At age 17 I met a Veteran of World War 2. This was 30 some odd years after the war ended and he was an old and crippled man. After all that time, he wept like a baby relating his memory of liberating a concentration camp. He saw things he couldn't bring himself to tell us, but the story he did tell us is seared in my memory. He fought Fascism and was scarred forever by the experience. He didn't say "That would never happen here." He said, "For the love of God, don't ever let that happen here."
We are on the brink of that happening here.

The best President this country had in a long time...He promised to make America energy independent and he did, he promised open up coal mines in Pennsylvania ( creating thousands of jobs ) and he did, he promised to move US Embassy to Jerusalem and he did ( Obama and the rest of them promised that too but didn't have a stomach to comply with campaign promises).
He promised to stop illegal immigration and he did, vetting process was moved to Mexico which provided 28K soldiers to oversee the new policy and US didn't pay a penny. He promised to make economy prosperous and he did, 70% of Americans called it "excellent or good". ( if you want to challenge me on this I refer you to ABC Marsha Radatz interview with Democratic billionaire Tom Stayer who decided to run for President in 2020 on economy ). He dismantled ISIS ( entire political and military teams advised Obama not to withdraw the troops from Iraq but he did, created vacuum was immediately filled up with people called themselves Caliphate ) as he said he would.
He rebuilt military giving generals all they asked for and have created a Space force ( China and Russia full steam ahead with Space force and Biden canceled that). Creating operation "Warp Speed", showing tremendous leadership at the toughest times for the nation the vaccine was developed and delivered to America for less than a year when nobody believed possible laughing at it calling it "Trump's vaccine". He asked NATO members to do 2% of the GDP as they supposed to and they did except Germany and we all see today how right he was. He signed into the law " The First Step Act" allowing convicts ( predominantly Afro Americans who served longer than half of their sentences for nonviolent crimes ) out of prison as a 2nd chance ( and Van Jones from CNN standing behind the President applauding him...).
The most impressive achievement of a Biblical proportion is an Abraham accord in the Middle East creating a peace in the region and nominated for Nobel peace Prize ( I think two times). If Obama ( who I voted twice for, has sent " Special Envoy for Middle East Peace " led by George Mitchell who came back empty handed ) did third of it not to mention half of it Democrats, Medea and you too would call him Greatest President ever but he didn't. President Trump did. Did I mention record unemployment for all of the minorities in this country?
He stopped N Korea testing nuclear weapon and made them to meet with S Korea for the first time in history of both Koreas (absolutely remarkable achievement in foreign policies).
He made the World a peaceful place for the entire four years making America great, working for the People and not for the special interests groups, marking his years in the White House as an unequivocal success he did every one and each campaign promise in spite of being distracted, harassed, viciously attacked and openly sabotaged by all of the Media, Big Tech, hostile Congress and everybody else who wasn't lazy on the daily bases with one purpose only to bring him down. The most honest and effective President by far.

The Supreme Court's new code of ethics DOES provide clarification. Many people may have assumed the Justices are accountable for corrupt behavior, and this "advisory" code clarifies that they're not.

Where on this earth did you attend a class on American Civics? We went to different schools. You go and ask yoru representative where they stand on Israel and demand an answer. The saddest part of all of this is that thousands of his own party will be in those camps. He already has his list of people he will deem traitors to him, not the party but him. You won’t be able to escape either.

One thing that bothers me about this reporting is that no one mentions that the military would refuse. As an enlisted veteran I still remember being taught what were legal and illegal orders and being taught I MUST refuse unlawful orders. He may want to do these things but it would take the entire military agreeing for it to happen. I wish someone would include the fact that the military is required to refuse these sort of orders by law.
Unfortunately, too many members of our military revere Trump and would follow him and his illegal orders. My Dad was USAF and disgusted to be the only Democrat on every base where he was stationed. He heard conversations in officers' clubs, open often loud discussions to harm Democratic presidents and pledges to follow only republican presidents. My Dad would come home shaking his head wondering if our entire military was dangerous to democracy. Is it ? We need to know. I ask active duty and veterans to search your hearts. When you must choose, will you keep your oath to our constitution ? Many members of congress did not and still do not. Does your oath matter to you? It matters to us.
There are also plans to “vet” the military, especially officers. Reportedly they are using AI to search social media postings to identify those members of the military that support Trump. All non-supporters would be forced out. And all military would have to take an oath to support Trump, not the constitution.
The 2024 election is probably the most important election since 1874! Vote 💙 to save our democracy! 💙🇺🇸😎🇺🇸

I love hearing from Dahlia Lithwick! She has a brilliant legal mind. It's surprising that the Supreme Court has acted as they have now in regards to their "ethical conduct". It's a start of sorts, but the Court needs to do more. This shows that they still think they are better than everyone else, but they have heard us. Now, if they "decide" to act more ethically, at least some of them, it could be a good thing. If. But will they? Some how, I think that Alito and Thomas will continue to thumb their noses at us. Rules are for everyone else, but not them.

One aspect of the scandals about the Justices' behavior in recent years has tended to be overlooked. It goes beyond the specifics of Thomas' accepting a "loan" that seems not to have been repaid and his and others benefiting from hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of "free" luxury trips, etc. These people live in a world of wealth and privilege that is completely removed from the lives of ordinary Americans. They have no conception of what it is like to work two jobs, be unable to afford even a brief vacation (much less one that involves travel), or to have to decide between paying the rent and buying medication or food. How can they possibly make reasonable decisions that will affect every American when they lack all perspective on ordinary American life? It's almost inevitable that people who travel in those circles will end up saying, in effect, "Let them eat cake." They simply have no clue.

I'd be interested in seeing a 30 year historical chart that shows how the SCOTUS has ruled on both criminal arguments and financial arguments - wonders if there's a pattern of findings that favor lucrative results for one party or another and if there's a pattern of findings, on the criminal side, that lends solid credibility to the thought that we do, in fact, have a tiered justice system that favors the wealthy over everyone else.

The supreme court needs to "go back to the board and try again", as I said in English class when blackboard efforts failed to produce complete sentences. The GOP needs to stop sleeping in class and wake up to where they are headed. They are in denial to themselves, the country, and true Republicans about where Trump is leading them. They are focused on winning at all costs but they need to think about the cost. I wish Hamas , the Palestinians, who must have known Hamas was up to something, and the Israelis and Biden would pause and really think about that cost too. They are a perfect example of trying to win something but destroying everything instead. What did Hamas expect would happen and I understand Biden is standing up for a Democratic state but why are we supporting genocide? If Israel disregards Biden's requests, he should turn away.
