I absolutely love this thank you so much I needed to see this 🖤 please pay attention to how he talks about blacks being labeled He said “they were the ones who made us the bafoons, the studs, and the mammies” and he’s right but to me white people aren’t the problem nowadays I think people like Cardi B is the problem people who aren’t black but play into the negative black stereotypes are the problem!!!

He makes a good point at the end; saying "black is beautiful" does not imply exclusivity of beauty. That is a thought trap that we collectively seem to make these days.

@@GAZAMAN93X I did not state that nobody said white isn't beautiful. I'm sorry you missed my point. Didn't you get the memo? People can't even say: it's okay to be white. Not only is pride demonized, just being okay with being white is horrificly racist. Feel free to attempt to argue against that. What hijacking is going on, exactly? I don't want to hear that white is beautiful. Having to state it over and over kind of implies it isn't true. To each their own though. Have at it.

David, you have the greatest channel on all of RUclips. The untold history and stories of everyday folk is real gold, man. What you got out of these people is really something to be cherished, so well done. We see industry pundits winning awards for making up languages and having blue people save the universe, but all of that is meaningless when one watches real people with real stories. You sir, are a global treasure.

I loved hearing this man speak. I hear what he is saying and I see where his feelings are coming from. I grew up in the 50’s and 60’s and I can look back now and say he is speaking the truth. I am white and grew up in an all white rural town in a white state. I remember the minstrel shows and the all white television shows and the news showing all the unrest in the south. It breaks my heart to know how any human being can treat another in such a horrendous way because of the color of their skin. You can never expect one to do well in life if they are constantly condemned and made fun of and told they are worthless or less of a human being than another no matter what the color of their skin. Unfortunately, there are families who treat their children this way regardless of the color of their skin. Prejudices are passed down from generation to generation in many families. It’s sad that people can not treat others as they wish to be treated themselves. I was fortunate to have been raised in a family without these prejudices.

As someone who can see all sides of an issue or argument, and as someone who is mixed this is a very difficult time for me. It’s frustrating because I don’t believe that violence breeds anything but more violence and some people, not everyone, don’t understand that and they keep trying to push these violent ideas or actions such as “an eye for an eye” or “a death for a death”. Yes the men that have killed should be prosecuted, but at the same time that’s like telling someone who has gotten a dishonorable discharge from service that they need to pay even more. That dishonorable discharge makes it hard for them to get another job, it ruins their reputation, their lives in some cases. I’m not saying that it’s enough of a punishment, but there is the fact that they are being punished in one way or another. We are not god we are not better than those who kill if we choose to kill and hurt others back. Especially because of the color of our skin we cannot come off barring our teeth because the moment we do we are going to continue to be seen in the same light that we always are. There are a lot of people peacefully protesting but there are also those that are taking advantage of the movement and using it to be violent back to our oppressors. Which again, not all cops are like that. Not all White people are like that. It is a societal norm that begins and lives in the home first. I’m only 19 years old and I can already see that my generation has been the most diverse, accepting, and mixed, in every meaning of the word, than any other generation. I’m tired of seeing my mixed sister who is fair skinned say she isn’t black. I’m tired of seeing so many people fight one another. I’m sick of all the hate. There is so much love in the world but it’s being snuffed out by the hate that’s trying to rear it’s ugly head into our hearts. This needs to stop but violence will never be the answer. Sorry for the paragraph, I just got tired of of being told that “if I’m silent I’m with the oppressor”. This is like saying “if you’re not with me, you’re against me” and that could not be farther from the truth. Just because someone is silent, that doesn’t mean they don’t support you or your cause. Have a great day to whoever is reading this, and I hope that you and your family safe and well in this time of political unrest. Stay safe out there for those who are protesting, and as always peacefully state your case and rally, protest, gather, inform, but never riot, harm, disrespect, dehumanize. We are all human on this planet, wether we like it or not, we need to be more accepting of others differences and celebrate them, not battle for the spot of the “one on top” because we think there should be a dominant race or ethnicity

At 19 you are at your most idealistic way a thinking. Sadly most lose that mindset the more life we live.
Right now, right and wrong is at it's most obvious to you without a lot of excuses and twisting of the narative.
The most important thing about forming opinions, espcially ones this important.
Is having all of the facts.
      Knowing the truth.
Without tons of reasearch, you are way too young to know yourself by blatant obvious comparison, the monumental depth of the of political LIES and propaganda being pumped 24/7 to the public through every method of communication possible, for the last seven years.
Listen carefully to the reporting. The LIES may not be obvious to you, but the intent behind what is being said is very obvious if you pay attention. Then you WILL know.
Incredible stories of corruption without a single mention of the source of such information.
No investgative reporter telling the story of how this amazing corruption was uncovered. No concern expressed about the harm to the public or national security that this can cause.
Open ended questions that they don't ever answer. They just leave it up to your imagination to believe the worst that they have implied about the target person they have named.
The actual source or the deliberate disclosure and clearly named sources stated at the top is the most important for recognizing that what you are hearing is the truth and also an abundance of concern for the level of harm that what you are hearing could cause us, the American public.
The very best of luck to you and your sister.
Absolutely, yours is the generation with the power to change attitudes. Because you are so understandably sick of hearing about it.

Black Power: The full message by Stokely Carmichael was "Black Empowerment"....It was shorted to "Black Power".
    2. Power- Avenues of education, entrepreneurship, political savvy and influence, real estate. Not "get white".
    3. As a young black kid in Detroit I studied the hell out of this topic. Marcus Garvey was really the originator of this mindset- That's for another day.

Since my earliest memory I felt and understood Malcom X. Black power was my moral code growing up. I played sports. So Black people were other people who could play sports like me. They were my friends. I wrestled, played football, baseball and basketball with Black American kids. I never felt comfortable with racism. I have received reverse racism from some Black people, but that is very uncommon.
I received real racism from a Jewish neighbor once. An older girl tricked me into an in-ground garbage can we had. Then she stood on top of the garbage can and wouldn't let me out. I had an incredibly claustrophobic moment locked in the steel underground garbage can.
My neighbor's father was in Auschwitz. He had tattooed numbers on his arm. He was a very kind man. My neighbor asked "Why did you do that?". She said "You know Ricky, he's not like us. He's not Jewish". I cried and ran home.
I think all people in groups are pretty irresponsible and stupid. All you need to see this clearly, is go to Twitter. No group is some moral example of purity. There has never been a group of people who are morally just. People are much better when they are independent thinking and separated from their political, racial and religious groups. When Black Power becomes toxic, that is when it is no longer cool.

In a world where the majority gets to dictate everything (whether it’s right or wrong), resistance to that is absolutely necessary just to validate one’s own existence. 'They' apparently did nothing but evil things. 'They' never allowed this man to get an education, or hold down a decent job, or influence the greater culture, or work for a better future for his descendants; 'they' just told lies and looked after their own. 'They' didn't let him openly express his feelings, until his insides curdled with hatred for 'them'...except that, by his own words and deeds, it's clear that this wasn't really what happened.
"The worst thing you can do to a human being is to make her or him believe he doesn't count..." If that is the worst thing one human can do to another, then why are there currently multiple movements dedicated to just such a goal? Because all it takes is a quick look around to know that it's perfectly acceptable to hate, defame, and attack 'them'.
