USING THE HOSE WAS A KEY MOVE . There were some concretions stuck underneath one of the pumps which dislodged with hose maneuver. Certainly easier than going "fishing". Thank You Thank You
I serviced one not too long ago where they had a bathtub as part of the bathroom group that was ejected . I filled the tub halfway and added a bottle of bleach to the water and pumped it all out before I opened that crock lid . It definitely made the job cleaner . it turned out that the 2" brass check valve wasn't closing completely , allowing effluent to leak back into the crock and causing the pump to cycle more often .
Steve thanks so much for you videos. After seeing how that 90 was in there, I think that was intended to divert solids and toilet paper hanging up the old float switch. I’ve seen this before and I’ve install a pump very similar to what you pulled out. The only difference I see is the pit I’ve worked on was 3 times the size of yours. Without knowing the total flow rate of this building it kinda looks small. Just an observation. I think the pump you installed will work without the float getting hung up on solids. Thanks
At a Day Care Center we made a Stainless Steel Basket to catch, the stuff they flushed down the toilets. Yes it had to be pulled, but it was better than pulling the pumps out. The Lift Pit was about two hundred feet Behind the Day Care. They Bell on it would wake the dead, it was amazing they could ignore it.
We live in a hillside house and got a similar pump in our lower floor. Now I understand how this pump works. I once had a plumber come for an unrelated issue and asked whey they charge to replace the pump. I vaguely remember a few thousand dollars, but the pumps seem to run around $1000, so more than $1000 (maybe $2000) for 2 - 4 hours labor? I'm buying a box of gloves and doing this job myself when the time comes.
Until you find out how much they cost. Also it should have a auto-reversing control on it. More $$$$$ Then you need to up size the pipes to keep them from clogging. $$$$$$$. BTW, I Was working on one at a Church, went to unhook the vent pipe, ended up getting a Sh*t Shower. Some Idiot put the isolation valve on the Vent Line. Couldn’t see the Check, as it was below the cover.
Also, never extend a sewage drain this far into a pit. Not only will the float alarm eventually catch onto what you've added into the area of it's float, but debri as well. Stink rules
5:25 a marble in the pit waiting its turn to fall. Steve, the last time, when you replaced this pump there was drawers or something flushed. Maybe not all the workers know this shit-hole is here? Also, you left that 90 out and in the same place, but someone keeps putting it back. Love the vids!
i don't think that rag was making the "something rock solid smashing against the impeller" sound, lol. but hey, if she's quiet and pumping, fuck it. good video, Steve.
Having similar problem today had to unplug it cause it won't stop running cost me over 1200 5 years ago and I'd have to cut the pipes just to get cover off
When the condensate line on my AC is plugged, I blow into it. I would go to plan B on this thing. She sounded like she was pumping someone's kidney stones.
thanks for the video. nexlvl trouble shoot'n . is that a sump pump in there? wtf if it is a sump those peeps must have pretty good drain hygiene, except for those damn wipes. Seems like most wipe flushers are repeat offenders. Till they start paying the drain cleaning bills!! KFC for lunch, finger lickin good!
you'd indeed wonder why they didn't put a grinder pump there in the first place in such application, here its a must if you got toilets hooked up to them.
Because grinder pumps have a lower clearance, and clog a lot easier. Also this isn’t what a grinder pump is for; grinder pumps are made for high pressure head applications where nothing else will work because other than high head uses, grinder pumps are expensive and horrible.

Ooowee~~~ nasty sewage. Glad you got baby wipe/rag out of there. Good video,Steve
Funny to see you doing this , this was exactly my last call today and my first call tomorrow to install a new liberty grinder pump
always good to flush it with a hose once you get the new pump installed .check the old pump for a rag stuck in there
not afraid to get my hands dirty ,love your dog by the way,yes i'll take the job
Nice work Steve
It always amazes me that you never gag when you do nasty stuff like this.
Steve, my daughter just had such a pump installed in basement. I now know something about them. Thanks, for the video.
only toilet paper anything else will cause problems . no tampons ,baby wipes ,rags, ect .what ever goes in there has to go through the pump

Good luck Steve, you sure have next level pump days. your gone to give it the OLD GUNDY "MAMA!!!!!!
Steve, I can't figure out why you wear gloves. Lol. You got a keepa there
I install and recommend the Malarkey Master model 2
if that punp is running 24/7 would that spike your kilowatts to 19kwh per day?
that Zoeller pump should be upgraded to a grinder pump to handle the throw away wipes a little better
Or just don't use 'flushable' wipes.

Marbles like the one on the rim, Steve!
Thanks for the video. I held my nose just in case lol
Venting is the key to keep the smell down ,had one installed one of the houses .was that the door bell?
Looks like your diet is doing well!
Please answer what does it mean when your septic tank has soap in it in the pump won't go off

20:19 Why does a house have a pipe that size 4" maybe 6"? To the right of where Steve's kneeling.
N/ A this is a daycare..
Thats the sprinkler system
It depends on the number of toilets being served by the ejector pump . the grinder pump ejects the effluent through a 2" line to the main hung sewer .

have you used any rs-44 yet what do you think about it?
stop wearing gloves steve ur grilling would taste better
no i have not been looking for it at local supply houses no one is carrying it yet
So if they are closed today. Why do I hear water trickling into pit.
And this is why I became an electrition.
I'd just cellar a new pump. If she won't pay, I'll sewer!
Lift pump keeps running?
i don't think that rag was making the "something rock solid smashing against the impeller" sound, lol. but hey, if she's quiet and pumping, fuck it. good video, Steve.
sounded like plastic to me
Didn't sound like anything but air to me.
Imagine my confusion on getting a response to a 3 yr old comment. Time is just flying by! I think i have Alzheimer's!

How does time span confuse someone
?! 😂
I have the same set up on a duplex. Tenants love flushing things like that. I found an broken up doll one time
Having similar problem today had to unplug it cause it won't stop running cost me over 1200 5 years ago and I'd have to cut the pipes just to get cover off
Looks like it's time to call a special meeting for the staff, and keep the wipes away from the kids.
i did talk to the director about it .
pro trick : you can watch movies at Flixzone. Been using them for watching a lot of movies these days.
@Harper Marley Yea, I have been watching on Flixzone for years myself :D
Like ordering chicken feet at dimsum... super tasty because they been marinated in chicken sheet...
When the condensate line on my AC is plugged, I blow into it. I would go to plan B on this thing. She sounded like she was pumping someone's kidney stones.
Baby wipes are good for drains.
Need a full scuba outfit with air tank... minus the flippers..
Ur dog Molly is cute ur working Molly

Never wanted to be a plumber!!!! LOL Never!!!
I notice you give reference to "Moma" quite often. Who is moma to you, in these references of moma?
You're weird

Ain't he just.
Anyone see the sewer fly around 8:54
Those sewer ejector pits are never fun. Why do you wear gloves Steve? We can never figure it out!
Fireship1 Try a commercial grease trap
so you want to be a plumber!
usually its a tampon.
great video . thanks you
Baby wipe somewhat anti-climatic vs supposed baby whip.
thanks for the video. nexlvl trouble shoot'n . is that a sump pump in there? wtf

should have cleaned the pit before installing new pump dude, looked pretty full of garbage when you installed it
Keyboard warrior with some shit advice for Steve. Post your own videos before you make idiotic comments on his.
So your hearts desire is to be a plumber
time to instal a grinder pump ;)

I don't understand why you wear gloves.
lol
Would never mess with a shit pump, can catch too much from that crap
Kinda goes hand in hand with the job...
It's just poop.
