I feel like Tiberium wouldn't feel too out of place in a Lovecraft story. I mean it already has some of the base requirements for a non-sentient eldritch entity of unknowable and alien power ala The Color from 'The Colour Out of Space'. It may not be as _much_ of an abomination but it has been described as otherworldly and alien. we still have only a vague and primitive understanding. But the things that it spawns and mutants are _certainly_ Lovecraftian, plant matter turning to a fleshy material, horse-sized croc-hounds that shoot Tib spikes, and a living battle-blimp that shoots lighting. Tiberium is also the ultimate MacGuffin that could literally do anything with how vague and mysterious it is. Need Psychic dream defense? Boom, Tiberium. Other dimensional creatures and energies? Boom, Tiberium. Need a permanent but cheap and effective defensive No Man's Land? Boom, Tiberium. Need an answer to God's angels and other alien gods kicking in the door? Boom, Tiberium. Technological renaissance in the need of a shot in the arm? Boom, Green Apocalypse Crystal.
That description of the tiberium landscape from 13:26 onward is so perfect. To me, that description illustrates the big difference between the tib universe vis a vis Red Alert. Whereas I love Red Alert for the gameplay and it´s rather fun story and lore, the Tiberium Universe is just so dark and depressing. The tone is much more serious. And just as the Red Alert 2 gameplay is fun and fast the Tiberian Sun gameplay is slower, more methodical, with a threathening and darker soundtrack. It is almost as if the game is emulating the spread of Tiberium over our planet. Well made video as always!
i love the lovecraftian vibes of the scrin, a super advanced yet very supersticious and religious race that spreads and feeds on a substance that causes mass madness and corruption everywhere it goes, people turn mad, some mutate others create cults and praise the mysterious substance. Also the way they talk and name some of their stuff, like the 1 click wrath of the gods.
Or just anything else. If you see your pet ingesting tibirium contaminated food or something else, do it a favour and take behind the shed or to the vet to be put down.
Scrins: Wait, what? GDI: Hey look, a new race NOD: You wanna fight them? GDI: Im gonna fight both of you! Scrins: W-w-whats going on?? How could this people be so ready to war!? Nod: Battle Royal man!!!

