    Is it weird or disrespectful for me to say that I’m somehow glad I’m not the only person in this world who has sensorimotor/hyperawareness OCD?
    I thought I was the only one up until I found this channel and I’m glad this platform actually talks about this type of OCD.
    To everyone struggling, I feel you and I’m with you.❤️

    I have sensorimotor ocd for 18 years now. It started after having a hyperventilation attack for the first time in my life and i thought i was going to die. After that i forgot how to breath automaticly in the sense of correct breathing, how much seconds in and how many seconds out and was constantly checking my breathing and losing 13kg in 7 months because of the stress and air in my stomach. Causing bloatedness and so one. Then after a couple of years some new awareness issues came : blinking, swallowing everything that you can manipulate in your body. People would say stop paying attention to it but it wasnt like i was trying to think about it i just did. I went to many psychologists for panick attacks and chronic hyperventilation but it helped to understand fear and the fight or flight reaction but didnt help anything in the long run. Just this year i realise that i must have ocd but i live in Belgium and i cant find any therapists of psychologists who understand ocd and certainly not sensorimotor ocd. So i am stuck. And i dont know if i can pay for videocalls with you Guys or how that would work?

    I have been focusing on my breathing for 3 months. It will increase and decrease in severity but it's always in my mind. I'm glad I found this channel but I'm very nervous that I will never get over this feeling. The more I deal with it everyday the less I feel like I'm able to manage it and the more I feel like I'm going crazy. I really hope I can recovery.

    I absolutely love your videos! Can I just say by you talking about sensory motor OCD you will be helping so many stuck people out there. There are so many misconceptions about this and I spent the best part of 6 years thinking my brain was broken, or maybe I had a wierd superpower that I hadn’t figured out how to master, the list goes on! I eventually figured out I had Some kind of sensory motor ocd a couple of years ago but because no one ever explained it properly it still didn’t make sense and I was still stuck doubting it was something else. Your videos have been the missing jigsaw piece and I have finally leaped over the hurdle now. Not that it matters but 99% of my hyper awareness was of my consciousness. I was aware of all my thoughts and manual actions 24/7 and it was terrifying to me. I remember briefly having blinking ocd and within 2 days it felt so torturous I remember thinking I would gladly give up my sight and have my eyes removed to escape it. This is how serious it is when people don’t understand it or get the help they need. It needent be that way. I still occasionally have the sensations and thoughts but as I am no longer fearful they disappear pretty quickly. That’s the difference. It’s not about never noticing it as you say, it’s about how you respond to it and 100% the belief system you hold. I hope more people with this kind of ocd find your channel so you can help them like you’ve helped me.

    Goodevening Nick, please help me, I am from Iraq, I suffer from obsessive swallowing saliva for 5 months, the development that happened to me, that I no longer swallowed saliva constantly, but I have a very high awareness of my mouth. The question is does this mean that I am on the way to recovery? . My greetings

    For 3 long years now, my issue has been saliva and needing to swallow frequently. My fear is that my mouth won't stop salivating and that I can't control my saliva. Despite telling myself not to worry about it, I still can't shake it off for some reason. any tips? much love

      @city_by_the_bay7769 14 дней назад

      @@GracelynCasas sadly no. From my experience, its only an issue when you think about it so try your best to focus on other things. Also, it will only be worse if you have fear behind this sensation so basically don't react negative to it and try not to worry so much. I have found weed to completely remove this since it dry's out your mouth and also gum helps. In terms of a permanent solution, nothing. But it all comes down to your mood and mindset.
