I love Visions of Mana and as for some who recently played prior Mana games via Collection (FF Adventure, Secret of Mana, Trials of Mana) and the Trials of Mana Remake in prep for this. This game felt like a genuine love letter of the series and an evolution, especially when they built off the framework of Trials Remake's combat and style, but amped it up to 11. The story, the characters, the visuals, the combat, the exploration, the music, the amounts of customization/depth really had me enamored and gave me a memorable and fond experience. And while it's sadly rough with some technical issues almost akin to Star Ocean: The Divine Force. I still enjoy it. I do hope the very least, that the core Mana team, as well as the staff that were from Ouka that got shut down, migrate somewhere to make another Mana title and take what was good about Visions, and improve upon it
I am curious on the technical issues front because I legitimately did not experience a single technical issue or bug in the game. What happened for you?
I completed the game and loved it. The traversal I thought was particularly standout, with the ability to double jump, airdash and parkour over terrain. Fast travel made moving around very simple. Pacing is great and since I did side quests I never felt like I was grinding for exp or lucre. The writing was quite good, with some standout moments both in humor and melodrama when serious. It felt very much in the spirit of the classic games without trying to go in either a forced, edgy direction or being like a trashy modern anime (FFVII remake series, looking at you). To me it's like a 9 out of 10 this is my favorite game of the generation and feels like a natural evolution of the Mana series. No cannon travel but WYGD. Technically there was a little pop-in but otherwise nothing stuck out at me.
really enjoyed this game and was quite pleasantly surprised by the story. I agree with some of the criticisms here but for the most part they didn't bother me. I think my biggest issue is actually that they give you the absolute most broken element/character combo in the game (Morley + moon) like 2 hours in lol
This game is incredibly fun and the art is superb. I spent more time listening to the bgm and enjoying the view. The only downside for me is it's too short.
as a long time fan of Mana, i want to say they have already made the better combat system for Mana. we call it Finalfantasy 15. visions did get the visuals right but the combat gameplay could still be better. the mana games have been BUILT on SD2, and SD3, both have multiplayer and the possibility for team play, and the modern mana games are missing that, and so are also missing the element that made Mana big in the first place. well, at least we got the art and visuals right.

@ mostly framerate issues, and instances where the game would almost pause *close to actually crashing*

I'm so glad to hear from fans who really loved it, I think a lot of people have had that experience and it makes me happy

When they want you to feel power but they don't realize how much power they gave you

I bought it BECAUSE it's short.
Platinumed rebirth prior to this.
Don't have more time for long games
I did buy and play a little of visions but other stuff came out which interest me more but i'll go back with December being a more quiet month
Yeah December is when I'm hoping to get to some of the games that I simply haven't had time for
Netease shut down a talented team before they could make any money, surprise surprise.
Game looks cool and all, but it's WAY too expansive. The asking price is just too much.
It'll come down but yeah I understand why people aren't going for full price.

Final Fantasy 15s combat sucks