I still cringe so badly at the EA design of the GDI Refinery. Herpderp lets handle radioactive, self replicating crystals exposed in the air alongside our big pool of molten green, radioactive death. Tiberium pods or go home! :P Still, love your production quality. Your material is a great source to use when showing others how epic the C&C lore really is.
@@obelic71 I mean these things are not just deployed in contaminated red zones, but GDI happily uses them in the middle of blue zones as well. @@nodcommanderthe5823 I know it just looks cool but when you look at the scrin extractor it also spews out contamination out of the top at every dump of the harvester . The silo's of Nod and GDI have even Chimeys spuwing a greenish black tiberium mist out!
@@Nuuk_Nuke_Nook To be fair, walkers never made any sense, ever, in any sci-fi. But they looked cool, and walkers are established sci-fi hardware. TS had some odd designs, some even outright ugly (looking at you, tick tank). Looking at something like the Nod scorpion tank from C&C3, it is a downright silly design. The driver/commander sits in a big red glass cupola in the front of the tank; it is like a big bright target on a huge weakspot. The Predator is slightly more believable, but it still suffers from some odd design decisions, with the tank treads being completely exposed without any armour at all. Thank goodness for Tiberium Essence, I have to say. :P Because I love the gameplay of C&C3.
Most of the TD FMVs are the new remastered ones, there there's three that I think look better in the original VQAs. The Tib Sun cutscenes are also now upscaled to 2560x1440, so they should also be sharper than before. 99% of the gameplay is newly recorded, the old stuff was only 1080, and at a comparatively low bitrate
Very fitting that you updated this as if in accordance with the remaster. TS will always be my favored childhood game. I think of the engineers carrying their tool bags and find it somehow ironic that I chose to become an electrical apprentice. I like to think that this game subconsciously affected my life in a small way.
Any chance we may get a reboot of the Tiberium Wars series, or just a straight up Tiberium 4 "reset" game that ignored the unspeakable shame that is c&c4 and continues onwards from KW? Because that'd be awesome. And honestly, I'd like to see a dune-like Risk tier campaign map with massive armies. That'd be awesome AF.
Dude this is the shit, well done sir! Tibirium always fascinated me and when i was 9 playing those games i never understood it but it kept killing my mass nade and rocket armies i always used lol.
I really love this channel. So many memories with this series -- especially Red Alert 2. My brother, dad, and I would set up LAN games and team up against AI players. Thank you so much for your videos! I didn't know how little information I actually knew about this series.
I have never played this game and dont plan on changing that, your video popped up on my reccomended for some reason and I thoroughly enjoyed the way you lay everything out. Keep it up bro.
8:05 - You know it's kind of funny, when I was a kid playing TibSun I thought that the Tiberian Fiends were more like oversized Tiberium mutated wild boars. Their shapes sort of looked like they had tusks and the sound they made while attacking sounded like a boar grunting and snorting to me.
I can see that, they look a little like it and they do make weird noises, there's a C&C3 mod (can't remember which) that interprets them like that. I go by the FS manual (gamepedia.cursecdn.com/cnc_gamepedia_en/3/37/Manual_Firestorm.pdf?version=57236bd9e559bb3d976b757e6373f380) which refers to them as 'Canus Tiberius', which I think is perhaps the 'Canis' genus misspelled, as in pertaining to canines. Even though they have tusks, I think it fits. The C&C3 mod The Forgotten has I think the most faithful rendition of the old Tib Sun sprites, only without the tusks, there's a bit of footage of them at 3:00 in my video on The Forgotten if you're interested
Man this franchise deserves so much more and your videos only further cement that idea to me. Such an interesting universe that I would love to explore. Just imagine a FPS in this universe! A fully fleshed out campaign and/or a battlefront like multiplayer within the tiberium wars universe would be SO great! Of course a new RTS would be ideal but the possibilities for good games is just everywhere. Tiberium: Command and Conquer could of been awesome if it was not canceled.
I could watch hours and hours of this. C&C lore has always really really fascinated me. It's like an onion. As you peel it away there's just more layers underneath, while still keeping that air of mystery that always makes you want to come back for more and speculate about all the 'what ifs'. Appreciate the feedback on my campaign by the way! Keep up the good work, mate.
While i'd love another C&C entry i'd be equally interested in a Red alert and a Tiberium crossover game where the Scrin due to a timeline collapse arrive on an Earth that has no Tiberium for their full invasion force to use while the various factions collide for control.
I do really love your videos about these. Id love to watch a full documentary made by you about this and everythinf included. You have done more than your homework.
I love this game I want to be more proactive in it but I'm so busy working most of the time. Thanks for the vid Stefan :) I wish EA still had the C&C3TW and KW online game servers up. Heres an idea. Let's start a petition to get it back up and running!
I'm so upset they never developed the Scrin further. There was so much more world building to do, so much more Lore to flesh out on the Scrin and the true nature of Tiberium/Ichor.
Stefan, or Stephan... Whichever... You have outdone yourself with the quality of this video, compared to your last one. Incredible video... It felt like a history briefing inside an academy of some sort... Which makes you sound professor like, or even just military commander like, informing new recruits as to the dangers and history of Tiberium. Loved it... They could totally make a decent c&c film one day.
haha i love how u completely ignored existence of CNC4! great job bro! even though as an old fan of tiberium universe i did know everything about tiberium but still did enjoy your video alot:)
I like how the C&C fanbase seems to have collectively decided C&C4 is non canon and just ignores it. Would really love to see a real sequel to the third game one day.
I really love how the game developers built in a natural explanation for the "life cycle" of Tiberium through the exposition provided by the game's cutscenes. Through the context provided by the games, especially Tib Sun and Tib Wars, it is implied that all phenomena caused by Tiberium, be it mutation, ion storms, the transformation caused by the self-replicating proton-lattice or liquid Tiberium are integral parts of the seeding and harvesting process. Although it begs the question who or what could design something so marvelous and terrible as Tiberium... Shame Tiberium Wars never got a sequel that could have answered this question to some extend.
My theory on why Nod claim ownership of the term Tiberium: They planted the idea, no matter how indirect. And the coincidence of the meteor landing near a river with the same namesake as the Emperor that Kane chose? Kane played 5D Chess just for a name for this resource
I am desperately hoping that the C&C remasters continue to thrive, and that.. some day.. a brand new C&C game set in the tiberium universe might be created again. I mean, i'll take any C&C game, but the tiberium universe has a much deeper lore than the others.
Considering how Tiberium has a nasty habit of chain reacting when certain weapons are used, I wonder what would happen if someone sent one of those weapons through the Threshold tower for the Scrin to enjoy...

