I can ABSOLUTELY confirm that Ed Boswell was the FIRST original promoter of the Von Dutch clothing line. I was his screen printer and color separator for the first Von Dutch images. We were doing posters and plastisol print separations in 1995. IN 1995. Ed already had "shop worn" mechanics shirts with Von Dutch patches on the pockets.

    Steve Van Duyn
I come from the high performance and custom world. I have sold, built and collected vintage, racing, high performance, and custom automotive awards, equipment and clothing for decades. Along with historic film, theater, opera. I supplied the custom, racing, and restoration shops in So. Cal... We traded expertise, out of the love for engine powered vehicles. To increase the credibility of the product. Of course, I knew who Von Dutch was. Along with Big Daddy Roth (RIP), Dean Moon (RIP), Ells Lon (RIP), Isky (100 and still going), Clay Smith (George is still going), Ernie Emerso (RIP), Granatelli (RIP), M/T Mickey Thompson (RIP), et al.. A friend and mentor of mine, Lynn Dowdy, {RIP.). Knew Jimmy Bruckner and his brother well. So well, that Lynn was asked to manage their warehouse (Bruckner's) in the Santa Paula, Filmore, Ca.. When Dutch lived there. Lynn, had a company in So. Cal. out near Norco, called American Nostalgia. We worked the Pomona Automotive Swap Meet, back to back at the olive tree, for more than a decade.
Jimmy Bruckner, because of Lynn; allowed me to go through his inventory. Two weeks after Dutch died, Lynn and Jimmy allowed me to go through the room inside where Dutch did work. Steve McQueen, Von Dutch, Bruce Lee and others hung out at Bruckner's. Steve had a home nearby. Lynn Dowdy was a friend of Steve McQueen and hunted down multiple vintage toys, et al.., for McQueen.
I know the last words of McQueen said to Lynn Dowdy when he was dying of cancer. I know the last words of Davey McDonald, to Fritz Voight, ( M/T's mechanic). The day Davey died at the INDY 500. The memento that Travers (Traco Racing Engines) kept the day Bill Vukovich died at the INDY 500.
I was hunting through multiple collectible markets in L.A.. When across the street, from Fairfax High School market, I spotted the Melrose Von Dutch Store for the first time. Intrigued, I went in after I finishing the market. The store was just beginning to move to another location. This was a Deja Vu, moment. I would purchase nearly a thousand historic pieces from three internationally known automotive celebrity inventories late that year. George Barris (RIP), whom Dutch had worked for, all the way back to the forties. Tom McEwen (The Mongoose}(RIP) of Hot Wheels and the Snake (Don Prudhomme) fame. Then of course Von Dutch, before they moved. Items, I have never been offered anywhere. I've run out of time. Maybe, I'll contribute again later.

Really that clothing deal always pissed me off. They used his name on shit stuff and that’s all people know. They need to see the beauty in art that con dutch created. Or should I say developed from covering scratch marks. He was amazing. That should be the story not a bunch of crackheads selling overrated apparel.

I'm curious to get Dante and Chicago Barstools opinion on Travis Scott interview....... Dante has a better understanding of these large attendance experiences and exactly what can be seen or heard from on stage with smoke, weird lighting, and a thousands of screams. I can barely hear or understand the person standing next to me and people faint or get carried to safety ALL THE TIME. Do you think General Admission events will no longer be???? Would things have been diffrent if it was assigned seating???? Was their enough staff considering unemployment numbers???? Should they have made changes before???
As much as I feel Astroworld was a disaster I'm just not positive I can blame Scott for what happened???? I mean if trump was found not responsible for January 6th can Scott be responsible for what happened at Astroworld? ??? Don't the concert attendees need to take some responsibility for what had happened? ?? I just don't know but would love to hear your opinions and insight with your barstool experience or DJ events
    Thanks boys!!!!

Mike Cassel wasn’t smoking crack rocks during the documentary. He was smoking pain pills off foil.

I have one of those cool things from 2006. A never released prototype of a Von Dutch basketball. As far as I know its the only one. I searched around and your video was suggested so now I am going to listen.

Jimmy Iovine is another guy with beats. Owner of interscope records. The guy everyone he met or had come over he made them take pictures with the Dr. Dre Bears headphones. That’s how the headphones exploded. All the celebs were wearing them.
