Recently finished building mine and I'd have to say that this kit is awesome and very much deserving of Jabman's Master Grade kit of the Year award as it is a build that one should experience atleast once in his/her lifetime as a builder/modeler.
Gundam: We need to have a giant robot that smashes things Gundam Z: We need to have a giant robot that smashes things and also turns into a fighter jet Gundam ZZ: We need to have a giant robot that smashes things, turns into a fighter jet and is assembled from multiple, individually piloted pieces. Thus was late 70's and 80's anime. Good times, good times. OT: I am surprised that this thing hold together that well, but I must say, bravo with that wrist, Bandai. You chose function over form on a Ver Ka. for once.
After months of waiting, I finally got this behemoth in the mail myself. The beam saber blades are freaking huge! I'd hate to see how giant a 1/60 ZZ's beam saber blades would be.
“This is a long complicated build" After me seeing some wip images of the Mechanicore Perfect Zeong, this kit is like a simple HG kit compare to that beast :P
When you are Italian, and you're desperate f***ing waiting for the release of a new kit in your country, you know that first must came Jabman's review.
ThePainTrain But this kit literally killed the old ZZ Gundam, there is really no reason to buy it anymore. The ZZ Gundam is supposed to look like a super robot, and the ver Ka still looks like one.
Advertising or not, my only words if those kits were ever to happen is "Shut up and take my Money!!!" If they can pull off an MG ZZ Gundam that isn't a mess I hope to see some love for Gundam Sentinel.
Too bad that model uses parts from the old EX-S Gundam. I am NOT selling my kidney for that, and I'd rather just wait for a S Gundam ver 2.0, whether it takes 10 years or not. (Turns out I was right about the old parts. They restrict the movement and it pretty much lacks details. It’s not worth the $200 price point.)
I think I'm gonna grab one of these sometime soon. Decals aren't typically my thing, and it looks like this ZZ will look great without them. Thanks for the review, Jabman.
@ Jabman025 looks like the "Hacksaw Jim Duggan" of Gunpla Building! Im kidding about the wrestler reference but I love your vids, reviews and channel man. Plus your Goatee is Majestic AF!
My heart breaks everytime I break a part especially on a fairly expensive model such as this.. thanks for the heads up in the silver parts, I'll be extra careful when I get to assembling mine.
Hey Jab, as always your reviews are just awesome man. Tho I gotta say, stick to your regular lighting. The front lights just add glare to the vid at times
To be honest the double zeta's transformation ain't that bad nor complex especially for a transformable ms considering its essentially a gundam laying on its belly, and I cannot wait for bandai to release a MG Tryon 3 Also bandai already proved themselves on posable and transformable kits with the hguc Gabthley which is a great kit overall yet its so overlooked
Bandai is going to release the Enhanced ZZ add on parts with standard ZZ set with anime colour on P-bandai during christmas. I can see myself buying it for christmas.
I have a question now, why aren't their more special kits like the high grade collection of main mobile suits which is all clear but only a high grade? I would enjoy more gimmicks like this on the master grades. like that or more blast effects like the acguy master grades effect for firing.
I still like the original MG better. I'm just not crazy about the face and proportions. I wish they made the ver. Ka that was featured in the first HG ZZ kit from 1990.
Arrowdodger I highly suggest looking up wotafa's review for the transformation, and honestly jabman seems to overly exaggerate the complexness here....
I think you messed up one of the core fighters, the wings are on top instead of the bottom. Did you also accidentally cut the pegs that are supposed to hold the v-fins in place?
Liking the new lighting. BTW are you getting that upcoming PG Exia? Or the p-bandai 00 XN Raiser for a bit of an updated review of a past kit of the year?
How does the difficulty of this kit compare to that of RG Sinanju? I recently finished building RG Sinanju. Although it was challenging, I enjoyed the process a lot.
good review but I have a question, do you think we will get a full armor ZZ gundam ver.ka, and if we do, how terrified are you of building that monster?
Casvic the Enhanced ZZ Gundam VerKa parts are coming out in December and they're P-Bandai. The Enhanced parts (basically a larger backpack) are a prerequisite for the Full Armor version...so you can bet that's most likely gonna be P-Bandai too
I don't think you need to paint the inner frame for this kit, but I would suggest painting the booster with metallic black and just panel line and flat top coat. The color separation is almost perfect on this kit.