Need toilets paper? Boom tiberium.
That would just kill you.
I am surely glad No Strings Prd is not in their "Twilight" of making C&C content...
I see what you did there!
Ha ha funny person
*clap clap clap*
Tiberium is life.
He who controls the Tiberium commands the Earth, much like he who controls the Spice commands the universe via the Spacing Guild.
excellent reference, especially given Westwood's game before C&C was Dune II.
nice
the Tiberium must flow...
😈
It is life for scrin thats for sure, they did refer it as inchor.

Pregnant women should not attempt to ingest tiberium crystals. Nor should adults over 55. Or anyone at all.
Quite suspicious, Tiberium might be the salvation to humanity over COVID-19.
@Alexander Primo That drug dealing animal!
Or just anything else. If you see your pet ingesting tibirium contaminated food or something else, do it a favour and take behind the shed or to the vet to be put down.
Knowing humanity I'm fairly certain some idiots tried to smoke or snort the stuff early on
Humans: NOOOO! You can't just put your crystal to our Earth, it'll kill us
Scrin: Haha farming crystal go brrr
Nod: Haha humanity go ascension
Scrins: Wait, what?

This video legit gave me chills! So well done. And always nice to have that reminder why I love the Command and Conquer universe so much.

Tiberium chanches the DNA like ( orign scrin theory) once the scrin.
So advancements start first biological from mutations.
And all tech will be more and more Tiberium based.
@@obelic71 never heard a out that theory.
tell me more in detail
I just think it's a shame that Tiberium doesn't expand infinitely in the newer games. It was cool in Tiberian Sun, when the crystal sooner or later ate the own base :D
Hope you'll tackle the Scrin and how much disappointment it was that they became a non-entity when Tibby-Twilight happened.
*Their abscense in **_"that which must not be named"_** was my first sign that EA was screwing up with the game.*
_Wish some of my friends could've seen that, before buying the game._
@@MrDibara see if TT was actually good and a actual C&C game, even with a mediocre narrative id forgive its lack of Scrin being the focus or involved, as "the scrin are working to gather their military forces for the invasion of Earth"
while Nod and GDI are still selfishly fighitn one anouther, and then later on decide to set aside differences to prepare for the scrins invasion force leading into C&C 5
but alas, we were forsaken.
i love how vehemently tib4 is ignored. :P
As how it should be.
Don't swear
@@MarMiteost?🤔
@Mike Griffith Masaki it destroyed the C&C dna for a mobile like game style of gameplay
@Mike Griffith Masaki always has been.
I still cringe so badly at the EA design of the GDI Refinery. Herpderp lets handle radioactive, self replicating crystals exposed in the air alongside our big pool of molten green, radioactive death. Tiberium pods or go home! :P
Still, love your production quality. Your material is a great source to use when showing others how epic the C&C lore really is.
The designer of the Tsjernobil powerplant also designed that refinery
@@obelic71 I mean these things are not just deployed in contaminated red zones, but GDI happily uses them in the middle of blue zones as well. Seriously, the storyline of C&C3 I don't complain much about, but whoever was in charge of designing the unit and building models at EA must have been really tripping out on something funny.
@@nodcommanderthe5823 I know it just looks cool but when you look at the scrin extractor it also spews out contamination out of the top at every dump of the harvester .
The silo's of Nod and GDI have even Chimeys spuwing a greenish black tiberium mist out!

Yeah no
@@Nuuk_Nuke_Nook To be fair, walkers never made any sense, ever, in any sci-fi.
I see you're using the updated fmv cut scenes to good use
Edit: scratch that. I'm seeing full on updated visuals too. This is awesome
@@NoStringsPrd the work shows. It looks so much better than the last one
Also, that Easter egg regarding Renegade. I saw that
Haha, I made sure all the easter eggs in the original video are still there in this one. Easter eggs are serious business
Very fitting that you updated this as if in accordance with the remaster. TS will always be my favored childhood game.
I think of the engineers carrying their tool bags and find it somehow ironic that I chose to become an electrical apprentice. I like to think that this game subconsciously affected my life in a small way.
This video has potential to go semi-viral.
I'm looking forward to this. I love this guy's Command & Conquer lore videos 👍.
Honestly the way you presented this; I feel like this would make an amazing movie or at least a TV series. Well done.
TV series maybe. Not a movie though. But with the way games have been turned into movies, it'll be ruined and turn out bad.
The last part of Mobius's explanation on tiberium is "quark rings", actually.
Gah, I did wonder what he was saying, just had to guess from how it sounded

