I'm hoping to see Milton, Wallace at RT, Strange at C, Robertson at LG, Bell at TE, and Polk at WR. If not, Mayo should be shown the door. Wolfe should be gone regardless.

Mayo had no connections at this point. I'm a believer in Coaching and the positional Coaching on this team is horrible. Do not mess up this Kids(Maye) career. Where i the HC to protect the player? Mayo seems so desperate to win he is not 'playing the kids (TE's, WR's et al from rookie class)' and doing everything possible to win (playing the vets), including playing the knocked-out kid. Mayo sold Thunder, who inflicted this dumpster fire on us. So NOT hard on Mayo - if anything I see the Boston sports crews circling the wagons and holding back, undoubtedly due to long-standing relationships. Bear this in mind - Mayo is not now, nor will he in the future, show signs of growth and learning. He may defer decisions to others, but after 20 years, this is what he is. BB knew it - and the 8 OC's who interviewed for the role and declined knew something was off too. Mayo the guy is one thing, Mayo the HC is another.
Every season should be about winning every single game until you are eliminated from the playoffs. From then on, it should be about evaluating your roster and trying out pieces you haven't had a chance to see in proper action yet.

This season was a complete coaching disaster, I didn't see learning curves, I saw a head coach who's in way over his head. Kraft owes it to the organization and fans to at least entertain interviewng Ben Johnson and Mike Vrabel. McDaniel will most likely join Vrabel and nobody can question McDaniels ability to run a high performing offense. Maybe even keep AVP around as a QB coach, and of course bring in a capable DC... Maye a& Gonzo are still on a cheap contracts, we have the most money available, and likely the first overall pick... That's too much at stake to simply run it back again and watch next season go down in flames🔥
Playing Drake Maye would be STUPID. The only person it would potentially benefit is Mayo. It's not what's best for the New England Patriots. Play every other rookie. Especially the ones that can't get on the field on the worst team in the league. Let's see the GMs handy work before we go into one of the most important drafts in team history. Put it all out there for everyone to see. Anyone playing hurt is shut down. No heroics necessary at this point. This game is about unknown talent evaluation. Why should you be on this team? Hunter Henry should not play. Gonzalez has been on the injury report. If any keepable players get hurt in this game, it should be considered reckless desperation. This is what backup players are for. So instead of trying to push Mayo for this position, petition/complain to the GM - have HIM override and decide to sit starters, etc., because it is HIS job to plan/make decisions BEYOND this year -- again, not the coach's job.
Coaching for next season certainly is perplexing. Clearly changing OC for a 2nd year QB is not the best scenario. We've seen how that plays out here with Mac Jones even. But I think it all starts at the top with the HC. Not enough experience. So I think we need to see if Vrabel will come here. If so, do it. Then, he can decide whether to keep AVP or to bring his own OC. And we should see about changing DC either way. Not one good thing occurred on D this season. Also new WR coach. That room is way too dysfunctional. If we do all that the season will still be a marginal W-L year, maybe 6-11 or something like that at best. But that would be progress and the trend we want to see for the future.

I want to see if Joe Milton can be the #2 next year & the Pats can take another late round flier on a QB or do we need to bring in a veteran? I want to see if Caeden Wallace can man one of the OT spots. I was hoping they’d try him more at LT only because they told us they thought CW is athletic enough to play LT. I want to see more of Jaheim Bell. Is he strictly a move TE? Can he be a factor in the running game? Can he play FB out of the “I”? I want to see Javon Baker. Can he make someone in a wheel chair stand up or was he blowing smoke out his own behind? I am in no way fully judging this draft.It’s still too early. Not every WR is a rookie superstar. Not giving up on Polk & Baker or any of them. I’m expecting more from those two especially next season. This team clearly needs an elite edition at WR that can take the top off a defense. Not sure Arizona State WR Tetairoa McMillan is that type either. He is more a possession 50/50 type WR. He would be the compliment to the X-WR that the Patriots have been seeking. As far as drafting in the early first round. If you trade down, Safest pick NT/DT Mason Graham should be an option just as much as Edge Abdul Carter or CB Travis Hunter & CB Will Johnson. Patriots should walk away from round 1 with one of these guys. I’m also hoping that the Patriots still have the overall #1 after week 18 matchup against Buffalo. Ammo & more picks is the name of the game.
Everyone keeps focusing on the offense, but it’s the defense that is the bigger concern. I think Maye will continue to develop under AVP and some better personnel, but the defense is a train wreck that I don’t see getting better with the current coaching on that side of the ball.

The NFL pulls guys when they don't even have a concussion (like they did to Drake earlier this year) so the fact they allowed him to come back into the same game does not match up with your expert medical opinion. The NFL pulls guys when they don't even have a concussion (like they did to Drake earlier this year) so the fact they allowed him to come back into the same game does not match up with your expert medical opinion. I do agree they should sit Drake and if they want to use that excuse fine but stop acting like he had a head injury. Also to say the WR room is not devoid of talent is just insane. They have the worst WR in the NFL and probably a historically bad WR room. The best WR on the Pats might not be a starter on another team.
BS we just have the wrong type of recievers with the exception of Pop, we have slower recievers like Polk who rely on the O line to hold up so they can get open, all of them could play at another team today except Baker who needs more work.

If the goal is to lose the game for the draft pick, you should play Maye at 1-12 this season rather than Brissett at 2-1. You guys will be the laughing stock if Brissett (the better QB) goes out there and WINS the game. Mayo says he wants to win the game, so there is no reason to play Milton ahead of Brissett.

I think both Phil and Tom must have "gotten their bell rung", because all of a sudden they think that looking after Drake Maye's health is important, and they think that it might not be a great idea to fire Alex Van Pelt - both of which go directly against everything they've been saying for the past 6 weeks! I mean for 6 weeks now, several times a week, they rant and rave about how incompetent and inadequate Alex Van Pelt is and they ask over and over and over if he should be fired? They can say, "hey, it was just a question!" - but when you ask that same question dozens of times, it's really not a question any more, it's a proposal, an advocacy. Along with the drooling idiots hosting sports radio, they've got a lot to do with the lynching party of fans who want to see all these coaches fired. Now today they note that one of the players said that "That's the last thing Drake Maye needs" (no kidding!), and they actually recognize some good things AVP has done and make note that firing him could get you someone who is no better, or worse! They're finally making some sense, but what the hell have they been raving about for the past 6 weeks then???
