guys how do i get my kitten to go to the litterbox on her own? she goes everytime i put her in there, and if i don’t she’ll end up doing her business else where, she’s 7 weeks old soon to be 8 weeks, and i clean her litterbox very regularly so idk,,
Maybe the edges are too high for the kitten? Try to find a low and very easy to use litter box and make sure that the kitten knows where it is. Also remove the other things or places that the kitten uses instead (if possible). Kittens have a very strong instinct to dig in the litter box and as long as they know where it is and can easily access it, they should use it properly 🙂
@@Sherrie-fb2on Sorry for the late answer. Is your cat still scared of the litter? You could start with an empty litter box and fill it up a little bit every day so that the kitten gets used to it. You can also use oat grains (I think that's what it's called, "havregryn" in Swedish) instead of regular sand in the beginning. It's cheap and harmless if the kitten eats some. Good luck!
Wow!!! I always thought that you had to hold their little front paws and start to dig in the litter ! LOL!! You didn't even have to do that. Amazing 😊🎉❤
That meow is so endearing and cute. That’s a great idea of having the cardboard that is normally used for/as a scratching post, being used as “mat” to capture the litter in the paws, or what they sometimes drag out with the . And, which kitten is that?
I'm facing a big trouble while training my 6 week old kitten cz each time when I see her digging on floor to pee/potty in the corner of the room , I pick her up and put her in the litter box but she just jumps off of it... I try to put her in there again and she jumps off again and it happens each time for about 15 times or more ... Later she ended up peeing in the corner of the room on floor
Congratulations Orion!!😊 Great Job!! Looks like Aurora was next in line! Fabulous, Freya is keeping an eye on how things are going..good for her!! Have they been able to do # 2 in the box?🙂🥰🥰🥰🥰
We gave our daughter a kitten for her 10th birthday, which she named Elizabeth. Elizabeth didn't like the litter box. We had made the mistake of putting the litter box in the bathroom, and Elizabeth decided that she much preferred pooping in the bathtub. I had to start keeping a couple inches of water in the tub to discourage this, until she made her peace with the sandbox.
Good thing you found a solution! Yes, they can be picky about the placement of the litter box. The mother to the kitten in this video, Luna, has never used the litter box in this room. Even though she is inside with closed door all night. She prefers to wait and then use the regular litter box in another room in the morning 😅 But my experience with kittens is that they just know exactly how a litter box works just by instinct. All my kittens have known what to do from the first try!
Hi! I have a big house and my kitten (he is 2 and a half months old) doesn’t know how to find the room where is the litterbox (even tho he’s been there a lot of times) how can I help him?
I just got a 3 month old kitten and instead of doing the digging motion on the litter, she does it on the plastic edge of the box itself 😅 She would also poop just a few inches outside the litterbox and pee elsewhere. I suspect she doesnt like the litter that i bought(tofu pellets) so im going to get a diff one. Hopefully it do the trick
My kitten 7 weeks old always wanted to come out, beside that if i put her in liter box and not let her come out she started licking the litter sand. She pee on bed
That was very helpful! I'm glad my kitten (he's an adult now) managed to use a litter box easily. Thanks. I wish I could cuddle all if your cats just now and meet them 🥺 They're such cuties. Also I have a question. My cat is 1 1/2 years old and I would like to get a kitten as well. His race is european shorthair. Do you think he would accept another kitten, he doesn't go outside and only once met another cat (which didn't go so well). The cat would be another race too. Could you help me with that one, since you've managed to get cats get used to each other more than once. Thanks already😊
I think it will go just fine with a new kitten 🙂 The meeting with a kitten will probably go smoother than the meeting with another adult cat. You can take a look at how I intruduced a new kitten to my cats here: ruclips.net/video/WFHsDUise5A/видео.html But keep in mind that it can be better to do it slower in some cases, so do what you think works for your cat and kitten 🙂
I tried the same thing for the first time. When i put my kitten in , she started running around . I kept putting her inside over and over again , showing her to dig and everything but nothing worked , it's my first time litter training them so im going to keep trying . Do you think thats how she'll learn?
my cat is 2 weeks old when should i train him i dont know much because its my first time having a cat he doesn't have a mother i found him on streets could u please guide me
Don't worry about litter box training until the kitten is getting close to 4 weeks old. If he doesn't have a mother he needs lots of care from you. Bottle feeding, warmth and you need to wipe him so he can pee. I don't have any experience taking care of motherless kittens, so you should try to find more information on how to do it. Good luck 🙂
It does not sound so good. It might be cold, but it could also be because the kitten is scared. How do you know it is only 2 weeks old? They can barely do anything at that age
I have a 4 month old kitten that refuses to use the litter box. Her 4 brothers and sisters learnr by 4 week's but she just keeps popping on the carpet right next to the litter box. I'm about to throw in the towel 😮😮
What age should I start teaching my kitten she has peered and pooped on blankets but not her litter and when I tried to introduce her she try’s to eat it any suggestions
At about 4 weeks old or maybe a bit earlier. They sometimes eat the sand, but as long as it is not much it is not a problem. If they keep eating a lot you can use something like oat grains that is eadible instead of regular cat sand. My kittens have always had a very strong instinct to use the litter box. I just place them there and they use it right away.
my kitty dont like the sand i dont know why, shoe goes out everytime i put her there to practice/familiar her with it, btw the sand we have is just like yours in the video
Do you know how to teach kitten to close their litter box after pooping? I have 7 kittens who already 5 weeks old and the one who really behave well on the litter box only 1😢
Do you mean covering it with the sand? They usually know it by instinct. Sometimes it can take some time to get the hang of it. 5 weeks is still very young 🙂
My kitten uses the litter box but after finishing she drags he butt through the litter box how can I stop it bacuse she ends up with feces all over her tail and legs
Hello, my 2 yr old male cat was potty trained when he was a kitten, he used to do his business in thr litter box only but now no matter how hard I try he does potty elsewhere and sometimes pee in the litter box, why is that happening?
What happens if you just lift the kitten and place it in the litter box? One thing that can be used in the beginning is oat grains instead of regular cat litter sand. It's also harmless if the kittens eats some. So you can try that or change to another kind of cat litter 🙂

Oh my goodness. A kitten 🐈⬛ can even be cute 🥰 when using the litter box 📦.

Yep, that's how we did it. Lol. They never do like the first few times. It's amazing how their instinct is so strong.
Cat's are amazing, they can literally teach themselves to do anything 😊
Buster (in other room): "Great. Won't have to potty train this bunch."
BTW - new bathroom, and there is already a line ... kids .... 🤣

Exactly, and they can also use it to climb in and out of the box easier. This was Orion 🙂
