I used to smoke weed heavily until I had a dream in November 2020 about going to hell for sexual sin/fornication, and smoking weed. I gave my life to Christ in July 2020. Fast forward a little over 3 years later, I’m sober, married, and pregnant with a baby girl. It was not easy to get to this place that I am today, but only with God’s help was it possible. It is possible to give up something you think you need because the enemy does a good job at making you think you need sin, but God. 💗☺️

God allowed me to use weed as help with medical treatment for chronic pain. I prayed and fast, I waited. Also actually soon after, because I was praying and fasting God had been strengthening my faith and asked me to give it up. I told Him I was afraid, but because I love Him and I Trust Him. I still have some pain, but not nearly as much as I did in the past. He started teaching me of what to eat, and do to help with the pain. But I don't judge anyone because I understand, not everyone has an addiction but even if we do, God can STILL deliver US! I don't desire to smoke anymore and even at the time, I have had a medical marijuana card. Even then, it didn't matter, God wanted me to lay it down and pick Him up instead. 🖤

Been smoking since i was 13 and and I'm 23 now .... I can say I always felt this knowing inside my spirit the duality of living through it in my life. Its been a rough heart of change, but its needed for sure. I tend to run back and fourth. But truthfully I think its time I let that part of me rest and take care when I forgive, I was tell the Lord I'm sorry Its hard Ill keep trying to quit, That I want his appetite to no longer crave smoking. It did do a lot for me but where I am now and transition. The Horizon has broadened. I hope to continue in the strength and spirt of thriving away from it. Amen for this opportunity thank you

Aye, I am telling you from my personal journey that God will help you stay clean of weed and other addictive behaviors. I have experienced having cravings and an appetite for things that aren’t according to the word of God. I asked God to take the pleasure and appetite away and The Holy Spirit helps me daily. Bc I will not lie to you and say I don’t think about it or feel like maybe just once or a little bit of this or that but I remember that I do Not want to grieve the Lord and how God means more to me than chasing the feeling. I want God more than anything and anyone. I had to get rid of everything that was associated and change up my patterns and keep my eyes on God. I know He Redeems and delivers and sets free because I am living it and daily God renews my mind. It wasn’t easy but it was a choice of laying down my wants for His will and losing my life to find new life in Christ.
I pray you experience Jesus in a tangible way and your tastes change and you allow the Holy Spirit to keep you in every moment. In Jesus name amen.

I believe with something like weed, it’s on the same level as having a glass of wine, and I would argue it’s a step above. If you feel guilt, shame, or conviction when you smoke, lay it down. If it’s degrading your character, lay it down. If you struggle with addiction, lay it down. But if you’re a mature adult human being who has self control, and you want to have a smoke every now and then in your private space, and your heart/mind is clear, I see no problem nor weight. If you can drink (sip some wine/beer) you can smoke. And weed, is far better for you than alcohol. Alcohol is literally toxins. Weed is natural from the Earth, made by God. I believe it varies per individual. No one “needs” it. No one also “needs” to have a drink. Just my thoughts. It’s honestly a deep and nuanced topic. To me condemning a brother or sister for smoking is foolish and is the opposite of what Yeshua taught. Unless it is clearly negatively affecting their life, then there is no issue. Much love ya’ll✌🏼.

      IM CALLING OUT FOR HELP!!
I’m a full on evangelist and praise and worship leader at my church.
Every week the Lord allows me to lead people into deep worship. Lives are being changed, and people are being saved.
The only thing is, I have a secret struggle. I have been trying to overcome it in private, but to no avail.
      It’s eating me up inside.
Every night before I go to bed, I smoke about half a joint. it helps my arthritis, helps me eat, and it helps me sleep.
But I still feel convicted about it because I feel like a fraud. I’m a “hypoChristian” if you will.
I need serious prayer. And I KNOW I need to repent.
And each week eats me up more and more 😫😫😫
Yall pray for me. I know God is calling me higher

I absolutely love this clip. Being able to breakdown both the difference AND similarities in sin vs. weight.
This comment section is proof that this discussion needs to be happening. A LOT of people here are showing their hands. "If it's not directly called out as a sin, if I CAN'T FIND the Bible verse that EXPLICITLY calls it sin, I'm gonna keep doing it" - is the adopted attitude of so many and it's heartbreaking. The verse says "let us strip off every weight that slows us down, ESPECIALLY the sin that so easily trips us up." Notice how it doesn't say only, but especially. Meaning - EVERY weight that slows us down.
Our walk in faith is not about us getting as close to sin as possible without going over - this isn't The Price is Right....THE PRICE WAS PAID!
If you’re a repentant Christian, if you’re SAVED, and you wanna get high, get high....just stop acting like you have scripture that supports you're glorifying God in doing so 🤷‍♂

