This song was written about the murder of Jodi Jones, a teenage girl from Ireland. He saw on the news while touring and wrote a song about it. Of course, it's wildly insensitive to profit off such a thing, and it recieved a lot of negative controversy. In the end it was never studio recorded or released. Brandon was upset by this. You know what this means though? That he has no problem writing songs about real murders. So it begs the question: who is Jenny, and could it be Jennifer Levin, 18 year old murdered in 1986 by Robert Chambers Jr, named "The Preppy Killer" for his wealthy, privliged background. Chambers served 15 years and was released in 2003, around the time of Hot Fuss, so it would have been on the news. I have yet to check the timeline to see if it was covered by press in time for him to write it before Hot Fuss' recording and release. But it's interesting...
Jodi was from Scotland. A little town called Dalkeith. Her boyfriend Luke Mitchell is currently serving a life sentence for her murder. A crime he did not commit. ruclips.net/channel/UCnQ6ycFZgCRRFMCIoVjRjsA It's been 17y
It was written about a girl that went missing (I forget her name), but it was a pretty popular case. The family didn't appreciate it too much, so they never studio recorded it.
Had this song stuck in my head a few days before Gabby Petito was reported missing. This will be a time capsule to look back at this time when we still don't know for sure if the remains found yesterday were Brian's and/or if he was the one who strangled her. RIP Gabby and possibly Brian
no, there was a lot of negative controversy over it because it's about a real murder of a girl who went missing. people hated the idea of it so it was never released sadly
Sad that this song wasn't released,
I had a close friend overdose and this is the song I've been listening to when I miss her
I really wish they’d release this properly some day. I get it, but it’s one of my favorite Killers tunes
randomly though of this song. so here I am

Love this song
2024 PRESENT!
Apparently they never released a studio version because of all the controversy (it's considered to be a continuation of the murder trilogy)
They never released it because this song was about one of their fans whom got murdered and her parents ask them not to release the song.
+Chaotic Garden Jodi Jones
I would like to know this also. Was this ever released?
