Thanks for the video, the first decent one (perhaps the only one!) that talks about XBox performance. As a Series X user, I am concerned about how well 2024 will perform. At least you seem quite positive about it which is good. Thanks for taking the time to make the video.
Hudds ... As ever another excellent video. As an occasional flyer it's hard to imagine how 2024 will be a massive improvement over 2020, which I find to be excellent on Xbox X.
I really appreciate you taking the time and trouble to look into the effect the 2024 will have on Xbox ... This is the first I've seen... Thank you.... As an Xbox.S user I think I will convert, but only when all the many bugs are sorted.... I only use the Sim to Fly/Navigate...I'm really not interested in the roll play/Gaming side.... So for me the only advantag 13:06 e of the 2024 would be scenic, which the Xbox S isn't best able to take advantage of perhaps.... Interestingly from a number of videos I've seen, subjectively I think the 2020 clouds are far more realistic and have higher definition than the 2024 clouds.... Again massive thanks.. Roger As an aside...With Xbox it is totally unacceptable to expect blank screens in glass cockpits...After 4 years of 2020 still getting blank screens is outrageous...
Thanks for the video. I am on an Intel 10600 and a RTX3060ti, 32 GB of RAM paired with a 1440p monitor. I believe I will get decent FPS with a mix of medium and high settings. I hope so at least. Time to get back to flying! Can't wait.
Thanks for the video, I’m not expecting a huge improvement in 2024 I would be happy if I don’t get black screens while using pmdg 737 and it runs a bit smoother and the lod is improved I’m sticking with the Xbox x so hope to see a tech alpha real soon
Thanks for mentioning console. I THINK...more like HOPE the Series X can handle this, I'm optimistic. I think the bigger issue - at least for me will be my internet speed handling all the cloud content.
Blank screens and and whole bag of other extra issue's.. i had to go through 5 procedures ever time to run it on S...delete storage and restart...reboot your super fibre broad band..delete date cache...make sure you havent any add ons...and then maybe just maybe you'll get it playing the default planes, bought an xbox x and not had one issue so far, and thats including adding all the add ons i bought.
Thank you for talking about the Xbox performance, or at least what you expect! It’s a nice refresher since we have absolutely nothing from MSFS or the devs about Xbox
Thank-you very much for making this video. Having watched your videos and others, I'm thinking that my Xbox 'S' will not give me the level of performance I want from MSFS2024 - especially with payware airports and aircraft, and active weather. So do I upgrade to an 'X' or go for a (significantly more expensive) PC?? I think I will take my time to decide. Cheers, and thank-you again.
Great vid but unfortunately based on my gameplay and reviews of others on Xbox it doesn’t load I’m not sure if this is the servers but not impressed with the release right now
Question for you. In real life you notice helicopters landing or taking off at class b or class d airports. Any idea if we might see this with msfs2024?
If the Series X can handle it - I really have no worries for my PC. People have to set their expectations about how much eye candy they'll get but I'm confident it will still be a good experience -IF- people with modest internet connections still get a solid experience.
Thanks for at least discussing it, for those of us who don’t even have a local server in their country, it will be interesting to see the performance and whether we just get the same rubbish redraw distances, and melted photogrammetry, yes with the lower resource usage due the the cloud based nature may make it more stable but I wait and see if it actually looks any better. If I could get the redraw distance you show on the Xbox I’d be one happy chappie.
Tom’s Hardware says FS2024 could draw as much as 180mbps in some areas, any thoughts on the likelihood that MS could actually support a large user base with that kind of cloud load?
I think they got the cruise ship industry wrong in San Francisco. No way are there that many cruise ships there at one time. There isn't anywhere near that amount even in the tropical ports. Yeah know this has nothing to do with the flight aspects.
I would guess Microsoft will try to optimize FS2024 so as not to overwhelm at least a Series X since there is no official plan to upgrade the console as yet. {Im on PC so I may be mistaken}
Waiting for fs24 to come out, not sure if I should get a pc gaming computer or the limited edition xbox. Only fs24 be on either one,, all my current computers are macs.. looking at spending 2-2500. Not sure what direction to go, I’ve asked ppl who told me pc, stay away from Xbox for flight sim… I’m just not sure.will also be getting full controls,,, any word to help me out.
Ahh Yes, forgive my previous question, if you saw this? I have now revisited your video title xD LOL silly me... Whi8lst I by now, understand for PC simmers, that there are much more optimisation etc, as in Multithreaded optimisations etc, and cloud performance etc.. BUT what about Xbox though? (i do not fly xbox, although i certainly have fs2020 on there) X? s? etc? who knows, time will say.
Sorry but I have X Box S and ill be amazed if i dont get black screens in 2024 like i do all the time with 3rd party aircraft and scenery in 2020. Thank god i have a PC.
Can I ask you, how is the performance on Series S generally (even with no 3rd party aircraft & scenery)? And have you tried helicopters on it? If so, does it keep a 30 fps?
Xbox s is terrible 80% of the time, purchases that dont function properly stutters ctd etc..i just brought a new xbox x and im now able to run a the add ons i bought, plus haven't had one ctd or stutter, so im quietly confident the 24 will run great after the bugs and issues get ironed out.
They were suppose to have released a improved memory for Xbox series s but was delayed while they focus on fs2024 release. I'm hoping they release the memory improvement soon so it can take advantage of both msfs2020 & Msfs2024. Any idea when patch might hit series s?
I believe the virtual memory adaptation is coming with FS2024 when released (which should help with memory issues on Xbox). it's a case of wait and see with this one.
@Huddison I was referencing what they called "GDK" memory on Xbox series s Asorbo was in middle of working on until the focus went to fS2024. They are suppose to return back & button the GDK memory Xbox up.
I'm really glad to find someone finally talking about xbox expectations.
Xbox is also part of my heritage 😄
@@HuddisonI have a series x and will have it on gamepass! Do you think it will run great

I think the biggest determination of how the sim runs and looks on Xbox will be how good and fast your internet connection is.

Great video I have no doubt it’s going to run great on my series X as 2020 runs very well for me and 24 will be far more optimized
The Series X may welk be the fore-runner for FS2024
Totally agree, i got rid of the S..terrible for msfs...but the X is night and day better.

It really depends on your budget & requirements.
My £700 PC build is abgood option - if you decide to go down that route.
Don’t worry. FS2024 will do just fine on the S. Everyone is just panicking over assumptions.
If you play on game pass stream it on S. it should be better like series X version on cloud.
Thanks for sharing some love with Xbox pilots. o7

Let's hope so; there was lots of traffic in the FS2024 Alpha.

We said; I concur.
As soon as you get your hands on the game I am curious if the support of controls are better. If Thurstmaster rudders work without the stick.
The way the Xbox works, I think you'll still be required to connect the rudders via the Stick.
this says nothing the alfa is a very curtailed version, better wait until its really out.
if i purchase FS2024 for Xbox then switch to PC will I be able to transfer my account or do I need to purchase the PC version separately?
The Microsoft store version will cover you on both.
I would be interested in the xbox CLOUD online gaming Performance.
So I dont need a new rig.
I find it incredibly concerning that there’s been no Xbox footage shown.
I agree and find it concerning too. Let's hope they show it running on the Xbox platform before launch.

Yes, a decent(ish) bandwidth will be required.

Mine 133 Mbps so I should be ok

On my Xbox it will stutter like he'll if the air space is busy. You have to turn alot off.
Will your downloads from 2020 be transferred when you buy 2024 game like airports you have previous bought.
Not sure what airports and sceneries will be fully compatible as of yet.

One of the pitfalls of the Alpha (perhaps somewhat purposely populated).
