You know your life's messed up, when a literal asassin is a better father figure than your actual father. At least Simon got closure against the person that caused him so much pain, and Dane is still doing time for his crimes
In the end Simon had a flawless victory even when he's in jail. Managed to get the people that ruined his life, he actually saved a country despite that isn't his intentions, and best of all he has a real father with him at his jail cell Dogen.
I love how its clear that at least Money forgives Simon. And Regina letting Simon continue his work cause he never actually abused the animals is so heartwarming.

Im pretty sure that money forgiving simon was because most of simon's sprites have animals involved in them, so like, it would be a problem to have the animals permanently hate simon.

I have to say seeing Simon get scared shitless when Blaise stepped into their conversation was interesting and entertaining to see and how Dogen stepped in to get Blaise to back off, shows he really cares about Simon. Nice of Regina to give Simon a second chance in a way
Oh yeah, I mean as badass as he acted, I'm sure Simon had tons of PTSD thanks to Blaise (as he had said, he couldn't sleep properly for years because of the fear of being pursued by Blaise's henchmen).
The thing is, even if he tries to act like it, Simon never really got the chance to mature due to his upbringing. He was honestly a huge coward who was hiding behind false bravado to cover up his fears and insecurities. I have no doubt seeing Blaine face-to-face again would terrify him.
I fucking love this. I think Fan service is the correct word, and i love this type of videos where a character meets/talks with another character which they never talked to eachother in the original game.
FYI, you are correct. If Simon Keyes was not kidnapped by Horace Knightley and abandoned by Dane Gustavia back in 2000, the entire Story of Investigations 2 would have never happened or at least changed almost completely because the SS-5 Incident still happened. Plus, Dane Gustavia was the only one that was not on Simon Keyes' Revenge List but was the one who caused his miserable life in the first place. Another reason may be Simon Keyes didn't know who his father looks like in 2019, but I thought that he would have recognized sooner as soon as he arrived in prison and saw Dane Gustavia.
Literally every part of this kept me watching. From seeing previous culprits interacting with each other, Keyes and Gustavia connecting the dots on each other’s identities, the ruthless back and forth between them, Blaise showing up and stunning both father and son into silence upon overhearing the conversation, and Dogen showing up to protect Simon. Everything was completely on point. Great work.
Damn this was great, Sirhan Dogen becoming Simon's father figure and backing him up is quite the nice scene. Simon and Gustavia went as expected, overall this was an excellent piece of work, looking forward to more! P.S: (I'm hoping that we get Investigations 2 officially translated eventually at some point.)

Okay, time for a serious reply to this. There's plenty of more, behavioural and non-visual evidence that shows Simon doesn't abuse the animals and the only reason they beat him up at the end was because they felt betrayed of how he actually saw all of them as tools instead of friends. Otherwise, there's no explanation on why they didn't beat him up before they learnt he was an unrepentant mastermind.
Why almost all the contract killers in the Ace Attorney universe feel like people you will had a good time with as long as you're not on the other side of their knife?
...and that's the point but they are still killers though. If they are unapproachable, then how will they gain clients? With that said, you still have to be careful with them. Just ask Shelly De Killer... Who got backstabbed by Matt Engarde and could've put him into danger by Simon Keyes here who omitted details. Both of them would've died had they not pleased guilty or been saved by Dogen respectively.
That's the fabulous moment when family's confilct is turning into talent contest and then to something similar to the Indian drama. Well done! Always thought how all of them would live together in one prison.

This was totally worth the wait! Even though it's subtle, I can see Simon's pain as he realizes his father won't accept him, and feeling cornered again by Blaise. It's actually a really sad set of circumstances. Even though Simon is not a good guy and went down a dark path, his character is so well written that I can't help but feel bad for him. And that's what makes the ending to investigations 2 so well done in that it makes sure the players understand that Simon was a cornered victim who had no choice but to embrace the darkness. This is so well done and hits home watching it! Great video man! I look forward to seeing more of your talented work!

