There are several versions of mic drop. Korean, Japanese, and then the English with Steve. RM rewrites the lyrics into English including most of rap as well as when it’s in Japanese. I love the live version because it has the dance mash at the end. 🔥🔥🔥

You NEED to see the full dance break version of Mic Drop. It has the ending dance break from the end of the first performance you reacted to + 2 more in the middle of the song. It makes this song even more epic.

Fun fact: RM said that "Mic Drop" was inspired by Barack Obama's White House Correspondents Dinner speech when he dropped his mic at the end. Yes, it's based on them, and their ambitions; a message to their haters, but the inspiration was Former President Obama.
Also, RM and JK featured on a song for one of Steve Aoki's albums; the song is called "Waste It On Me". 💜

Honestly this is probably one of their most performed songs. Everything about it is great. Its a full package song that showcases BTS's performance ability. Not to mention there are several versions of the song.

@@JohnReavesLive they weren't there when the original video was recorded - it was a normal day at a high school gym & Mic Drop played in the background then a girl started dancing to it. Someone posted the video & it went viral. BTS have reacted to the vid a couple of times then when they went to a K-TV show in 2021, they (tv show) also invited the girl so BTS can finally meet her. This is the song that started my Journey with the guys 4 1/2 yrs ago! My "mic drop" moment was when a lady cut me off going into the federal parking lot at the Post Office Passport Center and got a nasty attitude like it was my fault . I told her she needs to act like an adult and feel lucky I had no time to argue with her! Her jaw dropped when she saw that the passport agent she had her and her kid's appointment with was me! Boy was she humble after that!😁

My 1st introduction to BTS was the idol mv, which was a lot for a 1st time look at them. I liked it but it was overwhelming. Then mic drop remix was suggested by youtube and that was it. I fell crazily down the rabbit hole and never looked back. My now late husband showed me idol, and after mic drop I had to learn everything about them lol. I would show my kids pictures of BTS and have them try to name them, I told them all the little facts I knew, & finally after 6 months of me stanning them, my kids all got into them as well and it's awesome. I took my middle kid with me to see BTS in LA last Dec, (& now all my kids will be joining me to see Ateez in Nov!) I'm still working on getting my friends into them or kpop in general even, but adults my age can be so close minded, especially my male friends. (I'm turning 50 in Nov) 🙄 But we did manage to get a couple of them to come around haha. 💜

I am going to see Ateez in November also. My first Kpop concert. I couldn't get BTS tickets last year couldn't even get in the lottery to get them. I was so sad. I am 57 years old and fell hard into the rabbit hole in late 2019.

We had the presale because my daughter had a ticket to see them for the mots7 your but since covid cancelled it she got 1st pick for ptd. Seats were selling out AS we were trying to click to buy them. We literally saw seats disappear before our eyes. We didn't get seats together, our friend (who is 77!) Sat apart from us and my kids was supposed to sit elsewhere but the person next to me never showed up so we could sit together at least. Worth it though, I hope you get the chance to see them. We are going to see Ateez in Phoenix. You'll have a blast! Kpop concerts are vastly different from western ones. So high energy, seeing them dance so intensely! And they sound even better live. And the crowd participation, fan chants etc make it an amazing performance. I hope you have a blast! 💜

I'm pretty sure Suga doesn't drop his "real" mic. At some point towards the end of the song, he is handed a fake microphone to drop. There's even a live performance where he only had his actual mic so he gently laid it down on the stage as they walked off. 😊

Yeah, the one he drops is usually a flat black, it’s not the chromed/rhinestoned one he usually uses.
It's been commonly talked about in the ARMY community, but it was recently confirmed by Charlie Puth that Jungkook also has perfect pitch. It's like his vocal chords have muscle memory for the notes and he just finds them effortlessly. Watching him sing Still With You acapella over vLive to Army is one of my favorite things ever, since that song has so many jumps and intricate melody shifts. He's truly a one in a million talent.
I think he has perfect pitch too & completely agree with this but he also practices his butt off. He is always staying behind by himself practicing longer. He is a perfectionist. They all work really hard but I think he goes overboard on the vocal practice. The other members have also said he knows everyone’s parts not just his own. There’s been clips of other members asking him about their own lyrics before a performance.
The SNL performance of this song was my first introduction to BTS. You should watch it!! My eyes imidiatly went to j-hope, and you'll see why when you watch it. He stood out big time

OMG, I LOVE the Tiny Tans! They have so many songs, and they're all cute as can be. "Mic Drop" is awesome, and it's hard to say which version is my favorite. I might have to give the Steve Aoki version the nod, though - that man is amazing.

