    Very good explanation, thank you for talking about the colors and how to make the patient sit up and how you can tilt the wheelchair back to ensure proper position of patient. I am a new user of my hoyer lift for my husband at home.

    What colors do you put to have the client in a sitting position I do home health aid here in New York City my patient has the same sling I’m still learning how to do the hoyer lift .

      For the sitting position, I use the loops closest to the sling for small patients. Medium second closet. And so on depending on the patient's size! Hope this helps

    Hard to do that when they cannot bend their knees and are over 250lbs its so hard I've been struggling to do it my client is so huge but I'm trying ❤thanks for this video

      You don't have to bend there knees you just gently help roll them on their sides to adjust the sling properly you attach the loops and pretty much push the lift the there sitting place and lower them but it's better to use one hand on the crank and the other on the loop in the back of the sling to help put them in the chair as close to the back and up right as good as you can get it if that kinda makes sense lol sorry explaining it is harder than doing it 😂

      @jasminetaylor975 yeah every person is different and physically not all are able to do what we want and able to move and roll on side when they are completely immobile and overweight Like 300lbs obesity is a big issue also trying to move these bigger clients in and out of bed to /w/chair and shower using hoyer been a challenge 🙆😅

    If without the hoyer lifting, it is better to use the 'Telison positioning bed pad with handles' to help patient on transfering by two persons' assist. It could be ordered from US amazon.

    Once the patient is in the wheelchair, what is the best way to get the sling out from underneath them?

    • @deborahlivingston720
      @deborahlivingston720 4 дня назад

      Use a divided leg sling to easily remove when the patient is sitting in a wheelchair

    Why not use electric one??

    • @jaxxo.397
      @jaxxo.397 11 месяцев назад +1

      While quite convenient, not every home, or Facility, will receive an electric Hoyer lift. It could be an insurance decision, based on cost. So, it's better to learn how to use a manual lift.

    She does not know what she is doing. The sling part around the legs does NOT go on the outside - it goes between the legs and cross link such that the rightside sling hooks to the left of the cradle and the leftside to the right cradle hook so the patient does not slip out.

      That’s what I was thinking because in my placement we put between legs and cross it

      Impractical in a home setting. These companies don't send two aides to each immobile patient for in home care. We are on our own. In a facility you'll likely have help, but I am very thankful for the proper techniques for doing it alone!