Really spectacular video! Simon is my favorite culprit, so Im glad that this idea got the most votes :) And he definitely deserves better. AAI2 parents are interesting, like they can be amazing (Gregory Edgeworth and Jeff Master) or the most terrible people people (Dane Gustavia, Issac Dover, and Blaise Debeste). I loved how Dogen never was once angry against Simon despite the fact he put blood on his hands. He just asked him to come with him in his "home". Considering Dogen’s role in the prison, he will sure be his pupil. Even if he’s an unforgivable culprit who did awful things, i understood his motive. In a way, even if it was his choice to become a criminal, he was just a victim of his and Knightley’s parents.
Wow. You really outdid yourself this time. You just helped the Ace Attorney Community by filling up the gap and proving that it is possible to do it. As for your mistakes, you managed to stick to the main plot as much as possible, so the so called "Reunion" was meant to be a lot bitter than Godot's cofee. Thus, you did not make much mistakes, from my perspective.

@@debastiansebeste The writers start with a skeleton: a blueprint of the tricks and reveals and work to build the case and dialogue around those. You have a genuinely great feel for the characters, so you'll have very little trouble fleshing that skeleton out, assuming, of course, that you start with the bones.
Also sorry if this sounds too morbid, but imagine if offscreen after the video ends Anubis rips out Blaise Debeste's throat and no-one in the prison cared, especially if some of them were in there because of Blaise Debeste getting them sentenced to life in prison as well. Blaise Debeste I feel would have made the Dark Age of the Law Even Darker if he remained as the Chairman of the PIC. It's a good thing Miles Edgeworth got him overthrown and also sentenced for trying to obstruct justice in Patricia Roland's trial for the murder of Horace Knightley.

Soooo glad I finally finished investigations 2 to watch this! I really love how you write tye characters, and that you added the other prisoners to add atmosphere. You really know how to make the characters feel alive- you kept the balance between Simon being a victim and still a bad person who with a small hope for redemption. Great work as always!

This was cool. Seeing nearly all the prisoners from each case that happened across the games, the destest from Simon and Gustavia was very interesting.
Another outstanding video I also like that there are other characters like blaise and portsman dane and simon's going back in forth with insults was fantastic(exactly what I thought would happen) And ofc dogen and simon relationship-beautiful Cant wait for another video So what is next on the list?

This summer I’ve been drained with volunteer work, so I decided to take a chance and play the AAI2 fan-translation and spark my fixation on AA again (I even watched the official AAI2 trailer on my way home when it came out, lmao). After playing peak, I of course looked for fan content online. Aside from fantastic fanart and fics, I found this channel. I haven’t watched everything (sorry lol) but, so far this is great. I comment here instead of your newest because it’s my favorite video of yours because...The quality? The fan-sprites? The voice lines?? 2:04 - 2:14 being so sweet?? The interactions?? 7:26 It can’t be an AAI2 video here without a mentioning fatherhood/the prodigal son... What I mean to say is that this is amazing collaborative community work. And this has somehow become a comfort video after a hard day. It’s scripted in a very sincere way; the pacing feels a lot like the games (with the text colors and sound effects); it keeps in mind of details such as everyone’s speech mannerisms and Simon’s sympathetic circumstances but dangerous nature... Simply too good. Thank you. I hope you rest easy knowing you made at the very least, one stranger happy. And poor Portsman, trying to be a good sport there... 🤭

Dane is so full of himself but unlike Simon, he didn’t do shit, to be honest. Even if Dover was a greedy piece of shit for what he did to his son, at the very least, he was the real one with talent in pastry despite only being a sculptor. Gustavia didn’t even planned to kill him, it was an impulsive act resulting to a murder. He was just lucky Von Karma took the case as he tampered with the case as the body was never found. Without him and in a way, Kate’s tampering trick, he would be in jail. Simon, him, didn’t only found a better father figure but he almost committed the most perfect crime, killing or framing every pawns that ruined his life and Dogen in a very elaborate revenge. And all that by playing the role of the clown. Simon is a far more better villain than Dane and a really good Mastermind.

