    Cabal listened only to Kane and obeyed Only Him- without Kane there was no one to control it - This meant that if Kane told Cabal not to use The marked of Kane in order to keep them secret - the Cabal would still obey that command. The Cabal went roque not in spite of Kane - but due to lack of command input from him.
    Since Cabal was way more sophisticated than Eva - he would be able to see the resource flow within the brotherhood - this meant that keeping the marked of Kane from Cabal would be next to impossible - he would notice the resource drain, the manpower drain and the querries made to and from various data bases that would be needed to achieve progress on such a project. So i doubt Cabal didnt know about them. What is more probable - he either was directly forbbiden to interact with them - or he lacked something essential to their reactivation and control. - the second option is more probable if we assume that Cabal indeed went totally rouge - because if tha twas the case then he would use them and since he didnt - that meant he couldn't.

      @krzosu Even LEGION didn't know about the Marked of Kane until after it reawakened in 2052 and Kane told it to activate them, and as we saw through the fear and concern that Alexa Kovaks had as she saw Legion awaken, there was a portion of CABAL's will and memory in LEGION, suggesting the two were very connected. I believe after Kane returned, he would have found what remained of CABAL's data core and used it to build LEGION, which would include what survived of CABAL's memory banks. If CABAL knew of the Marked of Kane, that data could pass to LEGION, unless Kane ordered otherwise or the data was lost.
      As for the data pertaining to resources used for the Marked of Kane development and storage, Kane could have completely severed that whole region from CABAL's network, preventing it from tracking resource usage that it wasn't even allowed to be aware of. If Kane told CABAL to ignore a region, it would listen, and it would have nothing to share to LEGION. But that's just a theory, and we don't have a real 4th C&C title to expand on that, so we'll just have to speculate.

    As we know at the end of the Firestorm Nod campaign we can see Kane connected to Cabal and it looks like he's controlling it to achieve something.
    Maybe his goal was to dispose of the members of the Inner Circle (it's a fact everytime his absence they only fight each others) and aquire more humans for expand his MOK army and maybe trying to summon the Scrin to Earth.

    I think cabal was attempting to activate the mark of Kane but simply ran out of time.
    The reason I say this is because at the end of firestorm and while nod celebrates it Victory you can see Kane in a stasis container trying to heal while the monitor above him begins talking with his and cabals voice as if trying to assimilate.
    Originally I thought Kane was actually cabal and was using him to enact his will but not reveal it to be himself cause if he failed (which cabal did) then nod would lose trust, faith and loyalty to Kane
    So to prevent this Kane used cabal to be his darker side without revealing it to his loyalist.
    However thanks to this video it gives me the theory that while Kane was healing cabal was trying to imitate Kane to not only use it against general slavik during the firestorm crisis (since nod was waiting for Kane and if he returned many would blindly accept it as him) but also bypass Kane's security to gain access and control to the mark of Kane while using the older cyborg models as a distraction from its primary goal but like it said at the nod ending of firestorm "my plans have premutated due to the union of gdi and nod....." meaning it wasn't expecting nod and gdi to team up so it gets you wondering if they didnt make the alliance then would cabal continue to rely on obsolete cyborgs to finish the mission or would he surprise both gdi and nod with an more advance army later on during the crisis?

    I think CABAL was attempting to enact Kane's secret plan for the Marked during Firestorm, as hinted at in the ending Nod cutscene. It was attempting to turn all the world- Nod and GDI alike into cyborgs. Into more Marked. But not understanding this was the will of Kane, the brotherhood resisted and joined forces with GDI to repel and defeat CABAL and unwittingly setting back Kane's plan by almost 20 years.

