    The Magnet Warriors are, to me an excellent example of a very fun idea that needed a bit more time to cook the later support they’ve gotten has made them more viable, but I admit I mainly like the idea of them more than I like the cards themselves. But I would agree with Nova that Valkyrion has one of the best monster designs I’ve seen.

  • @Toby-Wan_Kenobi
    @Toby-Wan_Kenobi 10 месяцев назад +19

    Fun fact: Valkyrion being called "magna" rather than magnet is intentional as magna is Latin for "Great", making it a play on words being a great warrior while still sounding like "magnet" as well as riding on the naming conventions of alpha, beta and gamma all being greek (with the greek and latin languages being moderately similar, enough to where magna is also the same in Greek)

    • @wingedbluj1674

      Another fun fact: "Inperion Mangum the Superconductive Battlebot" is the longest monster name of all Rock monsters in the game

    Lately I've been envisioning a Magnet Warrior Link-1 monster that can copy the effects another MW in the graveyard.
    ex. summon Beta the Electro-MW, search, link it off, use the Link's effect to copy Beta's effect and get 2 searches.

    Before Watching the video: Am I the only one who finds it weird that they haven't tried to give the Magbet Warriors sone Support support that connects them to the Egyptian Gods?
    Considering Gamma was used for the Tribute Summon of Slifer Vs Bakura, the 3 were used by Kaiba to Tribute Summon Obelisk Vs Lumis and Umbra, and the OG Magnet Warriors were one of the Main reasons Yugi was able to defeat all 3 of the Egyptian Gods at the end of the anime
    12:11 The card that makes you wonder "Why this deck doesn't Have a "Magnet Fusion" card?!
    13:56 The card that makes you wish the next Magnet Support line gives the a searcher for all "Magnet" Cards
    15:10 This effect makes me wish, the Magnet Warriors could have their own archetypal "Kaiju" or a way to use Kaijus

      By their very nature they are support. Problem is honestly Electro lack of Quick Effect Summoning and no easy way to get them in out out of the GY. They were meant to be a monster you could summon without wasting the normal and them split apart for tributex but despite that very easy concept the new support does not really do it that well. Unlike ABC.

    I’m really surprised ABC were designed so well and with good support and the Magnets just weren’t for some reason. Electros being Level 3 will bever stop being the most bizarre thing. Not having Quick Effects for the Electro and Bot and Bot not summoning from GY is very odd

  • @threesofthree6100
    @threesofthree6100 10 месяцев назад +3

    So, I have a lot of respect for this deck. A friend of mine runs an Adamancipator-Magnet Warrior deck in Master Duel and it can chew through interaction and still end on some pretty killer end boards. With Adamancipators, making Naturia Beast or Barkion is a walk in the park, Adamancipator Dragite can work as a board breaker, Gorgonic Guardian is quick effect monster negation, and Berserkion is pretty much Accesscode at home. Is it meta warping? Nah. But it's a pretty cool little archetype with some neat synergies. And who knows, if we some day get Bastion's Magnet Warrior support or if EARTH Rock monsters ever get the same kind of crazy support that FIRE Pyros got this year, maybe these little guys will do some crazy things.

  • @Whurlpuul

    Gorgonic Guardian is the most underrated xyz in the game.
    goes so hard.

  • @Kyzen_Wrell
    @Kyzen_Wrell 10 месяцев назад +3

    I’ve ran Adamancipators with Magnet Warriors (I call them Adamagnets) for the last few years and I will take them over the Adam/Koaki’meiru any day. The Koaki engine is reactionary and certainly has good negates, but I prefer the sheer volume Magnets and Adams put out to completely outpace any board/hand negation.
    Using Weathering Soldier and the Fossil Fusions make for great finishers or comeback strategies- Skullgios is a definite, but in place of Skull Knight I use Skull Convoy for the fact it reduces my opponents attacks points by defense points, burns them after it destroys a monster, and can attack monsters once each.
    Block Golem is a must for me. The ability to bring back earth rocks- both the tuner Adamancipators and Magnets have been so invaluable for extra deck plays.
    I also slip in some Kaiju’s too- Kumoungous specifically so it doesn’t conflict with Block Golem’s attribute restriction if it’s sent to the GY.
    And for some added extra deck spice, Apollusa is a must and I use both Naturia Beast and Barkion to lock down any response my opponent may throw at me. Only Sphere Mode could break such a board.

    Concentrating current on the fusion monster is 8k damage. Clear the field with bserkeon and hit them to end the game. This isn’t consistent but is funny to pull off.

    I had a adamancia/ Magnet warriros, Nemisis Keystone is some hidden tech. after you someone your big magnets, Keystone can send on back to the deck and special summon it in defense. level one allows you to adjust your odd numbers into even numbers which Naturia beast/ and Barkion easy targets to summon with the adamancias.

    A few days ago I was dueling a friend of mine with my Dark Gaia deck I put together; I drew both Valkyrion and Berserkion, a decently powerful fiend, but no dark fusion; I thought I had bricked hard because he was running D/D/D. My second draw was a polymerization, so I just fused them into Battlebot and wrecked him in 3 turns!

    Want another silly tech pick...Slifer the Sky Dragon. It's pretty easy to get three tributes on board, and with the amount of hand presence this deck has, Slifer will be pretty beefy. Magnet Conversion is like a 3000 atk boost during the battle phase~

    Another possible archetype to tech them with? Koa'ki Meiru. The 1900-ATK control suite are all EARTH Rocks, and the Magnet Warriors all work for the maintenance cost. This also gives you more options with Ties of the Brethren, which you can use to either dump out multiple Magnet Warriors or KMs to get your board set up as you need, with the only real drawback being you give up a Battle Phase....which means nothing if done on Turn 1.

    Original plan for magnet warriors; 26 magnet warriors based on alphabet a-z, 4 combiner magnet warriors, 26 electromagnet warriors based on alphabet a-z, and 4 combiner electromagnet warriors. 60 monsters total. 30 spells, 30 traps, and 30 extra deck monsters.
    Due to the introduction of pendulum and link monster they would have to develop new strategies for these new mechanics and double the card count from 150 cards to different 300 cards.

  • @23gameoverlord
    @23gameoverlord 10 месяцев назад

    I actually have all these cards, and yeah I agree with Nova that while they can be very powerful and can pull strong combos, there's just not enough to really make it a playmaker.
    It definitely needs maybe a few more main decks mons that can stand on their own 2 feet until Valkyrian & Berserkian get summoned. And more support cards to really support the deck. And maybe another fusion or maybe an on theme XYZ monster that can synergies with the fusion monster.

    This video feels perfectly timed for me. Ever since discovering their retrains and giving them a whirl, I've quickly grown to love them. Been maining them in Duel Links and I recently bought a bunch of cards to make a IRL deck. They work like a quirky niche hybrid of Lightsworns' milling and Gladiator Beasts' tagging mechanics, both of which I used to play (never knew they were meta back then, haha).
    I've always been a casual enjoyer of Yu-Gi-Oh, so it's been nice to have a tight-knit archetype that I can vibe with that does enough to be effective but remain simple. Magnet Warriors have been the most pure fun I've had with Yu-Gi-Oh.
