@@thedevilsrockstxr2309i disagree with the idea of "prometheus is bad cause the scientists act stupid" because 1- movie needs to happen and 2- scientists irl DO a lot of dumb and dangerous things for the sake of science, dont tell me you seriously think that every scientific achievement was done by careful planing and following protocols when we have several stories of "did you know that X was actually developed because scientist accidentaly knocked a vial into the sample" the way the scientists behave in prometheus is very human (just watch any zoologist video and how they approach dangerous animals and how many have died/gotten hurt because of that and dont get me started with geologists whose first action upon finding a rock is to lick it, yes theres a reason for that, but they are still licking a rock)
The reason some of the prometheus crew were incompetent is because they were hired by Vickers (Waylands daughter) & she WANTED the mission to fail so she could gain control of the company, it's the ONLY reason she was there to 100% confirm Waylands death so she could easily take control of the company without having lots of hoops to jump through proving wayland dead, it's why she has the specific line of "for those of you who personally hired, welcome" she hired some incompetent crew to reduce the chance of waylands success in the mission & extending his life. There is also the fact that in real life, on paper some 'smart' people are actually dumb people
It’s really weird how they never address what they did with the pregnant chick’s body. Like did they just leave her to rot in the corner while they were in cryo?
Kinda dark, but probably put her in cryo. She put Andy in cryo, maybe took care of Kay as well. Or a space burial, considering Rain might want to make sure she has enough cryo fuel for the trip and beyond. If they're setting up a remake and Kay is in cryo, she might get revived or something like that, since she injected herself with ZO1 and might no longer be human.
I was truly terrified by the hybrid at the end it's face kept me up last night I just saw it yesterday it was brilliant I thought it would be OK so was surprised I was genuinely scared like in the first 2 movie when I was a kid in the 80s
I watched this last night basically soaring through cloud 9 and lemme tell you - i was just blazed, but it felt like an acid trip between all the visuals, cinematography, character moments, etc, etc.
I still don't know how I feel about the digital resurrection of Ian Holm, because yes his family consented to it but he was featured so prominently in the whole film. Aside from that, I didn't have any other issues with the film.
So Bjorn was the father of Kay's baby (cousins btw) according to Fede. She did say the father was some jerk. I had a feeling that was the case when they reunited after the ship crashed they embraced a little too intimately.
Just came to say I really level with you when you say you can't stop thinking about evil dead when watching this because of the director, not a bad thing at all, this movie was brilliant.
Yo I loved this movie spaney was amazing as rain . This is my favorite of the franchise to be honest . The body horror was top notch . Loved seeing the xenomorph back in action again !
I thought there would be a huge fight between a Morphed Kay and the Final Xeno, then it would have been her baby that Rayne and Andy had to contend with.
It would be perfect if the opening of the next movie starts with a nightmare sequence of andy killing and experimenting on rain only for rain to wake up from cryo sleep
I was really hoping half of the movie was going to take place on the ship, but have the alien crash land with a couple survivors and have the reamining half of the movie take place on the colony. Have chaos emerge there amongst the civilians.
also idk if this is from the comics, but the egg/cocoon to transform into a xenomorph is another organism; besides the xeno inside. just like how the egg is it's own organism besides the facehugger inside, being a separate organism too.
I agree, the egg holds the facehugger, not the baby xeno. It's a cocoon and it's concept was taken from the movie Species ( which is connected to the Alien movies by way of H.R Giger)
The whole concept of egg-morphing actually came back into the extended media with Aliens: Defiance. In the case of a lone Xeno having to start a hive, it can evolve to convert human victims into eggs in the hope of developing a queen.
Funnily enough, even though I enjoyed Romulus, I ended up recommending for friends to go into it as a plain horror fan rather than Alien fan. It does feel very separate...but not in a bad way!
That cocoon was more showing how the chest ripper baby alien turns into an adult rather than reproducing without a queen. So this expands the lore in that all the younglings have been morphing off screen to become adults. Also, big scorchie is "Big Chap" as the alien fans call him. He's original one Ridley fought in Alien 1.
Scorchy is the one that came out of the cocoon, big chap was the dead one in the same room as rook. You can see the grappling hook through it that Ripley got it with in one shot.
TLDR I went from being very skeptical about the movie to being quite happy with it. I thought that reviving Big Chap from what was supposed to be unrecoverable triple nuclear explosion was lame and then killing him off screen was even lamer but the movie is actually quite good. It oozes love and reverence to the original two movies and there's a splashes of alien isolation in almost every frame. Big part for me was how they seamlessly blended old-fi tech from Alien and Aliens like buttons and cranks with more modern digital screens, AND made CGI work with practical effects, and there's a ton of practical effects. Movie gave facehuggers front stage and managed to transfer the ominous danger that a hallway can convey to the screen with distant screeching and hissing inside long empty vent shafts really selling the fact that danger is always around the corner. Yes, references to original movies are very often a bit too much, but the plot moves with a pace and you don't get time to dwell on it. Yes, Big Chap is killed off-screen but a) there are plenty of xenomorphs to take his place and b) there's a tiny chance it's not Big Chap, since we're shown later that there are plenty of xenomorphs on the station and it could have been one of them. David Johnson really sells the two versions of Andy. The zero gravity sections is a nice touch (not like the shitty movie Gravity). It also makes sense to bring the Prometheus Fire or pathogen - thank God we don't have to call it "black goo" anymore - back into the story and actually use it for something, bringing the corporate greed exemplified by WY throughout the movies to it's logical conclusion. Everything in this movie is set up quite nicely with recalls later in the movie.
Since you didn’t mention it, I assume when they froze the tail at 12: 45 that was also a call back to Yaphet Koto saying why only you just freeze him in the original Alien
This is a fanTASTic explained. Every other video I've watched on this is just hung up on the bad callbacks and have nothing to say about the way they tried to at least work at making the lore more consistent.
The part where the xeno makes a cocoon I think there still is a queen but she only lays facehugger eggs and the facehuggers impregnate live host like a parasite and the xeno evolves from there, kinda like a tarantula hawk.
Perfect timing! Only just watched this film last week! It’s amazing. If anyone is wondering whether to watch it, it’s a return to form for the series. PS - agree with the “on the nose” comment about some of the referencing. A touch heavy-handed at times, but I’ll excuse it!
I don’t know the connection between all these movies 100% but man did that baby thing look like the engineers from Prometheus makes me def feel there’s a greater connection
Seeing the original in theaters for the 45th anniversary just made me even more excited for Romulus. Alien was my first exposure to horror when I went on the Great Movie Ride at Disneyworld as a kid, so finally getting to see it on the big screen was absolutely incredible. I was on the edge of my seat, loving every second of Romulus and both films are easily some of the best I’ve ever seen in theaters. I love the director’s approach to his installations in horror franchises and can’t wait for the Alien show next year.
31:20 I was in a packed cinema watching Romulus on release, and the whole cinema started to laugh when he eventually finished the iconic line. We loved it, and the way it was made personal to Andy's journey in the movie (he learned the word from that asshole who kept calling him a bitch). I wasn't offended that they used it and appreciated the way it was used. Some people really got their panties in a bunch because of all of the references, and have lost sight that this was a huge success for the franchise because it has brought new people into the Alien fandom and has shown the people who control the money over at Disney/Fox that this a franchise still very much in demand.

