Your calm demeanor throughout this episode is beyond impressive…..I would have been in full blown HULK mode as soon as I saw the garage knee deep in shit water! Once again, great video and it’s definitely time to move!!
So glad to hear you're getting off "lightly". That hotel staff is amazing pushing the bikes (and cars) up that ramp. I think a truck with a tow strap would have made the job much easier but than I'm an old Navy guy always looking for the easy out.
I'am glad you didn't lose your bikes and it didn't cost to much,I always babied my bike when I lived in Thailand and luckly I had it under shelter during Rainy season, there is always the unexpected in Thailand.
Prices of Grand Avenue Condos probably just dropped a lot. So unnecessary! Where's the pumps to keep the garage dry? Ridiculous the guards did not see the water rising.
Yup big construction companies should be designing to deal with the weather but they give zero fks. Would never park underground below 3rd road if there was any rain.

I'm guessing many at the condo are likely going to think twice about renewing their rentals after their contracts expire. I always wondered how those low parking garages would fair during the monsoon season when it floods. You're right, I think the condo employees should've at least attempted to reach out to its tenants (even in the middle of the night) to give them an opportunity to move their vehicles before the water levels got too high. Glad to see your bill for two of the bikes didn't end up costing too much.
People typically underestimate the destructive power of water until events like flooding occur. Good thing your previous experiences taught you to wait it out and have everything fully checked prior to starting your bikes up. That truly was the smart and prudent thing to do, Loucous. Good luck with the two bikes whose health is still yet to be determined.
Good god, that’s terrible! I know how much it must hurt to see your beloved vehicles like this! Good thing that at least 2 of the bikes weren’t damaged too severely! All the best my friend!
Good to hear your bike were not really damaged. I hope you consider where the house will be in relation to floods. Bikes is one thing, but a house full of water is another.
Glad you got them out, cleaned and working again. Good to see you riding around on it the other day. 14:43 thanks for the mash potatoe 😉 Catch you soon.

Sod's law if you went to move them at night the BIB would have had a chat with you about being outside during curfew. 555 That's my mate at Kawasaki, only guy to work on my bike since new (other than anything I did myself), good mechanic and very helpful.
Flooding of 'underground' car parks is common in that area. Years ago 'The Avenue' condo building's car park flooded like this. And the electricity was out for about a week.
So Glad to see you guys made out pretty well so far, your neighbors maybe not so well as if Pattaya doesn't have enough problems already. Thanks for the update. keep us tuned in.
Sad bro.i remember when the Grand Avenue condos were being built and saw the underground garage. I was sure the developers would have designed and engineered it with the proper drainage and pump systems for the most notorious rain seasons.
❤ Best thing to do is, pull the spark plug and crank it a few times. If there is water in the cylinder you get what is known as hydro lock and can bend the rod or brake the crank.
I’ve flooded my bikes out multiple times while adventure riding pull the plugs out turn it over shoot the water out spray in some starting fluid clean the plugs off reassemble you’re back in business. Change fluids soon as you can.
I dropped an outboard motor in the drink once for just seconds, not even a full minute. I got it started immediately after. It was okay but never really the same again. Sorry to see your troubles w/ bikes.. That Kawasaki mechanic probably saw the floor waters and knew he was in for a treat of a day ahead, then he called in sick and spent the day eating comfort food and drinking beer. 😁
Back in April 2019, I stayed across the street at the Centara Hotel. Those condos were almost finished. One day it poured and the street flooded. Centara Hotel also has basement parking but they installed a flood stopper at the entrance to the parking. It's a short metal bollard that comes up from the ground and sticks up about a foot or so. It's not water tight of course but it held back most of the flood from engulfing the basement.
Hi Lucus & Vee enjoyed your video I think you got a good result out of this. It could be a lot worse. So count your Blessings. Time to move on and get that house ensuring you're not in a flood zone. Take care GOD Bless you and yours. M

I feel for you, what a hassle. Better to have the electrical connections dried out a shop than just letting it dry outside. Problems may not manifest right away but they will. I couldn't get my clothes to dry out during Songkran just took them to the laundry. :)

Sorry for the damages incurred by the flood! You seem to be taking things in stride. Good luck! Hope the damages are kept to a very minimum for you and the rest of the residents at your condo
Doubtful. If they gave him the chance to move his bikes before it flooded, then he could've just moved it to the open lot next door and thrown a cover over them. It seems like a lot of potential damage could've been avoided had the condo staff attempted to warn it's tenants before water levels rose too high.
From a few of your more recent videos, I was thinking that it might be a good idea for you to consider buying a small pickup truck. Now I am glad you don't have one, and have to deal with that mess. Take care.

