I wish they had a better motive other than "I love spelunking" a clear one like "I need to save my parents" or "I need to save my dog" or even "I need to break this curse" but it seems like they are exploring the caves just because they love adventures and they have no real stakes. I think Ana was a nice choice but I agree that Liz was a bit odd, I think the idea of a camp with other characters would be the best option, they could also say something like "spelunking with friends is even more fun" to reference the fact that playing Spelunky multiplayer is great. Other than that, I thought the animation and style were pretty cool and I loved the 3D aesthetics.
1.Quick explanation for why Liz was likely picked, Liz is just one of the more popular characters, and you get them early on normally. Plus they probably just wanted a girl character to support Ana. 2.I agree that the whole thing felt rushed, I think they could've definitely expanded in a ton of places. 3.The visuals were great, so if they expanded it I would love that. ---OK, now time for some ideas of how this could've been improved or how it could just be expanded into its own thing. I say they should've spent more time on Ana learning things about the environments and enemies (Things like how do they react to things) and how in future runs she improves. They could've definitely shown Ana having more of a reason to doing these death runs. If they expanded this into a show or miniseries, it would be cool to learn more about the world of Spelunky, since within the games you only have a few things of text that explain stuff; like maybe they could have something looking into the ice cave aliens and things like their cloning of the shop keep. It is obvious that they knew a decent amount about Spelunky, it is just they didn't do enough with the material that they had.
I understand why they didn't have her "win", I think it just wouldn't have felt earned (since the EP is so short). But there's still ways to work in something meaningful :/
First off, Liz is the most goated spelunker so ill take it even if more/other appearances would've been cool. Other than that, the aesthetics were great but obviously they episode/story should've been longer. I would've loved to follow an entire successful (or very close) run so we could spend a bit more time in each area, while what we got felt a bit like a slideshow (albeit a very pretty one) of recognizable imagery. And I think the ending was fine honestly, its very in tune with spelunky's themes anyways. And once again if we just got more time in the episode I don't think it'd feel as anticlimactic.
imo that episode is kinda whacky for a 3d animation, if it was like a cartoon episode it would probably come better for me, especially because you could easily know who who is
@@GUERREIRO4610 It's like 7 minutes long. Though I'm used to short stories from the studio that created this, this did feel way too short. I'll definitely recommend it tho!! Its a nice short, with a stunning artstyle and beautiful depictions of Spelunky areas.

Yes I agree with the visuals. Didn’t touch on that in the video but you’re right

Thanks for sharing! I have no issue with Liz obviously just thought it was an odd choice, and I agree with most of what you said
i assume that the short abruptly ends there because the creator never actually won when trying it out lol
Hey Liz is classic okay
No shade towards Liz, just thought it was an odd choice