      Face it, the aesthetics were just better in TibSun overall. The maps looked more apocalyptic and desolate, the units had more realistic designs despite employing futuristic weapons, and the animations of projectiles while simpler, had a lot more punch behind them and looked better. C&C3 on the other hand, had more pastoral maps, grossly exaggerated, cartoonish units, and silly animations. For design, let's compare the devil's tongue from the 2nd Tiberium War with the flame tank from the 3rd Tiberium War. The latter has two large, very conspicuous fuel tanks that are just begging to be shot at, and the whole thing looks like a vacuum cleaner. Its 2nd Tiberium War counterpart on the other hand is nightmare fuel. We only have to conjure the image of that poor GDI soldier being consumed by one in the trailer to convince ourselves. Now let's compare cyborgs. Cyborgs from the 2nd Tiberium War were terrifying. How we do know this? Well just look at 'em! Again, we can consult cut scenes in order to prove that our opinions are correct. Now let's turn to those of C&C3. What happened to their necks? Why are their heads so big? A normal human is 7.5 head lengths tall, whereas the Marked of Kane specimen featured at 9:19 is about 6.5 head lengths. Aren't they supposed to tower over normal soldiers? And since they use actual human bodies as their core, shouldn't they be 9 or 10 head lengths in height, if not more? Did Kane handpick those soldiers with the largest heads for his cybernetic research? Finally, why the hell do they swing their arms out to the sides when they run? Call it what you will, but it certainly doesn't invoke any of the dread of 2nd Tiberium War cyborgs. C&C3 is what you get when you have a larger budget, better specs, but less talent and creativity on the part of the developers.

    me and my brother have a personal headcannon for the Marked of Kane that I would like to share here. But we do consider Ra1 to be connected to the Tiberium lore for it
    There is a good chance that the Marked of Kane are the final throws of old Soviet cyborg tech (potentially started under orders of Kane himself). Considering how the soviets actually had a cyborg super soldier Volkov and a cybernetically enhanced dog with him. However when the Allies tinkered with Volkov and made him go haywire, Kane probably lost trust in the tech for now, demanding them to be improved until he was happy with them (whichi is why they were used in Project Regenesis and later TS cyborgs). This is why they were stored in those areas under south east asia and russia. The Marked of Kane are nothing more than Cabal's final robotic army which never got used during the firestorm crisis but bolstered with modern (?) weapons
    In an unrelated note, I do wish the MoK Redeemer had more nods (get it XD ) to CABAL and the Core Defender

    First, design and arsenal is completely different, there are no sleeper cyborg agents during tw2 and cabals rebellion either (atleast known to me). There are no signs of obsolescence like in literally every piece of weaponry from tw1 and 2.
    You said Kane kept research hidden because some parts of Nod would object but that doesnt make sense after tw1 since during tw2 Nod was widely using cyborgs, i think that part refers to time after cabals destruction since people got first hand experience with cyborgs killing everybody. Nod cyborg research came from labs in Russia and east asia, but since we are talking about huge area here, it doesnt mean that first cyborgs came from same place as those that legion wakes up.

      Sorry for the incoming long comment.
      So originally I did believe exactly what you said about the MoK being developed after cabal's rebellion. But the intelligence data base entry regarding the MoK implies that that was not the case. I would read that whole entry, but specifically there is this last paragraph which says:
      "The path was long and arduous, and outside of a few promising developments - the most notable being the cyborg armies of CABAL - far from successful. Eventually, the Second Tiberium War drew to a close, the Marked of Kane finally near completion. However, it was too late to save Nod and the Marked of Kane were left to slumber deep beneath the Earth, awaiting their master's call..."
      This seems to imply that they were in development during TW2 and were very close to completion but it was too late for NoD to make use of them since Kane had been wounded by McNeil and put into stasis, which put Slavik in charge who, along with other members of the Inner Circle, did not seem to know about the existence of the MoK specifically. Obviously they new about the generic cyborgs that they used but the MoK were apparently separate from those. The only other entity besides Kane who could have known about their existence would have been CABAL who was hooked up to almost all of Nod's computer systems. Though I guess it's possible Kane could have also kept the MoK's existence disconnected from CABAL's systems as well.