I think as Believers we need to be concerned when another brother or sister in Christ is doing something harmful to themselves and also yes we need to help them process what's going on and why they're doing what they're doing. I understand what he's saying because it does matter that we are of the Temple of the Holy spirit. We shouldn't be putting things into our bodies that can cause us not to have self-control which is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. But also we have to understand and come to the knowledge of what caused that person to get in that spot so that we can be more understanding of what drove them to that place. And I think if we're not careful we'll miss that part of it. It's one thing to say stop doing it it's another to find out why they're doing it

If I smoke alone in my own house and no one ever sees me, is it okay then? I have been smoking weed for the past 10 years. I have had the biggest revelations and amazing prayer time while I was outside smoking talking to God. But God showed me the grace he was giving me at the time allowing me to do so, because God is working on my heart. He’s going to leave the weed alone for awhile until I mature spiritually. Now that I’m maturing, God has shown me that weed isn’t for me anymore. But you are on a podcast, speaking to ppl to educate them. Cussing. Talking about a man boning his wife? 👀 God snatched me up at the end of last year and I was just like her friend. I had told myself everything I could to keep smoking weed. The issue was I was smoking so much weed it was hindering an entire gift that God gave me. I think the reason why he may be saying cut her off because she’s saying she used it to connect to God which gives witchcraft/voodoo/3rdeye vibes. Other than that I don’t think he would have told her that bc in no way are you getting closer to God through weed. Weed was an entire idol for me, I HAD to smoke before any and everything and that’s why I had to cut it out at the root and then removed myself from my friends because they would tell me how they don’t think it would be an issue with God. We need friends to pull us out of the pit not tell us to stay in it or talk us out of stopping something that’s hindering us from being intimate with God. On the flip side, if you are in your friends business so much that you feel like what they are doing is a weight and she isn’t doing it around you, you in too deep. If she’s not smoking around you, talking about it to you but you are the one bringing it up you are trying to play God and that’s NOT your job so it just all depends. It sounds like the friend is trying to act like a savior as well, which God will correct her if she is.

So I take gummies, because my legs shake really bad at night and I don’t sleep. There’s nothing really out there for restless legs. So that’s why I partake. My prayer and Bible time are just me and him, but the doctors told me that’s pretty much my option and so that’s why I use. Not to get high and space out. If that makes sense, I understand that won’t sit well with others or fellow believers.

I just quit smoking weed for the Lord. It was not easy as the marijuana made today is different from the natural weed smoked back in the day. The weed today is highly concentrated and HIGHLY addictive. I really appreciate how Tim broke down the difference between weight vs sin. The bible doesn't specifically condemn weed, however, any substance or thing you put before God becomes your idol. The fact that this person has to smoke weed to commune with the Lord is problematic as the Holy Spirit already grants us immediate access to Jesus. You don't need a crutch to talk to God. I'm not judging at all but I think people need to realize that although it's not a sin, weed is not healthy for your body temple. You can get cancer, lung disease, even GINGIVITIS as well as losing brain cells from smoking marijuana. It has some of the same negative impacts as smoking tobacco. It comes down to acknowledging and treating your body as a vessel for the Holy Spirit. Make sure what you consume is healthy for your mind, body, and Spirit. Praying for this person and anyone else out there struggling with addiction in Jesus name 🙏❤