Yikes, you reminded me that buying a used bike there would need caution. On a side note we had a flood in our house and the Nintendo that was on the floor was completely underwater. After drying it out for a week or so it didn't skip a beat.
I don't understand why they didn't pump out the car park first with temporary pumps then moved all the vehicles? It would have been a lot easier and faster. After all, the water is going nowhere and it still has to be pumped out to put the car park back into use.
Glad everything's working out for you so far and at least 2/3 of your bikes are okay. Fingers crossed for #3. It is a lot of hard work that could have been avoided for people staying in their units. Our security has an intercom to each unit and they buzz often. This should not have happened for many reasons, but It did. An interesting situation at GA. I drove for over 30 years. In asia, I find it much easier to pay for the ride to get some place, and do my 11,000 steps. It is not the money as I owned many high end cars, but it made me lazy. I think of living in Pattaya for a year to see if it matches my lifestyle on a day in and day out basis. I am not into flooding. It damages so many things and causes lots of disease. Maybe you will consider this while evaluating different housing alternatives. Thanks for the video and good luck with your vehicles.
You will be alright. As you say, if a car yeah big problems in the future. With a bike , no worries. Good thing it didnt go as high as your dash. A good clean and you will be on your way
Good Luck that both cycles are Okay ( the Honda &Vee's scooter in the shop) I am hoping that the Versys comes out of this okay too. Your old rebuild 400 is another story. Wishing good Karma comes your way. Next flooding there could be even more disastrous. Good that your going to moving soon ! Hopefully a place that has better drainage & runoff.
I wonder if there is any such thing as a dry suit for a bike? If there isn't I am sure Thailand would be a good place to make one. This flooding of motorcycles seems to hapen a lot so there would be a market.
Bummer. Glad your bikes are ok. We used to live in a Luxury Apartment in North Bethesda, Md. where the lowest basement level parking was always having water problems. Best to live on a hill in the country somewhere. :-)

I think of living in Pattaya for a year to see if it matches my lifestyle on a day in and day out basis. I am not into flooding. It damages so many things and causes lots of disease. Maybe you will consider this while evaluating different housing alternatives. Thanks for the video and good luck with your vehicles.
Good to see all above water now.
Great footage and prophecy in April
You will be alright. As you say, if a car yeah big problems in the future. With a bike , no worries. Good thing it didnt go as high as your dash.
A good clean and you will be on your way
Good Luck that both cycles are Okay ( the Honda &Vee's scooter in the shop) I am hoping that the Versys comes out of this okay too. Your old rebuild 400 is another story. Wishing good Karma comes your way. Next flooding there could be even more disastrous. Good that your going to moving soon ! Hopefully a place that has better drainage & runoff.
Hope everyone gets compensated properly, knowing Thailand I think a lot of wriggling before you see any monies. Good luck
Why does anyone get compensation it's an act of God, park at your own risk.
@@grahamjohnson4702 It probably says that in a sign on the wall .
You didn't mention insurance. What's the situation? I'm assuming you'll be covered for any damages.
There is 600 condo's at Grand Avenue, Is all the underground parking on a single floor?
I wonder if there is any such thing as a dry suit for a bike?
If there isn't I am sure Thailand would be a good place to make one.
This flooding of motorcycles seems to hapen a lot so there would be a market.
Bummer. Glad your bikes are ok. We used to live in a Luxury Apartment in North Bethesda, Md. where the lowest basement level parking was always having water problems. Best to live on a hill in the country somewhere. :-)
How about living at ground level ?Always worked for me lol
@@anthonydowling3356 At least store you bike or car at ground level.
