I just bought this laptop today for US$ 865 with the exact same specs. Upgraded after 12 years of using my old but trusty Toshiba Satellite with the 1st Gen i5 processor and the difference is night and day. Looking forward to enjoying this in playing Battlefield 1 and all the latest games today!

Honestly in a lot of reviews i have seen the main complain is the rather low tdp the nitro series uses for their gpu´s and the small battery it has (tradeoff for having an additional 2.5" drivebay other lack). I´ve also read that it´s supposed to be noisy or runs to hot.
Well the battery isn´t great and the tdp is low compared to many others BUT, it´s fast for the money, offers 2 nvme + 2.5" drivebay it´s not noisy (unless you manually turn on max fan settings) neither does it run that hot (well within specs i´d say)
It´s a good laptop that works well as a mobile desktop replacement and all for a very competitive price (specially so when you add discount events like black friday)
I got myself the nitro 5 ryzen 7 5800h + rtx 3080 for 1400 euros, and i really enjoy it.
@@snakeplissken1754 i got 3070 version and tdb seems to be 100w. but when I play games like e.g. microsoft flight similator 2020, maximum gpu usage is like 50-60watt. and I got pretty low fps in mfs2020 especially in low alltitude flights over cities. do you have any Idea why it has so low electrical usage?
@@reckoner8210 My GPU usage usually sits at 100% unless CPU capped or cause of vsync/framelimiter.
So in some games that are badly optimized for multicore it might happen that 1 CPU core sits at 100% and prevents the GPU from working full time.
Same when I hit the fps limiter of 144 then it can still be that the GPU only sits at lower wattage as more power isn't required.
How many fps do you got and how is your CPU utilization?
I assume you play plugged in, not on battery, but you might check the energy plan and go with the fastest.

I recently lost my 5 tyr old i5 gtx980ti desk top setup , tower , monitor , keyboard , everything , due to flooding . I am seriously considering this laptop as a replacement.
An extra $200 will get me a 16g stick of ram and a 2tb hdd and the whole setup will still be less than half the price of a self built replacement desk top rig . It will handle all of my gaming and photo editing needs and I can grab a bigger monitor down the track if needed.
This is looking like a no brainer.

@@djmwalls samsung evo 980 ssd and for the ram look for ddr4 ram if that's the type of ram the laptop will come with. but if better go to a tech shop where the seller knows about laptops in order to buy ram which has the same speeds as the one that comes with the laptop. And also it has an had slot u can add a sata drive if u want
@@djmwalls the second slot of the sdd is kinda hard to see but if u open the laptop it will be on right side of the laptop u will a nail and the slot where it goes in. If u can't see it there many youtube videos that show people upgrading it and u will see

I do gaming mostly, audio editor.....and logo design.....the display is kinda dim ....but overall good at this price point....

@@mxrtina3846 Colors aren't great, but you can do editing stuff and it will be fine, but if you want a really good display, hook up an external monitor, but gaming would be fine on the built-in display.

I got one coming in a day, specs with a 144hz display, rtx 3060, i7-11800h 512gb ssd and 16gb of ram for about 850£ hopefully it'll be a great laptop !

Trust me with an rtx3050 and the same processor does wonders, I am afraid to think what happens with the rtx 3060...
how about thermals? mine its overheating at all times when gaming
@@jhoanzus3578 I actually had this problem with Halo Infinite. it is caused by 100% CPU usage (which is not normal for 11 gen)(30-48 fps)but after installing some Gcard updates (including bios), tweaking both nvidia and in-game settings i achieved 60-70 fps with medium high settings and 30% cpu usage.
can this be powered via the usb-c or must it use the dedicated power plug?

Glad to finally see a nice review about my machine (3050, i7 11800h, 24GB , 1TB SSD). I truly don't understand why are there so many negative reviews, complaining about latency, screen and build quality. Response time (the numbers realy look bad) is not an issue for me and the 3050 keeps stable 60-75 fps across different graphics heavy games which was a nice surprise. I fell in love with the keyboard and the layout (only the Nitro 5 button is a way TOO accessible).The screen is NOT good BUT it does the job. I hate bright screens and do all the video editing on my phone anyways :) There is an issue with the screen - it starts tearing after some time and everything goes back to normal after restart. I reinstalled the drivers BUT it didn't work. Would be grateful if someone has found a solution :)
Got acer nitro 5 with ryzen 5 5600h and rtx 3060 with 16gb ram and I believe it has the same 144hz ips screen if im not mistaken and im not having any screen tearing. It might be some driver or software issue. Maybe try contacting support? I've actually not noticed anything negative about the screen personally. I think the colors look fine for daily use and gaming. I game a lot on this laptop and am really a fan of the 144hz. The screen brightness is alright but will work for me. I think people are overexaggerating the screen issues such as the color issues but I don't even notice the color issues unless I put the screen side by side with another screen. Overall, It's a great laptop and I really like it. If you find a fix for this issue lmk so if I ever experience it I can find a fix. Thanks!
Maybe because acer uses different screen manufacturers in laptops with the same screen specs ( 1080p, 144p)
I had the same problem with screen( you didnt mentioned if you had a very small black dots on screen, while computer is ON), because mine had the dots. The solution was , to change the LcD matrica screen, and everything was fixed.

Iam not sure about this, but i though u used dual stick ram with different brand or model.
If you just use single ram, it can read 3200 mHz, neither if you use the same stick on your laptop, it can read until 3200mHz
@@genshininsufficientrewards533 acer default ram configuration is 1Rx16, if you install additional ram 1Rx8 then the speed will go down