Weed is no different than the many chemicals man uses to treat anxiety, depression, nausea, appetite. The only difference is that in many places it is considered an illegal substance.
If you condemn weed and not all those other medications than you are being a hypocrite.
The problem with weed as with any other substance including prescribed medication is it can be highly addictive for many people. The same way one can get addicted to the many pain medications prescribed, one can get addicted to weed. In that case you are making it an idol and therefore it is a sin. Thank GOD for THE BLOOD.
If it is illegal where you are and you buy it, you aren't obeying the laws of the land which goes against scripture.
If it is causing problems in your relationship or interfering with you being able to maintain at your job, you may want to consider an alternative. If it is causing you to neglect financial responsibility or interfering in your ability to be a good steward, you may want to look into an alternative.
I for one couldn't afford it. It was just as expensive if not more as the copays associated with the medications my doctor was prescribing but harder to access because where I live it is illegal without a card.
Still, when I was in my deepest part of depression, smoking weed was the only thing that motivated me to even pick up my Bible. It didn't cause me the same side effects that the zolof, paxil, wellbutrin, celexa, hydroxyzine just to mention a few of the many medications I was prescribed.
Those medications did the bare minimum if anything for my mental health but left me still physically exhausted and lacking motivation.
Weed however helped me focus, gave me energy and helped with the joint pain I suffer from.
I wasn't smoking every day all day. I didn't have the desire to do that but on days when I couldn't deal with the anxiety or the depression I smoked and it helped keep me from cocooning myself in my bed and slipping back into the sinkhole.
GOD's grace is sufficient and HE covered me.
HE also led me to start looking into seamoss as an alternative and I am feeling better physically and mentally than I have in a long time.
That's my experience. If that causes someone to question my salvation or relationship with THE MOST HIGH or makes them not want to be involved with me, that's between them and GOD. It doesn't change what CHRIST did at the cross for me.
I pray that if weed is your thorn, you keep seeking HIM and trusting HIM. I pray that you allow HIM to show you if you've made it or any other medication an idol or crutch and that in HIS time, HE delivers you. I pray that HE surrounds you with people that see you and can speak life into you. I pray that you don't allow condemnation to sink you deeper into depression but that you also never lose your desire to put HIM above all things. I am confident that HE who has begun a good work in you will being it to completion.

    1. The withdrawals

It's not a sin, just like drinking isn't a sin. I think Paul says it like this, all things are lawful to me but all things aren't helpful. If you get to a point where you can't live without it, barring a medical condition, then you have turned it into an idol just like alcoholics make their drink their idol. Idolatry is a sin. I personally put weed and wine in the same category, if I can't do it in moderation then it's not helpful for me and I need to stay away to ensure it doesn't become a gateway to other things.

Seems hypocritical for sure. I heard Tim say he is not cursing by definition of a curse...to be so technical is really a form of pride, that is the equivalent of smokers saying the bible doesn't say cannabis is a sin...at this point believers are defending their sin rather than cutting it off...Ephesians 5:4 does speak on filthiness and foolish talking...it's not convenient meaning not edifying...just like using God's name in vain/ as an expression "good god almighty" is inappropriate but believers get loose and either ignore conviction from The Spirit or have lost feeling for the way The Lord feels about it. It appears Tim and Tiphani (teachers that have helped me) struggle with the same spirit of loose speech/arrogance, as teachers especially, they should heed warnings like these!! Some of us are still sensitized, as it should be, and flinch every time we hear those words, think of the images they paint in people's thoughts with their words...life and death IS in the power of the tongue. I don't smoke but confess that I bake with marijuana and believe I had closer encounters with God even others would contradict that. Obviously there isn't much to argue against Ps. Tim Ross or in biblical context. However I disagree that God doesn't love me because I'm high and still reach out to Him. If my friend doesn't want to be with me because I use, then this friend was never meant to be. So goodbye friend. To use God as an excuse is harsh even when you can prove it biblically. Yes I know that God wants me to be of sober mind. But my mind is dealing with this world's problems and often wonder "where is God in it". Personally you should outweigh the pro's and cons of marijuana and for everyone this is different. Again there is no scripture that can back up my opinion but losing friendship over it and putting God in the middle as a cause - is hypocrisy. I had this convo w my folks 2 days ago, I told them I monetized the way I use it. After being productive, studying etc. I’ll smoke at the end of the day. Would that still be considered being “weighed down” if I’m fully aware of how I’m using it? It’s more of a way to be more creative and wind down in ways.

I’m just talking getting mad at these comments lol like people really tryna make excuses

@@Timmynewtron-cd3gq It says it in Ephesians 4:29 & Colossians 3:8. We’re supposed to put off these things because it brings no edification. It doesn’t say in BOLD letters that cursing is a sin, but if we can use our discernment, it’s CLEAR as daylight that we’re not to use foul language. 🤷🏽‍♀️😂
And YES, we ALL have our own battles that we deal with and have to face and fight. We have to fight with the word of God cause it’s a daily yet constant battle. I feel you & may God bless you and strengthen you ❤

Yes he definitely lost me with that one and he just stood on it that it wasn’t. My Bible tells me in James 3 around verse 9-11 the same tongue we bless god with we curse men who been made like god and we are then told that this should not be! We can’t add or take away from the scripture gotta be careful!

