Finally after many thousands of years Kratos has a weapon that he can be proud of. One that represents his homeland, forged for him to defend his son as a father, and blessed by a loyal friend.

"May it be wielded with wisdom, may it be put down when it's job is done". A weapon that was not bonded to Kratos as a curse and will always return to him even if he throws it away, or looted from the corpse of a person he killed in his quest for vengeance. A weapon made by a friend to help not wage war (the Omega symbol), but to defend his family and honor (the Spartan symbol) that can be put away when there are no more battles to fight. One that was a blessing not a curse
He isn't proud of using Leviathan Axe? It was used by someone who loved him as deeply regardless of the past until the very end.
@facundomelian4420 I think he's proud of the axe, but it isn't _his,_ not the same way. It's Faye's weapon, a _Norse_ weapon. His only connection with it is through her. He's just using it. The blades and Kratos are synonymous, literally tied to eachother. The axe was inherited.

Kratos may not show his emotions and appreciation like how most people do but in his own way and I love that. He showed Brok how much he respected him by asking him to bless his spear.
May this weapon strike true;

The OG games were all about a man becoming a god. Now, they’re about a god becoming a man/human. Such a good new direction. Kratos was a good man in this scene
I like the dynamic with the Hulda brothers. Kratos definitely likes Brok more, and Atreus trusted Sindri to watch his back.
Kratos likes Brok more because they're alike in how they're always direct and speak their minds and take no nonsense

I like how she changes the blood symbol from Kratos’s omega symbol as the god of war to the lambda of Sparta and Laconia
Notice when the blood shows the symbol of the god of war, she gets angry with it before she changes it and see the form of who krato is now.
nice little detail showing that it was forged not for war but for the defence of family
True, the shape changes from the God of war emblem to Sparta insignia; He's no longer the monster of olympus, he's once again defender of the things he hold dear.

We see how much Kratos, the former God of War truly respects Brok when he kneels down.
the thing I just realized is that kratos' first thought was to validate brok and make him feel better, in the past he would've said calm down, stop being emotional, who hasn't died a couple times? but instead he showed his friend he matters
....i kinda think that even if that blessing didn't mean shit, Kratos will carry those words with his spear forever...close enough to matter.

Kratos kneels to NO ONE. Yet here he is, kneeling before Brok asking for his blessing. Really shows the respect that Kratos had for Brok. Fuck I love this game lol
Most of the Greek Saga was about Kratos breaking free of the tyrany of the gods, and vowing to never kneel to another again.
And now here he is, kneeling before another. Not by force, but by choice.
So sad that the only thing that brok blessed was the spear even though he’s gone that blessing will live on for generations until kratos job is done

Good scene. Kratos trying to show Brok he still matters. Brok telling Kratos he hopes he find peace one day. That one day he doesn't have to use the spear. To be the spear.
the writing in this game is amazing
It really is. You can see the amount of passes they went over to make sure it flowed just right. I can't imagine how many rewrites there were to get it into the gold that it is now.
This is literally my favorite scene and dialog from the game and always brings a tear to my eye

I dont think some people see how beautiful it is to see Kratos, a demi-god who killed the entire Egyptian pantheon in a blood fill rage, all these years humbly kneel before Brok and ask for to have his weapon blessed.
To see Kratos take a knee before Brok just shows how humbled Kratos has become and how much he holds Brok to respect.

That's a good point. The blades come back to him no matter what because they are his curse. But here the spear is blessed so that kratos is its master and not the other way around.

Brok's blessing says "May it be put down when its job is done", the spears job is to kill Heimdall, so the spear should be useless after Kratos kills Heimdall, right?

No, in the game kratos constantly says that he is only getting that weapon to protect his friends, but mostly his son. Once everyone one of his loved ones is safe the spear will have fulfilled its purpose. The spear represents his spartan background and symbolizes how much kratos has changed for his friends and family. It is not a curse like the blades of chaos. It is a blessing that will help him protect his loved ones.

So, the lady couldn't see Brock so she communicated with Kratos all along? Her sight didn't even match Brock's location.
this is just circumstantial but since we never hear anything from the lady of the forge, is possible that Kratos' soul is also incomplete

I think she was speaking to him, only Brok couldn’t hear. Notice the moment before she leaves you hear a slight ghostly whisper. As Mimir said, Mermaids speaks to your soul. She probably blessed the spear already and Kratos only asked Brok out of respect.
I saw the sword appear behind the bag then go through it so it looked like magic
