Mt. Lassen Trout Came out to Play | Los Vaqueros| Boat Edition.

Howden Cove still the undisputed spot from last month and this week for me. Friends are catching numerous sizes ranging from 5 to 8 pounders. Stripers bites on trolling slowed a bit for me, most of the reports are bait and wait seems to be more productive method with cut anchovies for bait.

You know when you're reeling and its peeling drag.....you're twisting the neck out of your line....

Your statement is true and i agree. However, (While on the fish) When i'm using my jigging rod n reel my drag is loose due to my lure ( spoon ) have a tendency on pulling off the fish if my drag is a bit tight that's why it looks i'm reeling while the line is peeling, i never reel while the fish is pulling away. Good point though.

Howden, Cox, Pen just to name a few that have coves to shelter up from the wind. Wind directions matters to choose which cove is best. For example: Below 15MPH per Marina's weather Safety Guidelines. If wind coming from the South, maybe Pen is Better choice. Thanks for watching. Hope this helps.