Lmao so this kit can hold its over sized weapons, but the sazabi can't hold either of it's weapons without propping them up on the leg armor. Katoki at it again
+t8721277 no the two kits are just too different however it is obvious that we are getting the full armor at some point you can already see the hookups where that armor is going to go
Im getting confused on your number system for your kits. You said this one was #122, but a year ago the V2 was #124. I think i may be missing something here...
MG of the year is easy...not much competition. Bandai's been so slow to release new MG's. Poseable transforming MS, no more excuses Bandai. Time for Re-GZ Ver Ka.
I have never liked ZZ as far as Gundams go and seeing this kit and hearing how overly complicated it's as build doesn't change that. So to me this one is not going to be gunpla of the year.
I’m going to say my opinion here. As a huge fan of transforming mobile suits, this is literally #1 on my wish list. I’m definitely gonna buy this if the price is around 60-65 bucks. I’ve always been a fan of its design, it’s G-Fortress mode, and the double beam rifle. Speaking of which, what do you think should be this year’s MG of the year?
Jetfire48 But this is jabman025, a man who has been building MGs for a very long time. When he says something is complicated, it really is. Just like he said in the V2 Gundam review.
Recently finished building mine and I'd have to say that this kit is awesome and very much deserving of Jabman's Master Grade kit of the Year award as it is a build that one should experience atleast once in his/her lifetime as a builder/modeler.

OT: I am surprised that this thing hold together that well, but I must say, bravo with that wrist, Bandai. You chose function over form on a Ver Ka. for once.
LohenArc gundam zz: we need a gundam thats a fortress
LohenArc The past few ver kas were all function and form. Nu. Hi-Nu. Sazabi. Those 3 were amazing tbh.
Char's Counterattack: We need a gianter slimmer robot that smashes things and has a wing made up of automated lasers.
CCA: Give my robot a cape that shoots lasers
After months of waiting, I finally got this behemoth in the mail myself. The beam saber blades are freaking huge! I'd hate to see how giant a 1/60 ZZ's beam saber blades would be.
When you bouta sleep but jab man posts
Gotta stay W O K E
“This is a long complicated build"
After me seeing some wip images of the Mechanicore Perfect Zeong, this kit is like a simple HG kit compare to that beast :P
Where did you see those WIP images? Got the Ziegler in my back log and want to know what I'm in for :P
now we need a 2.0 qubley... i mean the current one looks great, but not nearly detailed enough to stand next to this
Never really cared for ZZ Gundam. But now I'm watching the actual anime and it's growing on me. Might have to pick this one up, after all.
When you are Italian, and you're desperate f***ing waiting for the release of a new kit in your country, you know that first must came Jabman's review.
Gotta say Katoki did great with ZZ compared to Victory and Victory 2
Chris Ci Wei I agree.... If only it had better leg articulation... V and V2 had bad lower body articulation
Victory 2 is plague with it dumb lower leg section.
Great review. But one question...
Is it anime?
No. It is real.
if rrobbert184 hadn't retired from youtube, he'd probably make a clever intro saying "Anime.... ja nai"
Should be getting this any day now. Local Barnes and Nobel gets these. Not in stock yet, and I have a 15% off coupon I’m saving for this.
Dude I used to watch you videos a long time ago. I'm so glad that you're still doing videos! I just subscribed so I won't miss anything from now on!
Just purchased this for my own christmas gift. Can't wait to finish my build
I'm surprised you didn't bring out your old MG ZZ and called this kit a 'Kit-killer' @jabman025
ThePainTrain But this kit literally killed the old ZZ Gundam, there is really no reason to buy it anymore. The ZZ Gundam is supposed to look like a super robot, and the ver Ka still looks like one.
So happy i didnt miss the review with the whole power issue im having. I will be getting this kit probably in december.
Now I just need to hold out hope for a 2.0 of the S or EX-S Gundam.
Sounds a little too big to be anything but an advertising stunt.
Advertising or not, my only words if those kits were ever to happen is "Shut up and take my Money!!!" If they can pull off an MG ZZ Gundam that isn't a mess I hope to see some love for Gundam Sentinel.
