I liked how when MK used his powers throughout the series, it only lasted for, like a single hit. Except for the last battle, where it lasts long enough to take out all the other fighters.
No fire arms weren't banned due to lethality. No one alive knows about guns or firearms yet. That technology knowledge was lost to the times. They do have crossbows and bows, though
Please revive Into The Badlands. It was a gem ahead of its time in terms of the talented team from Hong Kong that brought incredible marital arts choreography to Western television.

Also, Lydia's father Penrith is played by Lance Henriksen, who is most well known as Bishop the android in the original Alien films. He's actually been in a bunch of sci-fi and horror films, but he's alwo done voice qork in video games. He voices Fleet Admiral Steven Hackett in all 3 Mass Effects.
Where are all the non-fighters? With medieval technology, 4/5 people would need to be farmers, even with good climate. Then there are all the non-farmer laborers and craftsmen. At best, the full-time professional soldiers can only be 1/50 of the population.
In the series its never expressly stated when EXACTLY guns were outlawed. Based on the lore it's safe to assume that happened when WWII pretty much ended the world. A lot of people would agree to the banishment of firearms for at least a year or so. Anyone who broke the law probably had to answer to Dark Ones. They can be killed, sure, but they are fast and a single punch from them could easily kill you. When Into the Badlands takes place it's over 500 after the world has already ended. This generation doesn't really know about guns outside of rumor, but you also need to realize that the Badlands isn't the ENTIRE world. It's more like that place humans were living together in Divergent. There is an entire world outside of the Badlands, and to that end its entirely plausible that in their own little corner of Earth guns have long been forgotten.
