Adobe Illustrator - How I export a print-ready product label file

For exporting print ready files in Adobe Illustrator I will typically create outlines for all fonts. Then export with NO downsampling if possible.
Save .ai file first! Then after creating your print-ready .pdf file, DO NOT SAVE THE .ai FILE. You want to be able to go back into the .ai file whenever you want to make text changes.

Is there anyway you could help me with this?? I need one file put into Adobe illustrator with a specific format required by the printing company who is printing them for my small business. I am so lost!!
