    When the instrumental stands alone as a piece of music, you know your hearing to something great.

    Im grateful that I've seen Roy Ayers live. Im also grateful that I've seen The Roots live on several occasions.

    First joint I ever heard from The Roots. Feb. 1995 in Fort Myers, Florida. One of my boys had this on a cassette and asked me what I thought about it...They've been my 2nd favorite group in hip hop ever since (ATCQ will always be my favorite).

    Simple yet, so cool. It's like cruising New York City in the early 80s on an El train as you look out a windows; watching a beautiful sun set and thinking about your family and friends.

    That subtle nod to Everybody loves the Sunshines notes weaved throughout the song. That UHN vibe you get just listening to the chord changes. Off the chain....

    If I had one, this would be my theme music. As I walked down the street this music would play out of nowhere. Love it!

    You say it's vital, I say it's so recital, I say the glow starts to fade when the day gets the title, you can't cascade, you can't lamp shade, I pass grades by the mile, stay of age and wage ways to re style, pile on grays, that's huge for hues, I pay dues that can't excuse, I'm not a vulture, follow pecking orders if want the commander in chief you best to soldier, first, that's me in higher ranking, you want to pitch a fit better lift a fort that's best for camping, I'm fresh expanding, see my next landing on a moon for the scanning, you can't copy rights, I got inventions I never mentioned that go on in a past life, now back to my future, I work the cuts like the rhymes made of sutures, who's patient enough to watch my mind grow, I let suckers know who's house this is like a store with its sign low,

    Dosed binded, slowed by the closed minded view, oppose most with a side winded move, snake in the grass with a path I can't lose, I advance like the past till now becomes true, blue skied terrain, stirring stew linings until a true finding came, no binding chains can possibly inhibit, I scuttle to the next mind to exhibit, no ways to distort, as I turn a phrase to a dull kind retort, extort winter from a spring of the lip, as I open legs to a rose that is fit, carefully clipped, staring eclipse, then turn it in like a tray on the sticks, pick butter fields with a biscuit that is thick, and she starts to cough up my soul that exists, that's heavenly another dimming make believe, as I see the shadows on the walls of my every eve, I'm not the chosen one, I'm just a frozen gun, shooting out tickets for a show no one ever comes, I can't stand still, still stuck like quicksand over anvils, I run amuck like pouring soda over ant hills, you can say its a duck, to many I'm a target, i got the look there's no way you can market, a hairy face, here to invite you to a scary place, the reading of an ending suspending you into out if space, I'm just a latter year, traditions die like a cavalier, who always swings with a miss in a slower drive and a sadder gear, that's turbulent, riding on the verge of it, you want stomach pains here's the meat for the burger witch, I blurb a bit, many can't refurbish it, but I like recycle, it's vital to my permanence,

    Sounds like something Dr.Dre would produce in his Death Row days.

    • @lavantwooten2581
      @lavantwooten2581 2 года назад +2

      No. Dr. Dre was more into the funk, and while there may be some overlapping concepts with funk and jazz, I don't think Dre would have used this.
