After listening to this video i know my fear was created after I joined all these Facebook groups. I joined thinking i would gain knowledge but the majority have planted ideas in my head that i never even thought of. The i wont leave my house for less than 100$ comments or the rude comments towards the people asking for help. I now know they want us to be scared because thats less competition for them in the industry. they don't want the newbies to be great. Im going to challenge myself to do my first signing within the next two weeks. Thank you for this video.

I am a little scared 😣, but I am not too scared. I sold life insurance, and have gone into over 150 homes. And drove Uber, I CAN DO THIS! I wanted to know ways to prevent missing a signing, or stamp. Could I search the pdf file before I print out for key words that would let me know what pages needed to stamped or signed.

I totally agree. The way I got rid of that fear was just to take an order. You have to push past the fear and have confidence on your abilities and training. Even if you arent confident, just study hard and implement what you have learned. And learn from your mistakes! Everything will work itself out. I promise you.

How I accomplish things in my life is to tell myself this: "EVERYTHING you want is on the other side of fear!" I got tired of being scared of flying on airplanes in the 80's, went to flight school & scored 100 on my test and became a flight attendant. You CAN do anything once you get over fear. What is "fear": False Evidence Appearing Real. You got this....LET'S GO!!!!

Well said Mr. G! I can't remember who said this, but it rings true hearing this video "Vision without execution is just hallucination". You have to be willing to take the first step even if you’re scared, believe me, when I started in the Real Estate Industry, I was terrified, but I stepped out on faith and did it anyway and just like learning how to ride a bike analogy, once you learn how to, you never forget. Everyone, I encourage you to take the first step and if you make a mistake, admit to it, be willing to fix it right away and keep learning, as it is ok to make mistakes, that's the only real way to learn if you’re doing things correctly. As one of my Mentors told me, if you’re not a little scared or nervous, something is wrong, that is the time to jump in and just start, that is part of the process and completely normal. I encourage you again to take the first step! Have a wonderful day everyone! The Best is Yet to Come! 🤗

Faith without works is dead. In my opinion, the fear is making a mistake. We are human and mistakes will happen but they should make you better. Admit the mistake, fix the mistake and move on. Do your best work and it will all work out in this business. It's all about mindset and work ethic. Set your goal, develop the plan to get there and take jobs that are available. What's for you is for you.

I'm less than a month into having my commission, LSA cert and RON cert... there's a BUTT LOAD of fear mongering about making those mistakes and yes, everyone DOES make mistakes... and yeah as someone who's had 20 years in health care and to whom this is 100% new... All the mongering is unnerving... thankfully I have friends who are notaries and both have said, "you'll make mistakes, just fix 'em." which to me is very similar to "if you don't get the stick the first time, re-orient and do it again."

Thanks for sharing. What I find very funny and disingenuous is that the same people that stir the fear pot are the same ones telling people to get into the business. Why would you encourage someone to get into a business that has the potential to put them in jail for making mistakes on legal docs. Better yet about 95% of the existing training does nothing to reduce those mistakes and make us good notaries.

It seems they have cultivated a "Family" thing of followers who hang on their every solicit and pay. When I pay $250 for something, it better come with some decent material but people are charging this for things, don't want to offer reference material or updates. It's a mess. I just gravitate to ones giving true knowledge for free or for a cost.

In my personal opinion, I don’t think that people are “scared” to go out and perform any notarial acts, maybe they’re afraid of working under pressure. It’s sort of like taking a public speaking class in college. Most are nervous to get up and speak in front of others. Same goes with directing people you’ve never met before on where to sign on those VERY IMPORTANT documents that’s possibly life-changing for the signers. No one likes to make mistakes. And no one wants others to be upset with them or unhappy with their work. I agree with you Griff 100%, it’s better to go out and just do it to get that hands on experience. But….everyone is different…due to no fault of their own. Some people are self-starters. Others are not. Some are very comfortable with being told what to do step by step and need that confirmation that they are doing the right thing. Some people need more training than others. Being an NSA is no different than starting a new job. It can be scary the first couple of weeks, but when you’re comfortable with your new surroundings, you excel. So, for all you new notary signing agents out there, please, be confident in yourself and your ability to go out and do a great job. Everyone makes mistakes…but life goes on. Learn from your mistakes, do better and GO MAKE YOUR MONEY….!!!!
PS…..Some of those signings involve hundreds of thousands of dollars or possibly millions. Who wouldn’t be nervous about making a mistake 😟.

    • @GriffinNotary
      @GriffinNotary  2 года назад +1

That could be it but I am basing my comments on the actual phone calls, text and emails I get that say "I am scared". So its hard for me to conclude that they really don't mean that. When I asked them what they are scared of its:
      -making a mistake
      -missing a signature
      -showing up late
      -forgetting to ship the docs
      -missing a stamp
      -missing a date
-not being able to explain the docs
-not being able to answer a question
-needing to call SS or Title for help
Question: which document is more life changing...
      --A Will or Loan Doc
      --A POA or Loan Doc
--A Living Trust or Loan Doc
--A 401K document or Loan Doc
They are all important but I never hear any notaries describing non-loan docs as life changing. I never hear notaries saying I am scare when it comes to notarizing non-loan docs. What makes the loan doc more precious than other docs.

If this is what you want to do as a career, it's like anything else you have to get serious, get focused. Figure out your "Why" develope a plan to reach your goal/s and stick to it. Turrn off your favorite TV Program (record it) You must develope good study habits. Set aside time weekly (read your states study guide, watch videos, attend seminars, read books, review your notes, don't be afraid to ask questions) Things may get tough at times, but there are so many things you can do being a Notary Public. Multiple Streams of Income sounds good to me. The more you put yourself out there accepting different types of assignments, the more experience you gain. Lately I've begun to take signng a little further away than I would like and do more General Notary Work, and it's payed off. Thanks Griff for being that example. When a signing becomes available, I don't check to see how far it is from my home anymore, because I'm familiarizing myself with the areas around me and I have an Idea how long it will take round trip. You can always negotiate the fee, hit "Yes I Am Available" Even though I may not have completed that particular type of signing / assignment, challenge yourself. I know where to go to do research and get information to complete the assignment. I have gained the confidence to do the job I'm expected to do as a Notary Public. Don't be so hard on yourself, like anything else it takes time. Keep Pushig Yourself! As Griff says "Don't Be Scared, Never Give Up "JUST DO IT! Thanks Griff for all your encouragement!

You are the type of notary everyone should aspire to be. one that has evaluated their local market and concluded that an adjustment needed to be made and made it. Realizing that just because you have not done a particular assignment type is not a reason to pass on it. Besides no matter what the assignment is the notarial part is pretty much the same. Really appreciate you comment. If you ever get stuck on something call me 757.797.5432