That Bandai MG #201 Deep Striker! It's finally getting a release.....if you have about $200
Too bad that model uses parts from the old EX-S Gundam.
I hope Bandai will release the FAZZ ver ka very soon.
Skeptical Thinker that would almost definitely have to be P-Bandai. Would be glad to be proven wrong though
I won't be shocked if it's a P Bandai kit to be honest
maybe add-on armor only of FAZZ just like mg ver ka nu gundam HWS
I'd be shocked if it wasn't P-Bandai
Youve been heard by the gunpla gods my dude. Be shocked. Be very shocked.
Was waiting for YOUR review of this.
been waittin a long time for this it was so worth the wait
I cant wait till mine arives so excited for it
After building this awsome kit i think its the easiest transformation of any gundam kit there is
I demand you to review the FAZZ Ver.Ka that's coming out next year on February.
@ Jabman025 looks like the "Hacksaw Jim Duggan" of Gunpla Building! Im kidding about the wrestler reference but I love your vids, reviews and channel man. Plus your Goatee is Majestic AF!
holycrap im loving the new camera!
+DankLord Popim same camera new lighting
My heart breaks everytime I break a part especially on a fairly expensive model such as this.. thanks for the heads up in the silver parts, I'll be extra careful when I get to assembling mine.
Any parts that are particularly loose? Getting mine whenever USAGundamstore gets theirs in stock.
Hey Jab, as always your reviews are just awesome man. Tho I gotta say, stick to your regular lighting. The front lights just add glare to the vid at times
To be honest the double zeta's transformation ain't that bad nor complex especially for a transformable ms considering its essentially a gundam laying on its belly, and I cannot wait for bandai to release a MG Tryon 3
Also bandai already proved themselves on posable and transformable kits with the hguc Gabthley which is a great kit overall yet its so overlooked
MG TRYON 3 PLEASE
the gabthley is a twelve year old kit dude. No shit no one talks about it.
It's a twelve year old kit that NAILED its transformation.
I'm sure it's a good kit. It's just idiotic to wonder why no one talks about it.
That, and the Gabthley isn't exactly a popular suit too.
Bandai is going to release the Enhanced ZZ add on parts with standard ZZ set with anime colour on P-bandai during christmas. I can see myself buying it for christmas.
Sazabi is simply the best MG. Put anything side by side to it, you will see how great it is again and again.
Great as always @jabman025 ! Now... where is my sinanju stein review! 😉
So what's the difference between ver.ka and the double zeta mg?
I have a question now, why aren't their more special kits like the high grade collection of main mobile suits which is all clear but only a high grade? I would enjoy more gimmicks like this on the master grades. like that or more blast effects like the acguy master grades effect for firing.
nervous since this is going to be my first mg...
From brick to "atleast poseable"
Its a beautiful kit i love mine so much best gundam i have built to date just waiting on my mg dynames
i wonder if they gonna make the Tryon 3......
Can you please do a series on how to properly build a kit
It works. It just works.
I still like the original MG better. I'm just not crazy about the face and proportions. I wish they made the ver. Ka that was featured in the first HG ZZ kit from 1990.
Mannnnn this thing is busy busy busy, might still have to pick it up
Good observation on the ZZ and Tryon. This is a neat kit and all, but, way too complex for my tastes. Still, maybe I'll change my mind someday.

How does the difficulty of this kit compare to that of RG Sinanju? I recently finished building RG Sinanju. Although it was challenging, I enjoyed the process a lot.
Working on a navy blue and white version of this guy.
Understand the wait man; it’s a beast!
So when is the sinanju stein coming! 😉
Daaaaamn, this beat the justice!
Is the plastic abs
This is the first of the transformation being complicated or flimsy at all every review and even my own has been easy as hell.
Dang i didnt realize i got an initial reliece becouse i got the metalic decals and ill never use them lol
Do you still have those premium decals? I can’t source and would like to take them off you :))
In universe Anaheim made Delta Zeta and ZZ one after another. I think they should have fired the guy. He over designed the hell out of those three.
BusoRockin1000 how? The zz gundam is honestly less complex compared to the zeta
Thankz for the review
good review but I have a question, do you think we will get a full armor ZZ gundam ver.ka, and if we do, how terrified are you of building that monster?
