kind of a late answer, but durham is full of outdoor opportunities! most of these are centered around our bodies of water. furthest from downtown, duke forest centers around new hope creek. it's some of the best preserved piedmont mixed forest anywhere in the southeastern us. also out there is the triangle land conservancy, which maintains several trails and (among other things) aims to revive native american land stewardship practices, including prairies maintained through controlled burns. somewhat closer to town is the eno river state park, centered around - you guessed it - the eno river. the spot with the dam in this video was west point on the eno. closest to town is the north-south greenway, a collection of trails along ellerbe creek which goes right through downtown, specifically durham central park (also as seen in the video). i know this response is a year late, but i hope this helps!
A little late to respond. The Spring and Summer are great times to come. Downtown is very active during those times. Some places to visit: Sarah P Duke Garden, Nasher Museum, Lemur Center, Eno River, 21C Hotel (art galleries there), and great food anywhere you go Downtown and out.
Durham is diverse,. It is my hometown, I love Durham. This video shows only one side, I get that its purpose is to promote Durham

Looks like its becoming Portland 2.0 and thats not a good sign.
@@LongLeggedOne Durham, yes.
Durham was cooler. Money tends to ruins things. Most of its originality has been erased and replaced. It’s still cool but not as it once was.
@@notmyrealname6150 is Durham dangerous?
