    I love your use of nylog. What I normally do is completely closed the valve and fill the inside of the valve with nylog and then reopen it to make sure I get that baby sealed

    Just received your book. I'm a big reader and find it to be one of the best technical books on AC i have read. You could learn everything you need to for for servicing residential AC from it. You should do one on furnaces.

    Your videos on service valve is the best I have seen. Thanks so much. Question: I am trying to replace Schrader valve on high pressure side, but valve stem comes out only enough to leak lot of Freon if i open port. But cannot remove valve using valve removal tool and cannot get it to reinstall the schrader valve. Is there a way I can use service valve to isolate schrader valve port so I can remove it with pliers ?? There is another schrader valve on secondary access port, so I thiink it must be two way valve and unable to isolate with service valve.

    I have an still new, never used/installed air source heat pump that still contains the factory pre-charge of R22 refrigerant. I have brazed the line-set and can pull a deep vacuum that will hold (down to about 175 microns) but when I remove the low side service valve cap to access the fitting to release the pre-charge refrigerant, I immediately lose my vacuum through the simple removal of the service port's cap. As a consequence, I have no way to then be able to release the pre-charge of refrigerant, without immediately losing the vacuum in order to back-seat the (hex) valve. What are you thoughts about the possibility of an extremely slow/trickle release of the pre-charge of refrigerant through the high side service valve? Basically very slow in order to create positive pressure in the refrigerant lines without a full release, and then proceeding by coating the low side valve's sidewall with Nylog Blue hoping for a proper seal while back-seating the valve fully in the hopes that it will seal the leak. Then, as a final step, I would fill the low side service valve with additional Nylog Blue and replace the service valve cap. As it stands right now, the service valve cap in place is sufficient to seal the system to maintain vacuum. Just trying to figure out a way of releasing the pre-charge with a slight vacuum leak in the o-ring gasket of my low side service valve. Saw you mentioned at 16:20 into this video about the use of Nylog Blue to seal vacuum leaks. My situation is the same, except that in my situation this is a new install still with factory pre-charge. Thoughts?

    I’m wondering about removing a suction line king valve on a 1/2 hp Copeland compressor, do I need a back up wrench and does this just come off by unscrew in the nut? Is it regular threads? And the Teflon ring is that something I should reuse I heard there was one in there. Thanks. If you can help I do have your book. I’m looking through that, but I can’t find the answer.

    Hello I have a question about the king valve for the ac condenser unit and please correct me if I misunderstood but you were saying when you "front seat" the king valve, your cutting off access only to the compressor and only have access to the lines but yet how can you pump down the unit when the compressor is out of the equation? Where would the freon go? When you say "pump down" to me that tells me the freon is supposed to go into the compressor. Did you mean front seating and then putting it on the vac pump to clear out the lines as opposed to pumping it down?
    I'm looking at this as if I was changing out a coil only. Sorry If I got lost on this.

    • @acservicetechchannel
      @acservicetechchannel  4 года назад +1

      Ok so the king valve is used for refrigeration and is found on the side or top of a receiver tank. If you are talking an air conditioner with the three position service valve, thats different. You may want to check these videos out- ruclips.net/video/9hN7u8iT8vI/видео.html ruclips.net/video/WlJTY75oSqE/видео.html ruclips.net/video/snGgOWjfcRc/видео.html

      @andrew9194 3 месяца назад

      I think you mean the 3 position valve for ac and heat pump. I was confused on this one as well for a bit, but I believe he meant front seat as the final pump down step, so that the refrigerant does not go back through the vapor line, towards the evaporator.

    When you have to hook up gaugea and need to get a presaure reading from the coreless shrader port on a three position valve can I just put it in the midseated position instead of the 180 degree turn position so its easier to remember, is there any difference in checking the pressure if its mid seated or turned 180 degrees from the bqckseated position?
