In 1939, most fascist parties in the west were just banned, and their representatives expelled.
Although I agree with voting nearly every current _Republican_ out of office (& not voting for any other so-called Republicans at any time in the foreseeable future), the main reason is that they are no longer actual GOP Republicans. They are members of the *Maniacal Acrimonious Gaslighters Association* (aka MAGA), Federalist Society, &/or Heritage Foundation cults. The best way to keep a union out of your business is to treat your employees as though they have a very powerful union and voice in the company, best pay, best conditions, and overall working conditions & environment in which every employee has value.

Exactly right. Why is it so hard for companies to treat their workers fairly and correctly, while the leaders pocket fistfuls of cash for themselves and their shareholders?
We seem to be entering a new era where people are saying we’ve had enough of being mistreated, similar to eras of the past which have resulted in the great unions forming to defend employees from being taken advantage of. History and modern times have consistently shown the necessity of employee unions, it’s time to admit they need to be present everywhere and never go away.
As seen from the egregious behavior of Starbucks, Amazon etc unions are necessary.
This ruling on the Voting Rights Acts sounds more like legislation instead of interpretation of the law. It appears that the Appeals Court should stay in it’s lane…

From far away sleepy Switzerland, I watch this happen all over the world, with a queasy feeling : Feed up fearfull masses, voting for brutal and egomaniacal "strong men", as if in belief these fascistoid father figures could be able to magic away the complex problems humanity faces, with easy fixes and finger pointing. It seems so regressive.

I have always been such a vocal proponent of the judicial branch acting as a check on politics to protect the rights of citizens.

I am so sad to hear that. I'm coming up on 40, and I take my 10 year old daughter with me when I vote, every single election from local to national. I show her what I'm doing, I talk about candidates and issues, and she's just soaking it in. I drill into her head just how bad tRump is when a relevant topic comes up to counteract her father's mother, her Mimi and maybe more of his family!

I'm struggling to wrap my head around the justification for this ruling. Can someone explain the legal basis for restricting the rights of a U.S. citizen or entity to contest the validity of a law? That seems like a core tenant of a system of government of the people, by the people, for the people.