The lyric video you just watched of Mic Drop had a lot of the lyrics translated wrong. The actual MV (which is a Steve Aoki remix) has English subs in it. I liked both versions of MiC Drop and it is actually the first song that got me hooked on BTS back in 2017. It was when they performed it on The Ellen Show.

Tiny Tans are the most adorable thing right?? The way BTS see themselves as little elves or helpers that want to show up and encourage and help Army, who is a tired and hard working mid 20s woman is just, so damn endearing. Mic Drop is such a power song.
I started my BTS journey with Black Swan on the Late Late Show, so watching Mic Drop soon after was jaw dropping . I was like: what did i watch just now 😄. Down the rabbit hole i went 😉.

The remix has a lot more English in it, that’s the big difference. And it’s my favorite version & this is a all time top BTS song for me.

In the first live show, I love it that Suga changed the flows in his rap and stopped at the middle of rapping to prove that he's not lip syncing as they were always bashed about it. That's clearly a mic drop to those haters 🤭

this is performed at a concert but in more serious awards show like MAMA and MMA they more formal and clean dance moves etc especially music shows 1 week after their album drops, they are alot more serious but you noticed in world tours they have more fun and is more carefree and suga during this period always purposely not rap a few lines because he was kind of mad of the haters keep saying they lip sync so he show they are not lol so savage. Even now when they perform suga do this just as a habbit just a fun thing to remember
There's one performance where Suga stopped rapping just to show the haters that they don't lipsync. It was cool to watch it. And Suga change it to a fake mic before tossing it. I have watched a video where the other members hand him a fake mic.
You finally got to Mic Drop! This is the one that started my dive into the rabbit hole, so I do have a certain fondness for it.
Mic Drop performances have been bespoke based on their audience + the stage [concerts, SNL, MAMA, etc.], they'll use different languages [Korean, Japanese, English], include a dance break [sometimes an extended dance break], sometimes include back up dancers [a lot of dancers!]. The gist of the song is basically the same but you're starting to listen to more of their discography, so you'll be able to differentiate between Korean lyrics and Japanese lyrics soon enough.
The remix was the 2nd or 3rd song I heard by BTS and what led me down the rabbit hole. This song had me hooked.

so.. as a 3-month army.. it's time you learned the fan chants. many of the songs have their own fan chants, where the fans sing or shout parts of the song. these are released by big hit/hybe along with the comeback or release of the songs. First mic drop moment is when a teacher left the room and an immature boy, who used edge lord humor, said a very bad racist joke. Another boy who was a bit of Alpha Male type, who physically matured rapidly in height and muscle mass, heard the joke and went for the guy. The class was cheering the later on and wanted to see the guys fight. But the boy who said the racist joke had no chance with his height and physique. Plus the more physically mature boy had incidents with anger, I was scared that this boy would really hurt the first boy and anyone who came in later. So I ran and pushed my way in-between them. I was able to separate them and told them to stop, it wasn't worth it. I don't know how I did this, not only because I was a 5'2" shy girl. But at this point of my life, I had very low self esteem and was quiet because of ostracized bullying. When I talked, no one spoke or acknowledged it so I caved into myself. Why say anything if it wasn't useful, if people treat you as if your existence is nothing, you start to believe it. But in moments like this, I could voice out and physically take up space if someone else was in trouble. When I went to therapy, this moment is a crowning jewel for me.
Oh so good. For me the best live of this is their concert in Osaka 👌Steve Aoki has described BTS as “7 unicorns hopping around the world blessing everyone with their talent and magic “ . Enough said.