@Expo- right lol ive been posting this same exact comment on every single video not long after it drops for like years now LOL
@@ob1nc apparently it was when he shed light on obscure horror films that were either bad or a diamond in the rough. Basically the same thing as this but for films most people never seen

FoundFlix thank you for making the content you do for years. I remember seeing some videos back in 2019 and being hooked. Thank you for everything and I wish you luck in the future.
I second that ❤
Even though he gets some very particular and odd things wrong in a lot of videos (sometimes his imagination seems to overwork itself and other times it does the opposite 😅) he’s always been massively entertaining and at the end of the day that’s why I watch the videos .. the whole idea of ending explained has become its own form of entertainment that I love enjoying after watching the movies.. not to learn anything but just to watch and unwind 😊
@@mcoupe69 I mean people interpret things differently....that's life. That's people. Its fine lol its still a good channel just let them give him his flowers ❤
Something lot of people miss. Bjorn and Navarro are also siblings (she is adopted) so they are 3 pairs of siblings. They bump their heads and some assume they are a couple but not at all. That’s why he gets so defensive after the face hugger.
You didn't miss it we just don't care
I missed that, thanks 😊

I was quite surprised with this movie it was my first 4DX experience made it all the much better!
Same!! I could have done without the neck air lmao.
Everyone hates Prometheus/covenant because the supposed scientist makes a stupid decision after other. Here there a bunch a kids and are way smarter. Love this one, can’t wait for the sequel.
I mean the movie has to happen and the scientists and marines made dumb decisions throughout the whole series....while Prometheus is too stupid....none of them were actually scientists in covenant, they were simply colonists.....the mc Daniels is literally a engineer? Covenant while not perfect gets flack for killing shaw which who gaf and Prometheus stain....this exact movie couldve came out a year after covenant and everyone would say the same thing, and I'm not one of this cringe it's not tht bad people tht say Halloween 3 is kinda good, no, but covenant is ok
Speak for yourself :p despite the flaws of Prometheus I and many others still enjoy it for what it is and what Ridley set out to do by expanding the lore .. I will concede that covenant was an absolute let down but David was a fascinating character and I would not be opposed to seeing him pop up again in the future
There is also the fact that in real life, on paper some 'smart' people are actually dumb people
@@Kendymary why are u telling me tht....I dnt think its horrible as I said
It’s really weird how they never address what they did with the pregnant chick’s body.
@ well they should’ve shown us that. The writers clearly just forgot about her
She was dead… the hybrid alien absorbed her

