶🫶🥰
You convinced me to call a friend. I’ve been mad at her thinking that she should be calling me. You just worded the fact that it’s stupid of me to think that. I would be texting her today
i heard about this a long long time ago (i think it was Aminatou Sow), but she takes off the date of her bday every month, like my bday is the 25th, so on the 25th it's a YOU day. just an idea!

That's such a good idea....Starting Sept I'm really going to be paying attention to the cost of my groceries so I can better budget
I hope you find a job you can tolerate soon. I'll be adding you to my prayer list
Thank you so much that means a lot 🙏🏾🧡

It definitely can! I hope it's going well for you! 🧡
All the best 🧡

Great point! I'm glad you find them helpful and are able to seek help 🧡
Enjoyed tfs❤
I feel like I am just now seeing my parents as people. Raising my parents had been a journey
Yes! It’s weird when the switch flips!
Totally agree on the selfcare books. Useless to me
Yup!

I used the notes app randomly but it’s definitely not consistent enough 😫
As far as book recommendations, try Curvy Girl Summer. I also love anything by Beverly Jenkins
I finished curvy girl summer last month! AMAZING!! That thing kept me up all night 😂
