Man Kit, I sure owe you one- our 2011 GMC Acadia-Danelli, strarted suddenly to run ruff, engine lite flashing, then stayed on...stated smelling gas, lots of exaust smoke- was only 2 miles from home made it back. Later that day a friend of a friend came by and made a computer check- "say's your only running on 3 cylinders! we thought oh-boy here comes some expensie mechanic work....then later that night I started youtube searching- getting all kinds of complicated and seemingly expensive repair speculations, then I saw your video- which was so clear and easy to understand. the next morning, I got under the hood- popped the cover off, and started looking, and what do you know, on the left hand side of the intake manifold- there it was a diconnected air line, it plugs into a spout on the intake manifold, that piece was kinda loose. I took it out wiped it clean plugged it in, on the nipple of it, I put 1 layer of electric type tape, stuck the hose on, it was firm...conneccted the hose to the part it originally poped out out, cleaned it up and wrapped that up real good. started the the idels smooth, even engine light went out. test drived- good performance, light never came back on. will get another computer check, have them clear previous warnings, then re-check- like you did in your video. your video was right on target with our cars problem- vacume leak...thank you one- million times and may God bless you.- Eliot-(originally from Detroit) now in Switzerland.

    DEAR SIR,
YOUR DIAGNOSTICS THOUGHTS ARE THE BEST I HAVE SEEN ON RUclips. YOU ARE WELL ORGANIZED TO GET TO THE ISSUES AT HAND, YOUR FREEZE FRAMES DATA FOR BOTH CODES ARE SO HELPFUL AND PERFECTLY EXPLAINED TO SUPPORT THE ISSUE.
YOU HAVE. FIXED THE MALFUNCTION IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER FOR A LONG TIME.
YOU ARE PERFECT ON BOTH GASOLINE AND DIESEL ENGINES. THANKS A MILLION.
    KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

Absolutely super Video sir. I really appreciate it. my trusty ACADIA had the same issue about 3 years ago .. and I had to dig hard to find that fitting & it's broken cap. Just yesterday (3 years later) My dash lit up again. The cap was gone! Because it was only 3 years old, I think is possible an engine back fire might blow it off so I'm putting a clamp on it this time.
The traction control must utilize vacuum also because in both instances the traction light came on at the same time my Chk engine came on.
I learned that fitting is present because Buick Enclave uses the same engine. Unlike Acadia, the Enclave controls the stiffness of the front engine mount in real time. The fitting you found is the vacuum source for that purpose.
Thanks again for the great video!

Thank you for posting a nice close-up view of all the codes and the total number of modules on each vehicle at the top of your prescan, this can come in handy sometimes as some other scan tools will give no clue when a module is totally down and not reporting any codes and no way to know if it is dead. Your mechanic stethoscope would have easily found that huge vacuum leak and no need for the smoke machine and all the time to hook that up and charge this extra time to the customer. Thanks for the case study. Would it be ok to include the year and engine size in the title of the video please?

On the 07/08 Arcadia that's just an unused vacuum Port from the factory it just has a simple black plug put on it they get old dry rotted and fall off over the ownership years of my Acadia are replaced it over three times and yes it'll make the vehicle go lean
And at idle it makes the motor shake like it has a misfire put a 25-cent plug on it and you're done.

Thanks for your video Deo Kitoko, I am learning a lot with them. I rebuild a Hyundai Genesis Coup but i am getting same codes it is difficult to find the intake leak without that smoke machine. But if there is no leak i believe the other cause can be fuel pressure. then i replace the fuel pump but not the fuel filter (big). It is my sons car and he removed the Catalyzers can this be another reason for same codes?

Hi Brother, found out your RUclips car diagnostic and fixing few months ago. Great work! How I wish your shop is around New York area. I have a 2006 Hyundai Elantra GLS sedan which the catalytic converter was stolen. Bought a new one from a local automatic store get it welded back. A P0420 code appeared. After 100 miles of driving, check engine light goes off. After about 60 to 80 miles of driving, P0420 and P0650 appeared. Went for a gas refill, the gas pump keeps stopping filling up gas. Change a new gas cap, P0455 appeared. No more P0420! After driving another 100 miles, P0455 and P0420 appears again, may I ask what's the probable problems!