This review is what is best for the company.
Well I serve the company if I liked this film and I am gen-z so it makes sense why I liked it so much.
Whenever he gives a good recommendation about a movie at the start, I pause the video, go and watch the movie, and then comeback.
I was truly terrified by the hybrid at the end it's face kept me up last night I just saw it yesterday it was brilliant I thought it would be OK so was surprised I was genuinely scared like in the first 2 movie when I was a kid in the 80s
I like that when the alien grabs her helmet looks to be a reference to the video game poster.
Bro I really appreciate these videos, I just be chilling faded and just watching on movies I don’t a got time to watch.
Wow I couldn't believe you were doing a Alien explained video this is going to be great
Offspring smiles:
Theater: Aw hellll nahhh!!
Literally
I watched this last night basically soaring through cloud 9 and lemme tell you - i was just blazed, but it felt like an acid trip between all the visuals, cinematography, character moments, etc, etc.
There is nothing better than watching a horror movie with some psychedelics
@@CarlosSpicyWangThat sounds like a terrible idea 😶😂
I can't believe I have been watching you for like 15 years.
Nothing like finishing the week with hearing this majestic voice!
The hims endorsement killed this video.
I need my d pills, so what
I love creative things like the 0 gravity acid. Finally a half decent alien movie.
I love you found Flix. Been watching you for a decade. And you haven't changed 😊.
The horde of facehuggers and the chestburster scene was amazing in the theatre when I first saw it.
I have been waiting WEEKS for you to do this one.
This isn't ending + series connections... this is just explaining what happens in the movie.
I think you’re my favorite RUclipsr. Thanks
Just came to say I really level with you when you say you can't stop thinking about evil dead when watching this because of the director, not a bad thing at all, this movie was brilliant.
Honestly I think this is my favorite alien film.
I was waiting for this breakdown
Oh no, a gambling sponsor lmao
Thats not good
Yo I loved this movie spaney was amazing as rain . This is my favorite of the franchise to be honest . The body horror was top notch . Loved seeing the xenomorph back in action again !
I thought there would be a huge fight between a Morphed Kay and the Final Xeno, then it would have been her baby that Rayne and Andy had to contend with.
17:10 a ribcage! no.. wait.. nostrils!!
Ear canal, toe webbing
😂😂😂😂
I think it looks like a vagina
Man, the movie is so good. Loved it
It would be perfect if the opening of the next movie starts with a nightmare sequence of andy killing and experimenting on rain only for rain to wake up from cryo sleep
Been so waiting for this one! Thank you!!! Great as usual 👌🏻
I hope they introduce Ripley's daughter in the next movie. Alien Isolation is confirmed canon so having her daughter in this movie would be cool
Funnily enough, even though I enjoyed Romulus, I ended up recommending for friends to go into it as a plain horror fan rather than Alien fan. It does feel very separate...but not in a bad way!
I got my mom and dad to see this with me in the theatre, they hadn't seen a Alien movie since the first two when they were teens. It was really dope
@@imdeadontheinside1207 thank the heavens your not a hater hallelujah.
On another note, I MUST SEE The Gate. Just saw trailer looks incredible!
Gotta do Black Cab please. A little confused on the ending and what it's supposed to mean.
I watched it last night absolute baller timing man
That cocoon was more showing how the chest ripper baby alien turns into an adult rather than reproducing without a queen.
No, big chap is the dead alien that Rook points to. Were you even paying attention to the film??
I watched this movie in theaters with my cousin a few weeks ago, and thought it was one of the best movies I've ever seen.
A sequel could have Rain and Andy meeting Yautja. Helping them on their hunt.
8:00 ... that baayby 😂
I screamed when he said this knowing the end of the movie. That "baby" was the most horrifying thing I have ever witnessed 😂
One of the best horrors this year. Now this is the alien we wanted.
Bro got tha most Stellar collection of Physical Media! DOPE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They should make alien isolation into a movie

This is a fanTASTic explained. Every other video I've watched on this is just hung up on the bad callbacks and have nothing to say about the way they tried to at least work at making the lore more consistent.
Big chap was blown to pieces by decompression in the first book
I would hope pt2 goes with the ending of covenant and the planet rein wants to go to is really the same planet the covenant colony was going to
Killing off Big Chap off screen after all this time is honestly bigger insult than how Alien 3 started
Wow, I'm working on this movie right now too!
the hell are all these ads?
SWEET! This was a nice little surprise tonight!! You gotta love the epic FoundFlix Ending Explained video's!!
The part where the xeno makes a cocoon I think there still is a queen but she only lays facehugger eggs and the facehuggers impregnate live host like a parasite and the xeno evolves from there, kinda like a tarantula hawk.
Definitely the best alien movie since the original imo.
Perfect timing! Only just watched this film last week! It’s amazing. If anyone is wondering whether to watch it, it’s a return to form for the series.
PS - agree with the “on the nose” comment about some of the referencing. A touch heavy-handed at times, but I’ll excuse it!
Man, I love horror, but I'd love it to see you branch out to new, old, your favorites, etc. Either way, it's great 😊
Can you do "Don’t Turn Out The Lights"
I don’t know the connection between all these movies 100% but man did that baby thing look like the engineers from Prometheus makes me def feel there’s a greater connection
It is Novarro, not Kay, who says that Andy is not a real person after he is told that he won't be travelling on and must stay on the ship

Wasn’t the Sigourney’s voice making a ship’s computer voice announcement?
