Drugs and alcohol are rampant among gay men even to this day. The new drug addiction is steroids because so many try to live up to ridiculous standards.
But not for lesbians, right? That's called male sexuality.
A much needed discussion highlighting the dangers of drug use within our community...we need more of these types of podcasts on a wide array of issues!

Gentlemen, I am a middle aged gay man and a recovering alcoholic. I've never used any illicit drugs. I know tons of people who are former meth addicts and they talk all time about what the life was like. I have no conception and never felt comfortable about asking questions. Thanks for opening this up. I used alcohol to feel more comfortable around other men and then just was not able to regulate or stop. I know that meth is connected to intensifying sexual experiences but again have no idea how that works.

I dont smoke drink or do drugs , the word meth scares the shit out of me , I have seen people on it ,,and what it does ,,it made them insaine ,,,when I was 22 years old I used to go to the gay bars ,,in Detroit Mich , Knoxville Tennesse and Atlanta Ga , in fall of the year in 1992 , that summer I had gotton gonorrhea all I ever wanted was Love from just one person , I have always been very small framed , 6ft and body weight 145 ,150 I could never gain weight all my life , I was the 10th child my mother had she had TB,,active two years before I was borne and was put in hospital ,, this was 1958 , she had two miscarriages both boys ,,one at six months ,,my father was born in 1903 my mother in 1924,,,my father had gotten married as a young man and had seven children ,,and got divorced and then five years alone ,,he met my mother ,,,he was a very handsome single man about 40 year old my mother was 18 ,,my father had worked as a young man for my mothers family on a farm ,,and the strange thing is this my father tried to date my grandmother ,, she was borne in 1899 and him in 1903 ,, and my grand mother said to my father ,, I am to old for you some day I will have a daughter and you can marry her ,, my father moved away to the next county and got married and raised his family and got divorced ,, and was alone for five years ,, and was working his and my older half brother laying stone on a school ,, when my mother and her sister came walking by and she was a beautiful young woman and my father was single and asked her her name and when she told him he said I know your father and mother ,,I have not seen them in many years ,, that evening my father went to see my mothers parents who he had known as a young man ,, and so it came to pass my grand mother did in fact have a daughter and my father married her and had eight children and two died ,,I am the last of both families born on the very night that east and west Germany rolled out the birbe wire to start the construction of the Berlin wall I was borne that sunday August 13th 1961,,just before noon,,east and west Germany had ben seprated while my mother gave birth to me ,,,I never in all my life did drugs ,,my family did not go to church but read the bible at home and listen to gospel music ,,we lived in a house that was built by a black woman and her husband built from trees taken from the forest ,, it only had three rooms ,,all my family were brick layers my father was a coal miner and brick layer and stone mason ,, and a wonderful man and my mother was wonderful women ,, my half brothers drink and two of my whole brothers drank ,,my father died in 1975 I was 13 ,, I raised my self ,,I am Christian still yet and I have never did drugs and never will ,,I dont understand why people would want to do drugs ,, but I am a artist and musicain ,,
Mind alteration is kinda useful for creative endeavors. I would suggestie to never do alcohol but you can so the other drugs if you don't overuse them and maybe do some sory of ritual eveeytime you do it. Clean yourself before hand and such. Cannabis is a very good drug to become more consious and aware about whatever you have in front of you, so also creative endeavors.

I lost my family because of my addiction hope no one has to lose there family because of an addiction I take full responsibility for my actions and the things I've done though
I love the idea of orally microdosing meth as a treatment for adhd, but I've never bumped into it on my travels. It is interesting to hear peoples experiences, and I was not aware meth was a big thing in gay scene until watching a chemsex doc and was like whoa, that seems like it could be an issue for a lot of people where they've linked hardcore drug use to sex in the same way as some people link alcohol to social cohesion, risky...
02:15 You probably mean a 'teenth' as in a '16th' or 'half of an 8th of an ounce'. I've heard it used in relation to weight as regards H but regardless of the substance, a half 8th is typically a 'teenth' due to the fraction of 1/16th more so than 'teen' as in 'teenager' - at least in how Ive heard it being used. Might be different in the gay meth scene as opposed the H scene. I suppose it depends on the slang in pertinace to the local also.
Tina. It's a nick name. Like how heroin is called Boi, or dog food. Some might called a 1/16 "teenth" also tho said like " a teener" would mean it's a 1/16 of crystal.

