I think we should have started with what death means.
Death is simply a separation of the soul and the body (the two things whose union makes a living human being).
When the second Person of the Trinity became man, he took up, not only a physical body, but also a spiritual soul. He took on man's full nature.
So, Jesus is a Divine Person with a Divine nature that also took up a human nature.
When Jesus died, a Divine Person died. Hence, God died.
What the statement means is that this Divine person's soul got separated from His Body, which happens with every man.
The diffeence then is that the Soul and Body were that of a Divine Person as opposed to human person.
In addition, saying that a human being died is different from saying that the soul died.
At death, the whole is broken down into its constituent parts. Human nature breaks down into soul and body.
Soul would have to be broken down into its components in order for it to be dead.

    1) 1 Timothy 6 says that God is the only immortal one. Being immortal means that you are unable to die
    2) Stating that death doesn’t mean non existence, is not an answer, because no one claims that’s the case from a theist background.
    3) stating point 2, does not refute point 1, point 1 stands and I look forward to your response.
    4) God sent his son to pay for our sins to ransom us and bring us into fellowship with his Father. Claiming that only God had to die and not his son (because God can’t exult Christ to such a position) is ad hoc. There is no rule in the bible that states this position of yours. It’s an Athanasian argument being reused in modern times.

DID GOD DIE ON THE ✝️ ?
If you know the movie Iron Man, the guy inside that suit (Robot) is Tony Stark. Since Tony Stark took on the suit it doesn't make Tony Stark a Robot, he is still a man in a suit. So when the suit was destroyed, Tony Stark wasn't destroyed but the suit was destroyed. Now use the same anology for Jesus.
Jesus has 2 natures( God nature and human nature).
      John 4:24
[24]God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
We read that God is Spirit.
      John 1:1-3,14
[1]In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
[2]He was with God in the beginning.
[3]Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
[14]The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
The Word who is God is Jesus and this Word was with God( the Father) in the beginning. In verse 14 we read the Word(Jesus) became flesh(human). This doesn't make God a man because he took on flesh. He is inside that flesh like Tony Stark when he's in a suit.
So since God who is Spirit took on flesh, when he was crucified the flesh he took on in John 1 v 14 is the one that died, but the "Spirit" inside that flesh didn't die. So in other words the human nature died but the God nature didn't die.
      Notice this...
      John 2:19-21
[19]Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”
[20]They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?”
[21]But the temple he had spoken of was his body.
Jesus simply said they should kill him, and in 3 days "he"(himself) will raise himself (the flesh he took on) to life again. So if Jesus was a just a human like me and you and not God, how could he raise himself up because only God can raise the dead.
What raised the dead body( flesh) was Spirit that was in that flesh.

God did not die. He cannot die. He is everlasting.
The body He made, which was/is called son of God, died on the cross. The body died terrestrial, but it is raised celestial; and it still has the title “Son of God”. Although The Spirit in the body is God Almighty.

Question: If natural disasters are caused by God as punishment for our sins, it implies that we're coerced into believing in Jesus under threat of death by disasters.

    • @okuhle_h
      @okuhle_h 6 месяцев назад +7

Firstly, Natural disasters aren’t caused by God-God gifted us with a beautiful earth with everything we need to live healthy lives but because of our recklessness and greed we have done all these things to earth which then cause these natural disasters not God.
Of all Jesus’ teachings, the most important of all them is love-love is free, you cannot enforce it on someone else, hence God has given us freewill and it is then up to us whether we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and spend eternity with Him or we choose to live a life seperate from God meaning we’d also spend eternity away from God because God respects our freewill.
To conclude, Jesus Christ has already taken the punishment for our sins and offers eternal life with Him as a gift but as I’ve mentioned we also have freewill so it is up to us to accept the gift or we can choose to take our own punishment-Jesus loves you, and He’d like to see you in heaven with Him, He’s knocking, waiting for you to open the door, Try Him.❤️✝️

God doesn't want his creation to be stuck existing in an imperfect world marred by pain, disasters, and death, which is why He has provided an opportunity for new life in a perfect paradise without those things. The decision to trust in Jesus is not based on coercion, but based on a warning that eternal death is real and God only desires to spend eternity with those who have desired and believed in His love for them through Christ's sacrifice.

    • @Dash-lb8cd
      @Dash-lb8cd 5 месяцев назад +3

Nothing bad is caused by God. It's our fault that sin entered creation when we betrayed God and didn't trust and listen to Him, which caused a separation against the Holy Creator, which means bad things happening.
