      going forward all products will be tested with this protocol.....at this moment tho how do past product reviews measure up to this new standardized procedure.....such as Jade A70 poly seal - tac quartz max/moonlight etc - liqx ceramic shock - ethos ceramic pro - carpro elixir and reload, IGL premier and F4 renew/graphine infused - tw hybrid line - megs new line - and on and on....its an annoying question.....how would they fare to this most real life testing standard. your insight as to where these all would line up is sufficient for me as far as strength/durability.....then we can consider the gloss benefits to arrive at our personal choice that best suits our needs. we all want the highest gloss without sacrificing durability....hence our desire for the holy grail in a bottle!!!! your insight and opinion is totally respected and sufficient to aligning the past to this standard.....and eliminating the annoying question. You are taking us on a never-ending journey of pursuing perfection......making it entertaining all along the way - we cant thank u enuf. fyi....u posted this vid and in 23 min u already had 440 views.....that video I sent when I won the TW HYRID giveaway applies to u and apex detail from us on a daily basis.....be well my friend

The hybrid spray won. It would be interesting to see you use your new testing protocol on Megs liquid vs Megs spray and see which is better. I think your new testing process is spot on.

      I find it easier to overuse the spray version and streaks start to appear on the car. The liquid version is much harder to overuse in my opinion.

    • @jdisdetermined
      @jdisdetermined 3 года назад

      @@jacktran960 honestly I haven't been using these all that much since the first couple bottles. But yeah, the liquid wax does have a nice application. Do you find the durability is as good as the spray? I thought the hydrophobics seemed to drop off a bit faster than the dry application of the spray wax, which seems to give the best results.

    I am a believer in Meguiar's products, especially since they started the consumer detailing product industry that all others chased for so long. However, I'm certainly not married to any particular one Meg's product, as others in the industry have certainly not only caught, but in many products and applications have surpassed Meguiar's.
    That being said, based on your review, I'll most likely have this product in my arsenal, but certainly not as my "go to" wax.
    Brian, as always, I truly appreciate your time and information on Meg's Hybrid ceramic wax.

    I like the new real world testing with 10 washes and then your mixture of road chemicals. A lot of us are really into the appearance of the product in addition to its durability. I enjoyed your comments about darkening and enriching the color of the paint and would encourage you to include more subjective appearance comments as you test these different products. I find it difficult to judge the appearance of the product when watching the videos. Your product testing is the best on RUclips!

    Best Detailing channel out there. It would be interesting to get lab analysis done on contamination samples taken directly from the road. I am somewhat disappointed in the product. If it had lasted a few rounds of the torcher test I would give it a green light. But for the effort might as well go with the spray. That says a lot from me because I enjoy a good ol’ fashioned wax on/wax off session!

    I think it would add more for the podium deal if done in price ranges. I think I watched a video of a Meguiar's rep claiming you can top that with the ceramic spray wax. I am probably wrong but I also believe the rep said the liquid wax can be the base layer, so all you would need to do is spray wax on and rinse off. With the price being 20 dollars, which is about what Ultimate liquid wax runs or the paste version. I wonder how the gloss compares from one to the other.

