have a '08 Hatch, 145K, pretty cherry condition but well used. Rides like an old pickup over trivial bumps, control arm bushings failure. Will do this job. Quality of aftermarket control arms is a concern, even if warrantied. OEM is too expensive living on island due to shipping cost inflation. Current "deal" for the pair here is $285
Took me a lot longer to do my ‘09 Yaris. Took at least 20 hours to do the right front. Somehow one of the bolts that was in the vertical position now just spins loosely when putting it back on there on the new one. For some reason, the horizontal bolt bolts up the vertical one just fine. I have to go buy another bolt to fit it now.
brah! No lie i was JUST yesterday thinking about some homemade solid mounts...cant believe i used PL premium hahah. Dude were doing great, im scrambling to get these projects rollable, were moving to NY state aug 15th, and Im taking my first load of cars out there on the 4th!
@@BGGarage thanks, do not have the flex head wrenches but can likely borrow for job. Just have the typical socket and open/box ones and can see that this flex head just makes it easier...
Thanks Toyota engenders ….they could do that easier but fck meeee I don’t like to put my head underneath the car, this scary feeling always it falls down and crush me
Great video,
Do you have one where you replaced the sway bar bushings?

superb vid, very efficient DIY, helpful for amateur backyard mechanic!
Thanks, appreciate you

great video!! but how do you torque the ball joints to 72 lb-ft without a ball joint lock nut wrench or pulling the axle?
i just hit em with a good crank of the wrench. You should be able to torque them though. enough friction at the taper joint.

Very helpful thanks for making the video, nice one.
What’s the part number for the bolt? I want to use new bolts when I am replacing the cradle!
Thanks for the informative video..
Great video. Need to do this in spring.
Thank you, appreciate the feedback
How much would this cost me to replace one bush
do you know if this car and the ractis use the same lower control arm? I know they have the same engine set up.
Sorry i got no idea about that boss
You’ve come a long way since making your custom PL premium engine mounts back in high school! Haha. hope you and the family are doing well buddy!

@@Mau105 yes, not necessary but very helpful
thanks for the vid : )
How the hell you gonna skip over torquing that at ride height?
3 to 30 ugga duggas
Loc-tite messes with your torque values. The parts will be over-torqued. So claiming that a little blue loc-tite never hurt anybody is false.
