I don't care about skies if there's no clouds but your shadows are too dark, no readability at all, I'd say your pics are rather high-contrast, not overexposed with cars I'd love to see pics shot with CPL kit lenses are usually trash, with Canons people on budget usually use cropped bodies, so I think efs 24mm f/2.8 (I believe it's around $140 new) would be the best value/price lens for street photography for them, that would be equivalent of 38mm while 50mm might be too narrow even with the full-frame