I'm straight and in recovery and I am hated by gay men and women in their recovery groups in AA.
Why is being gay called a community. In AA no one is supposed to be excluded. The gay people. Not all of them.
have issues with straight people who have absolutely nothing against them and are there just because of alcoholism. Some gay people are totally bad minded towards the straight community. And some gay people also hate other gay people because they say they are too camp.
It's turned me off helping gay people in AA.
This is a big problem in recovery.
Maybe because gay people have been so hated and unaccepted and abused by others. But I liked the gay people but some didn't like me some hate me and for what. You are hated if you don't like gays and hated if you like them.

Honestly you’re better off. They don’t want to be judged and you’re not allowed to anymore, yet many are judging to others. This used to not be the case but many of these “new identities” have polluted the community in recent years. The media pushes this agenda as well.
Also many of them obviously have addiction issues and mental traumas, identity issues, personality disorders and so on. Just try to avoid people that are toxic to themselves or a danger to your own mental and addiction disorders.
I'd say you'd almost have to be high on drugs to cope with this crazy behavior

I come to this a year after it posted, so you’ll likely not see this comment. My story also is only tangential to this fascinating and sometimes harrowing conversation. My contact with meth was in mid ‘80s L.A. A close friend invited me to parties he threw at his apartment every weekend. He’d go to his favorite bar on Friday night, recruit guests, then return to play non-stop video porn while regularly tweeking attendees from his own supply. This would last until Saturday evening when a friend remained to look after remaining guests while he recruited more at the bar. The party would then continue until Sunday evening when he’d graciously usher out his guests, take a massive hit of Nyquil and return to work Monday morning only to relaunch the party the next Friday. I’d accept one tweek for every two or three the others took. My only memory of its effects were dry mouth and teeth grinding. Since my friend’s passing in 1988, I’ve never felt the need or had occasion to use.

The chances are dependent upon your personality and self control. Some can use drugs and alcohol even tobacco very occasionally. Some can live life without dependence issues just fine, others will cave when temptation leads to addiction through frequent use.
Crystal is different for everyone and has almost no chance for physical addiction like other chemicals have, but it can be psychologically addictive when not responsible and the chance for that addiction is high, more so when attached with sex for added pleasure. And before you know it, it’s in control of you and as you know that is a hard road.
Also, it’s not long when the habit is daily that this effect wears off as opposed to using occasionally, the tolerance builds and you get used to the drug and it will start to not be stimulating and more a vice to cope with not having life without it, sex drive suffers and seeking it instead becomes the drive.
When people binge for fun with no tolerance it will be fun at first, you’ll think everything is now amazing and stay up for days doing tweeter things, not eating much at all until you crash. Then sleep for a day and eat recuperating. Sniffing is the best kick but it burns so many smoke which I think is wasteful and you have to know what you’re doing either way. You can eat it like adderall too but it’s harder to dose this way. Do not shoot it, never shoot any drug. Females get off more shooting, but that’s what ruins your teeth and gives “meth mouth”.
Smoking seems to have more effect on sexual desire, but at any rate it’s easy to lose track of time so use in a safe space just in case. Without a partner you may find an impulse to watch porn and hours fly by as you watch anything and everything lol.
Just be responsible and only from someone that is trusted for a good source. You don’t want it cut with fent or this stuff that’s getting people all messed up lately and very very addictive and deadly. It’s almost impossible to find real heroin anymore, the new synth pills and dope and cuts even in coke and meth are no joking matter.

Hm. I have a thing for men and my T levels are perfectly fine. As far as I know, testosterone influences temper, likability for risk-taking, libido, secondary gender characteristics, and the cardiovascular system.