      @@Jethild I think if Kane was smart enough he would of kept the MOK project secret from CABAL. Kane has done things like this before in the past. He kept information from Alexa and Killian as well as others he didn't fully trust. I wonder if he thought CABAL might of been changed by the tacitus. He still needed Tratos and CABAL and himself and possibly his top scientist to translate it. The tacitus might of only contained information but its best to be on the safe side if your interfacing a machine with something that might have some possible virus on it. Slavik also had to capture a functional EVA unit and have it reprogrammed so if Kane was worried about CABAL somehow becoming changed or reprogrammed that would make sense. It's odd that in Firestorm CABAL requires the Tacitus which Kane requires to learn how to get the Scrin to come to earth. I wonder if CABAL was infected with some virus which made him want to exterminate all human life and replace it with his army that he can control. There is still not enough known about the Tacitus and who made it. If there was some other ancient society or other alien race that were the rival of the Scrin then they would do anything to stop the Scrin destroying life on planets and replacing it with teberium based life. If the Tacitus is Scrin then they would want it back in their hands or away from Kane or CABAL or GDI as they only want to go to planets are Tiberium has done the job killing off all life, then you can just harvest forever in peace with next to no resistance.

    Awakened can also have their machine guns replaced with Black Hand charged particle beams, if you capture a Black Hand technology center.
    Also, GDI made use of cybernetics in one instance: the Firehawk's on-board computer had a "limited man-machine interface".
    By C&C4, cybernetics have become pretty much common place once again: cyborg gunners on aerial units like the Basilisk, the new generations of Enlightened, the Engineers, the next generation Cybernetic Commando, et cetera.

  • @KholdMalik
    @KholdMalik 3 года назад +7

    My theory as to why CABAL didn't use the Marked was because, compared to the standard cyborgs it already had, they were obsolete in some ways (possibly not as resilient, didn't regenerate on tiberium, etc). Maybe during that time, most of the weapons technology employed by the Marked had been experimental and not cost-effective.
    In such cases, it was likely CABAL kept the Marked of Kane in storage as backup (like some nations with modern tanks still have Cold War-era tanks sitting in storage for an emergency), and couldn't use them in time due to their distance from the Core, once it was assaulted by GDI and NOD.

    • @lordfrostwind3151
      @lordfrostwind3151 3 года назад +6

      I think there's another possibility, CABAL seized control of the Cyborg Corps directly while LEGION had to go directly to Russia and reactivate the Marked, it could just be that the Marked weren't networked and CABAL didn't want to waste the time or resources to bring them online and network the units whether because of arrogance or because CABAL was too busy with Nod and GDI in the war to spare the "manpower."

    • @KholdMalik
      @KholdMalik 3 года назад +4

      @@lordfrostwind3151 Your theory makes more sense. Could even tie a bit with the cost-effectiveness/obsolescence one. Or that CABAL just saw them as redundant at that point - it (or Kane... or both) didn't foresee NOD and GDI allying to take CABAL down.

    • @stormshadow7116
      @stormshadow7116 3 года назад +2

      Hm, I'm not sure I classify the MoK as obsolete compared to their prototypes in TW2 and Firestorm. While they may not be able regenerate on tib fields, they are significantly faster than the lumbering machines during the second war and are equipped with EMP cannons. Considering how effective the Reaper was with just simple nets to capture infantry, cyborgs with emp to shut down tanks alongside them would have been a huge bonus for CABAL. Holding onto those as back up as NOD and GDI got *near* his core and then never using them doesn't seem likely.
      As for cost-effectiveness....in CABAL's army, there's not really an 'economy' to speak of as there is only one will. The only thing that would limit CABAL would be resources, but considering how much he could have salvaged from GDI and NOD during the beginning and middle of his insurrection, he probably could have made due easily enough.
      Nah, the only two reasons CABAL wouldn't have activated the MoK was, as you said, perhaps arrogance or he didn't know about them.

      I don't know if there's a lore explanation, but there are many reasons I can think of, for one having an abomination of flesh and metal can be scary asf (just look at the awakened concept art or the Firestorm Reapers' cinematics), so *psychological warfare*, specially if they are mutant-humans (like the ones from Project ReGenesis or the ones from TibSun) or dead ones (the Marked of Kane, probably the Reapers as there's a cut cinematic where there's one with a human skull and no flesh).
      You also have the problem of the AI's, despite how advanced EVA is, it's still pretty basic compared with CABAL (who used both robotic components and literally human minds/brains), so there's probably some problems with machine/software-only units, or maybe they aren't as clever/tactical as the cyborgs and the controlled-drone units (like the "Mantis")
