If you're claiming they only removed a part of it then that's a lie. The sentence said "Ashton Kutcher Defends Child Molester (with "Penn State Coach" annotated over it) Joe Paterno" so if it originally said what you're claiming then it's either a restructuring or a lie, not merely a removal.
Also, if it is a case of bad editing then give the editor another job because even a child could see how drastically the changes made affect the whole meaning of the sentence.

Alot of celebs are actually pretty old and do a ton of work to try and look the same as when they first got famous. They still try to look like models even though under the makeup and fancy clothes they look like your parents. He employed an assistant who was a child molester and may or may not have known about it, but Paterno did not actually molest any children.
