Thank you for the video! I didn’t see you use a flathead screwdriver to turn the valve at the base of the lamp head. I have a same lamp at my house and wasn’t sure if that needed to be in a certain position? Thank you from Dallas, TEXAS
You are most welcome. I didn’t turn that valve at the base, but just make sure you turn the main valve off for the gas. Then once you tie the socks on you can turn the gas valve back on. 🤙🏼
Great video!! I just moved into a house and have a similar gas lamp and it’s still burning bright. However, it also has a solar panel on the post (even though it’s definitely using gas to light up). Any idea what this solar panel is for?
Our is the same way with the solar panel. That is a good question as I’ve never thought about it. I’ll have to research that now you got my curiosity up. Haha. Thank you so much.
I have one but hasn’t been on since I moved in the house a year ago. Do I have to cut the gas to the entire house or the valve is specifically to the lamp and does the light stays on 24/7?
You will have a valve fairly close to the lamp. I’d say within 30 ft. You don’t have to cut gas off to entire house unless you can’t find that valve. Then you may have to. Yes it stays in all the time. It’s only like $4 month added on to your gas bill. Hope this info helps.
Lol thought the glass was gonna fall.
That's pretty cool. Never knew that.
Good diy.🤘
Hahahaha. You never know with me brother. It ain’t nothin for me to break a piece of glass. 🤣

I just moved to a house with this type of lamp post, do you have to use a mantel sock?
To my knowledge that’s all I can use in mine.

That would have been a pain in the ass if it was windy outside!