My mic drop moment came while singing karaoke 🎤 😄 I was at a small bar with friends in a college town and some of my female friends talked me into singing (after a few too many beers in) Anyways, I sang my song, I don't even remember what it was other than it was a country song. Maybe Blake Shelton. When I was done, I dropped the mic 🎤 because I killed it (in my mind at least 😆) The karaoke guy immediately starts berating me for dropping his equipment (rightfully so of course) but all my inebriated ass could think to say to him was, "Well, you probably shouldn't be handing it to drunks then" 😆🤣

Mic Drop is basically a diss track towards any of their haters in general, but the main underlying cause were some fans of other idol groups that were spewing hate towards them for no reason other than the possible threat of BTS invading their favorite bands' space. That is how it is in K-Pop, because there is such a great saturation of music labels & hundreds of music groups in such a small country, that fans feel threatened when a new group comes along (such as BTS) & other fandoms want to hate on them because one more additional band might mean less of a spotlight on their favorite bands that these fans had already invested time, money & emotion into them. It's not just that, but because of the culture & metrics imposed on idol bands, it becomes a more competitive spirit, to the point that the competition becomes too reactionary & aggressive as that fierce competition & jealousy spills into the different fanbases. Most notable of the competition are all the TV shows that start ranking & racing different KPop songs & each one wins by votes from the audience. Hope that makes sense. BTS Cyphers, on the other hand, are more of a diss towards other hiphop artists & rap fans that were thinking that BTS should not be hiphop artists because they became idols, as you probably already know. In summary, if this is your reaction video, then Mic Drop & Cyphers are a reaction audio, to their haters. Oh & I like the Aoki remix better. For one thing, Steve removed that gong-like timbre from the original. And yes, as someone already commented, that piano piece at the beginning of Tiny Tan is by Schubert (released in the early-mid 1800's), since that girl in the video plays western classical music as you can see from the sticky notes in the background.
Mic Drop is one of their great epic songs and also the hardest to perform, the hardest MV to film.. if you watch the behind the scene of Mic Drop MV they were almost crawling because of fatigue. Same with their MAMA performance and the fact they performed 2 or 3 more songs with it, they almost could not walk back to their seats after. They really go hard to give us the best experience in their performances, I salute them for that.
I’m a new subscriber and I’ve been enjoying your sincere reactions to BTS. I appreciate your emphasis on lyrics as that is the main reason I personally decided to dig deeper and have continued to support them. As a senior citizen I have seen many groups come and go. These guys are truly a unicorn in the music industry. I was listening again today to Suga’s “Interlude-Shadow”. There is a video but I believe the full song on MOTS-7 is longer. I really think you would enjoy it and appreciate the lyrics if you haven’t seen it already.

In 2014, fans were at LAX when they came for American Hustle Life. Everyone was shocked as it wasn't expected.
Fans recognized JHope while walking around in the US. He was so moved as he was not even recognized in his own country.
thanks for that reaction to all those mic drop. at 1st i wasn't going to watch because i don't usually watch reaction to just audio but i loved how did the different variety of the songs, some of them i hadn't viewed prior. just a fun fact one of the inspiration for the song was president obama;s last speech at he press corp dinner where he actually dropped the mic as he put 2 fingers to his lips & said "obama's out".

Tiny Tan is actually with me every day at work! I have the Mic Drop set on my monitor stand. 😂 And the Steve Aoike remix is my fav! It’s my hype song!
Fun fact: Suga exchanges to a fake mic offstage at some point in their live performances (since his rap part is done) and he dropped a fake mic at the end. The kicker is it's JIN that's actually hitting his real mic to make the sound. There's an awesome compilation video on channel All About BTS Jin showing this 💜😍

Loved this collection and your reaction to them. If you really focus on the Tiny Tan, they are in fact doing the correct choreo - so fab. Mike Drop will always be a classic I think. It's masterful, and also - great fun.