I didn't stop smoking until God told me Himself. Maybe I do not understand having a community.. but as a friend you can still be close to her and just pray for her that she is able to see what God would like her to do. This is caring too much about the next person's sin. We are supposed to love and accept each other anyway. Unless it is triggering for you, like you used to smoke or something. But just knowing she smokes has nothing to do with you. If you are that concerned, pray for your friend. Again, I've not had community before. It's just me and Jesus but that would be how I would handle it. Open to a new understanding! Love the podcast

      @niablackenglish8573 10 месяцев назад +1

@tylerthompson5817 I went to that passage, thanks! Boundaries can and should be set when necessary.. but in my experience, I've wanted to cut off people that offend me in many ways including claiming to know and love God but do other things. I was convicted about walking away from people just because I didn't agree on even a personal level, I def shouldn't care about my friend smoking weed.. also, I think the Word in 1st Corinthians is warning about becoming influenced by those friends.. not so much shun them from the friend group. That's the friend that needs to be embraced but also pray in private if they seem to think their sin is not sin, at this time. Let's talk about it, friend. Thank you for bringing up the WORD. Our opinions mean nothing, what did GOD say?? But yes, my response is based on my journey walking with God and how I believe He has lead me to see things personally.. which brings another point, He got us all doing something different at different times for different reasons. We should just love and encourage each other cus as it is in Heaven, we ALL gonna make it to Jesus so let's move about one another with that mindset, right? Friend gon quit when it's time and we gon fulfill our purpose in God, Period poo 😂❤❤❤

Psalms 104:14-15 King James Version (KJV)
He causeth the grass to grow for the cattle, And herb for the service of man: That he may bring forth food out of the earth; And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, And oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man's heart.
I actually haven't smoked in almost a year now because I was over indulging and misusing it . But I do believe weed is one of the herbs God gave us to serve specific purposes . Just like any other herb .

Acts 8:9-24; Acts 16:16-18), but they cannot assume visible, physical form themselves, nor are they capable of creating anything "ex nihilo" (from nothing), as God can. They work with or through things that already exist. GOD said in the good book that he created everything and it was good. The devil can’t 1:00 create anything he just perverts everything I believe the plant was put here for multiple reasons. For some reason its a threat and I’ve been always curious about as to why?

This is a hard one. I’m not going to lie. The smoking pot and the man sleeping with his dad’s wife just aren’t the same in my brain. I guess my question is, is the friend doing it around her? Is the friend not being respectful. Like I don’t cuss or drink but I have a friend who does, just not around me and she is a believer. She does everything to honor our friendship even though I don’t make the drinking a big deal. So I don’t know honestly. My advice to the woman would be let the Lord lead you. Maybe walking away from the friend is the best thing but then again maybe it’s not. Love endureth all things(1 Corinthians 13).

Cannabis is all over the Old Testament. It is Kaneh Bosem in Hebrew. It's one of the main ingredients in the annointing oil in Exodus 30:23. King James mistranslated it as "calamus," which is another plant, but deadly at the levels prescribed in the Old Testament. Do a quick search, there's loads of study on it. Only priests were allowed to use it.
Exodus 30:38 " Whoever makes incense like it to enjoy its fragrance must be cut off from their people"
Priests wanted to get high by themselves

There’s “believers” that habitually commit other sins as well. Doesn’t make the sin any less harmful. Guarantee there are absolutely no men or women of God who are not convicted about consuming cannabis. Just bc you don’t feel bad about committing a sin against God doesn’t mean it’s not a sin. It just means there are parts of you that aren’t fully surrendered to the Holy Spirit.

There not believers if there telling you something that is ruining your life is ok… especially if you feel you need it your addicted... we need Jesus he’s the ultimate high. I used to smoke weed for over 18 years been sober and saved for 3 months and I’ve surrendered to our lord and savior the only thing I’ve regretted in life is not turning away from sin sooner! He’s still working on me seeking him daily opening my bible.

Honestly I never saw it as a sin until I asked my friend if I can smoke while Fasting and he said no😢that blew my mind because he went on to say Remember when fasting you are sacrificing whatever that pleases your Body for Christ. Even though Marijuana helps me to focus by slowing my subconscious down and shut all the noise for me to look at one thing.
I haven't stopped smoking that's the only drug I take.
I pray that our Heavenly Father will deliver me so that only The Holy Ghost will be my only medication to help me in any situation that I think Marijuana helps me with.
