I know this video is somewhat dated but I have a question. When I use the powder check system the brass plunger somehow expels powder from the case. Not sure if it is during the down stroke and pushing air out of the case carries powder with it or if powder sticks to the brass end and is “pulled” out of the case as the shell plate goes down. Either way the problem stops when I disable the powder check. If I use it, I end up with powder on top of the shell plate after just a few rounds. I am loading 9mm and using the brass plunger that seems like the best fit. I think it is the largest of the three. Am I using the wrong brass ended probe (to big?) or has anyone else experienced this problem?
I had exactly the same problem especially on a short case like 9mm. I concluded that the brass plunger was forcing air our of the case and that turbulence cause the powder spillage. I used a smaller brass plunger and that seemed to minimize the problem. That was my wild guess but I Wish someone would address this issue.
I just set my 750 up yesterday and ran off 50 9mm loads. I had a lot of tweaking to do so somewhere I got distracted and had a squib load at the range today. I have been loading for about 10 years now and things happen no matter how careful we are. I Ordered the powder check die with my 750 but its on backorder. I would highly recommend getting one with a progressive setup. As far as thinking about getting a 750..... Do it!! I have been loading on a 550 for awhile and am blown away so far with the 750. It did take a lot of tweaking to get it running perfectly but I think it's gonna be a great edition.
@@ernieparker4309 Thanks for your input and advice. Did you buy from Dillon or local? I'd like to buy the full 750 package, but feel the $1400 is too much. Then have to pay more for the powder check, along with other equipment I don't have.
@@TXH1138 I ordered from Dillon, they gave me %10 off for military.The packages are nice but you can probably save some money if you build your own unless you need everything in theirs.