Now on my parents vehicles where they are garaged and both parents are retired I’ve gotten over a year plus out of 845, heck i’ve gotten a year plus with rain X on my dad’s windshield, course that includes Claybar and in doing the right decontamination steps. Maybe not possible to do on every protection product testing. But if you would have an old product from the brand that the new product you are testing. It would be very interesting to see how it the old vs new product stands up to each other. Are we getting better products now or do we actually just gets about the same performance from them. In this case Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax vs the Hybrid Ceramic Liquid Wax would have been very interesting to see side by side in the testing.
    Also generally speaking it would be very great to have another product that has gone through the testing that you do with a kind of performance from it in the mid range of products. So we and you have a benchmarking product to compare it to. Don't need to be the best but something that's not the worst either. So we see easier if it's on the lower end of the performance or if it's in the upper segments of the products you are testing. Much easier than going back and forth with comparing videos on our own.
    Like the new wash testing a lot. Keep an eye on how many washes all of the products you testing is doing and maybe adjust to the average value of the washes. To be doing when you doing your testing. And maybe even have different amount of washes you do. A sealant should maybe stand up to 10 washes but a spray wax/QD only should be 3 washes or something like that. Or even go by how long the claimed longevity from it is and how many washes you doing in your testing. A claimed longevity of 6-8 weeks maybe should only get 5-7 washes before the chemical testing or maybe even less like 3-4 washes before the chemical testing. Hard to get a testing that suits products with a claimed longevity from a month up to a year. And getting how good they are in the claims they have. And just don't do testing to getting them to fail as soon as possible which we see on some other YT channels. You give them a chance to let them show at least some performance from them. I mean that if we know a product gives you the 2-3 months in the real world use. Then it's reviewed and when they do the chemical torture testing it's almost gone after the first round. That kind of testing don't give you or us any useable information about the product. You at least tries to find ways that gives you a good information about the products you are testing and keep that up Brian!
    Awesome video!

    Honestly, I believe the Turtle Wax Ice products seem as good or maybe better.

    How is the ceramic supposed to cure to the paint surface if its being applied with a wax? I thought you were supposed to remove all wax before applying a ceramic coat. Would the wax part of the "hybrid ceramic wax" not just contaminate the surface whilst applying the product, thus no ceramic would cure to the paint surface?

      Even tho it is in the wax category...it is more lige polymers and Sio2. I agree...it is an odd category.

    Was that test with only one coat? I know Mother's cmx seems to work better (last longer) with multiple coats, I wonder if this is similar with better performance on multiple coats.

    As always, great video! I've asked this in other product testing, so hopefully I get a response on this one. If you have a client that comes in for paint correction and has this product, or any similar to this, applied on a regular basis, what are you doing or using to remove any level of paint protection?

    I'd love to see some evidence that these "chemicals from the roadway" are actually on the roadway.

      when you see rainbows in the road, its oils. You see oil in parking spots and that gets on the road.

    • @cd240v
      @cd240v 4 года назад

      I've seen the road the dirtiest when it first rains but surely all chemicals, oil, etc.... isn't all on the road that he uses , not to say their not ALL present sometimes, (well where I live in GA anyways). I can't say that about other places like where it rains all the time which should wash off of it rains alot. Then you have places that's more poor than others, which then in more poorer places people tend to not take care of their cars which in return tends to leak more oil because they can't afford to repair it. OK then factor places where it snows a lot and they put salt on the road and some states don't even see snow and salt.
      The point I'm trying to make and this guy is showing you (good job btw) is when he does his test he's throwing all the chemicals oil, etc.... at all these products, no product is going to get less or more chemicals, oil, etc...... ITS A TEST!!!
      THANK YOU FOR SHARING YOUR RESULTS!!!!

      They are not exact. He’s using a mock up to simulate the chemicals that are on the roadway. Which there are plenty.

    Can anyone recommend anything for a shuffleboard. I don’t really want to buy the standard powder, silicone spray and polish the dealer sells. I was going rob start with a good polish and wax, then maybe one of the liquid sprays? Just thought I would get a fellow detailer’s opinion. The surface is water based polyurethane. I can’t imagine the “shuffleboard” polish wax and silicone spray are anything special. The powder I can see I guess

    I just applied McGuiars Liquid Ceramic Wax to my car. I found it's not too difficult and quite forgiving. As I was buffing, I noticed a small area where I tried removing bird poop awhile ago that left some small scratches (I should've been more careful at the time). Question...Can I use a little rubbing compound to blend out the scratches, then go back over with the ceramic wax to polish and buff it out so that it looks like it never existed?

      It lasted ten washes easy. How many washes do you get in a month. That would be a way to make an estimate.