Casvic the Enhanced ZZ Gundam VerKa parts are coming out in December and they're P-Bandai. The Enhanced parts (basically a larger backpack) are a prerequisite for the Full Armor version...so you can bet that's most likely gonna be P-Bandai too
Do you recommend this kit or the mg nu gundam ver ka?
Should I paint the inner frame on this?
I don't think you need to paint the inner frame for this kit, but I would suggest painting the booster with metallic black and just panel line and flat top coat. The color separation is almost perfect on this kit.
No Anime Ja Nai joke smh
The colour grading on the photos at the end of the video is pretty weird awesome vid tho
This might be a weird question, but difficulty-wise, how would you compare this thing's transformation to the MG Unicorns?
+ChaosFS unicorns are much easier to transform than this thing
Honest review: just build it like you would any other and it’ll be fine. Just pay attention to all the undergate nubs.
Satisfying build, high quality product. Everything’s solid and works as designed. Legs aren’t complicated to build by any means, just unorthodox.
Are you getting the Enhanced ZZ parts?
Is it possible to put it on action base.
Kuro Chan All modern MGs have an action base connector for an Action Base 1, and this is no exception.
easily, comes with attachment and weight is not an issue
I mean when u transform it flight mode or whatever u call it is it possible to put it on action base. Cuz mr jabman didn’t mention it
the front flyer yes, the rest no
Thx. Mr jabman
As I thought
really impossible to put that whole transform thing to a single action base
Hoping for that idea for an mg super gundam
There's an MG of that. Based on the MG Mk-II 1.0
Yes, there is definitely a MG MKII with the G Defenser. It's an older kit but it's a must have for any Zeta collection.
I want this kit so bad
cant wait for mg gm comando
Like a years worth of reviews ago you said the origin was your 123rd master grade, yet you say this is your 122nd.
I know my count got screwed up this year, this should be #138
Man this is awesome but...now I feel like we need a zeta 3.0
Lmao so this kit can hold its over sized weapons, but the sazabi can't hold either of it's weapons without propping them up on the leg armor. Katoki at it again
i want to know if the MG FAZZ armor can be fitted on that ver. ka ZZ?
Why don't you try it out yourself?
+t8721277 no the two kits are just too different however it is obvious that we are getting the full armor at some point you can already see the hookups where that armor is going to go
Im getting confused on your number system for your kits. You said this one was #122, but a year ago the V2 was #124. I think i may be missing something here...
lol my sequence is off........way off lol, this should be MG 138.....I have been off sequence the whole year LOL
jabman025 i understand that very well. Thanks for clearing that up
R_e ez custom next please
I honestly think RG is more complicated than this kit 😁
The last part confused me.
MG of the year is easy...not much competition. Bandai's been so slow to release new MG's.
Poseable transforming MS, no more excuses Bandai. Time for Re-GZ Ver Ka.
HidaAtarasi or an HGUC re-gz custom....
Wow.
way massive big jet mode bigger than wing jet mode
Is painting this beast wise or do you think it would just making it stiff as hell?
+KingBronzeL I see no issue painting the armor shouldn't affect much painting the inner frame however may cause issues
you do know that there are a pbandai version called Full Armor ZZ
Not yet. It's the Enhanced ZZ.
Winner of MG of the year? Wasn't it the only MG of the year lol
GM Sniper 2
Justice
Providence
ZZ VER. KA
GM Sniper Custom
GM Command
so basically 4 kits if we were to count the 3 GMs as 1 nominee for MG of the yr.
Hey boss jabman
Red zeta please
I think g fortress is best form
I'm scared
20
I have never liked ZZ as far as Gundams go and seeing this kit and hearing how overly complicated it's as build doesn't change that. So to me this one is not going to be gunpla of the year.
The complication is a nice trade off when you got quality. It's like saying you don't wanna play Dark Souls because it's hard.
Let's see... I think for me the Providence comes third, ZZ second, and then GM Sniper II.
Mecha82 Honestly from watching the speedbuild it didn't seem as complex as jabman described
Jetfire48 But this is jabman025, a man who has been building MGs for a very long time. When he says something is complicated, it really is. Just like he said in the V2 Gundam review.
One handed review, lazy