Any chance we may get a reboot of the Tiberium Wars series, or just a straight up Tiberium 4 "reset" game that ignored the unspeakable shame that is c&c4 and continues onwards from KW? Because that'd be awesome.
And honestly, I'd like to see a dune-like Risk tier campaign map with massive armies. That'd be awesome AF.
Oh nice, a remaster of the old video just like the game lmao
now to watch this several dozen times
Dude this is the shit, well done sir! Tibirium always fascinated me and when i was 9 playing those games i never understood it but it kept killing my mass nade and rocket armies i always used lol.
I really love this channel. So many memories with this series -- especially Red Alert 2. My brother, dad, and I would set up LAN games and team up against AI players. Thank you so much for your videos! I didn't know how little information I actually knew about this series.
I love C&C, and I love this channel. The Command and Conquer fandom is an awesome one.
I have never played this game and dont plan on changing that, your video popped up on my reccomended for some reason and I thoroughly enjoyed the way you lay everything out. Keep it up bro.

Love and deeply appreciate your work, brother. Kane lives.
Gotta love the revival of your lore series!
Glad you enjoyed it! But surely it can't be a revival if it never died, the last lore video was only in August!
@@NoStringsPrd haha i mean after they remastered it. Still love the fact u don't speak of the myths that C&C4TT ever existed.

It’s Kane, GDI spy.
I'm baffled by the high level of quality of yours videos. Just loving them !
I will never get tired of those narrative lore videos, awesome work No Strings Prd !
Every one of your C&C related vid is a must see. Thanks again for all your work! :)
One of my favourites of your videos! Really enjoyed rewatching. Looking forward to the next upload.
I love your Command and Conquer videos and the way how you elaborate upon them.
I find it funny that infantry crossing tiberium in tib dawn spontaneously combust
Very good video giving us a description and history of what this game and genre is about. Thanks!
Watched before, happy to watch it again with the updated CnC 1 gameplay.
Ah, Kanes original entrance. Wonderful stuff.
While i'd love another C&C entry i'd be equally interested in a Red alert and a Tiberium crossover game where the Scrin due to a timeline collapse arrive on an Earth that has no Tiberium for their full invasion force to use while the various factions collide for control.
Scrin invade RA or Generals? That'd be pretty interesting
RA, Generals and T C&C crossover, yes that would be amazing
or Tiberium landing in the 90s as normal, but within the red alert 2 or 3 timeline
Well considering Kane was also in Ra 1 via the Soviets it could've been possoble afterall
Sure, why not? Everyone always messes with history in Red Alert, so it's certainly plausible.
I do really love your videos about these.
Id love to watch a full documentary made by you about this and everythinf included. You have done more than your homework.
Thank you so much for watching, really glad to hear you enjoyed them!

My compliments for taking the time to update your old excellent lore video with the remastered material.
I love all the effort you put into these videos.
this is exactly what I needed while my pc is out of commission.

I'm so upset they never developed the Scrin further. There was so much more world building to do, so much more Lore to flesh out on the Scrin and the true nature of Tiberium/Ichor.
Even in the Forgotten fourth? I hadn't looked into that angle yet.
sometimes less is more

Stefan, or Stephan... Whichever... You have outdone yourself with the quality of this video, compared to your last one.
Incredible video... It felt like a history briefing inside an academy of some sort... Which makes you sound professor like, or even just military commander like, informing new recruits as to the dangers and history of Tiberium.
Loved it... They could totally make a decent c&c film one day.
Thank you so much, glady ou enjoyed it! Loved that it came across as a history briefing, cheers!

I like how the C&C fanbase seems to have collectively decided C&C4 is non canon and just ignores it. Would really love to see a real sequel to the third game one day.
Don't care how many times i've seen this vid. Still amazing work
tiberium is really a cool ressource for a game. like you showed, it goes in so much game elements. and the green shining :D
Great as always my friend

Great work!
I was surprised to see that the video i watched months ago was now labeled old. So i had to watch this one and see what changed. And just wow.
My theory on why Nod claim ownership of the term Tiberium:
They planted the idea, no matter how indirect.
Considering how Tiberium has a nasty habit of chain reacting when certain weapons are used, I wonder what would happen if someone sent one of those weapons through the Threshold tower for the Scrin to enjoy...
muy completo. lo mejor que ví. Te felicito
To me the atmosphere of Tib Wars always felt closer to Tib Dawn, whereas Tib Sun always felt more futuristic to me.
I love the acting of dr. Mobius. Fancy FMV days. :D