Hey Debastian Sebeste, since the Original Phoenix Wright games never had a jury decide the defendant's fate. I think it would be cool to see you do a few "If Phoenix Wright Had to Fight the Jury" videos Imagine if he had to do that for Miles Edgeworth's Trial for the Murder of Gourd Lake with the Photograph and the missing third bullet and gunshot before midnight or DL6 when no other bullet was found from the elevator scene, or Matt Engarde's Trial especially when the Fingerprints and Button were found on his person and the Nickel Samurai Photo was submitted, and Especially when the Suicide Note is first found. It would be kind of similar to how Ryunosuke Naruhodo had to fight the Jury when they felt they have heard enough to decide their verdicts and he proves them wrong again and again in the Great Ace Attorney games.

Yeah I chose it on purpose, for 2 reasons: 1) I'm insanely obsessed with it xD 2) I felt it sort of suited a back-and-forth argument like the one Simon and Gustavia had (that's my personal preference of course, doesn't mean I'm right)

Great video, but the inclusion of Diego is something i don't quite get. It's pretty cool, don't get me wrong, but it is implied that Diego took his own life shortly after he got behind bars, as he is shown with Mia and the other dead people

Shuuji Orinaka* punching Frank was hilarious 😂 Well, honestly he is my least favourite villain in the Trilogy because he lacks personality. Every other killer did have some kind of character trait that made them special. From tragic connections to the case, self-defense, evil masterminds, killing the wring person, goofballs - we had it all. Even Dahlia, who is just the worst being on Earth, was well written because hating her is a passion 😂 Imagine Edgeworth encountered "Mr. Osaka cliché" Furio Tigre, "Ace Detective" Luke Atmey or "Best Japanese Student" Richard Wellington in "The Imprisoned Turnabout"... 😁 Come to think of it, if Richard Wellington wasn't introduced in JFA but in case 3-3, he would make a great accomplice for Furio Tigre. People confused Furio with Phoenix just because of his hair, imagine the confusion with Wellington's suit. 😂 * I'll always stick to the Japanese Names in AAI2 and both DGS games, including calling Sherlock Holmes by his real name and even referring to "L.A." as Yokohama because even though the Japanese City in the present wasn't specified, in Dai Gyakuten Saiban it was confirmed the cases in Japan took place in Yokohama. 😊

@@debastiansebesteThis was an insanely good video. First off, the visuals are amazing, and visuals are like 50% of what makes Ace Attorney great. (or 80% of it, in Blaise Debeste's case). The sprites have an incredible charm that written stories can't replicate. Extra praise for the HD AAI2 sprites, everything is just really well done. As a huge Blaise and Gustavia fan, I adored every moment of their interactions. In some Simon centered stories their personalities tend to be brushed over, but in this video they're very entertaining and faithful. It's very easy to feel like each one of them has a mind and a story of their own before the scene takes place. Even Jay Elbird and Frank Sahwit lol. I hope you get to write them more in the future, especially with villain x villain interactions like this, since they're characters that don't get much focus on the fandom and you're able to replicate so well what made me fall in love them.

The problem would be the names changing in an official translation. I can't think of most of these characters with other names.
Simon is also an amazing villian. He had a good motive for mastermind the case and honestly despite his horrible acts all I feel is pity for him.

To be absolutely fair, the Investigations 2 game did name Gustavia's health condition as "ageusia", I didn't use the word out of nowhere xD

This was totally worth the wait! Even though it's subtle, I can see Simon's pain as he realizes his father won't accept him, and feeling cornered again by Blaise. It's actually a really sad set of circumstances. Even though Simon is not a good guy and went down a dark path, his character is so well written that I can't help but feel bad for him. And that's what makes the ending to investigations 2 so well done in that it makes sure the players understand that Simon was a cornered victim who had no choice but to embrace the darkness. This is so well done and hits home watching it! Great video man! I look forward to seeing more of your talented work!

Really spectacular video! Simon is my favorite culprit, so Im glad that this idea got the most votes :) And he definitely deserves better.
AAI2 parents are interesting, like they can be amazing (Gregory Edgeworth and Jeff Master) or the most terrible people people (Dane Gustavia, Issac Dover, and Blaise Debeste). Literally an assassin is a better father figure to Simon than his actual father. Loved Dogen showing up at the end, they literally have a healthier familial relationship.

I loved how Dogen never was once angry against Simon despite the fact he put blood on his hands.
He just asked him to come with him in his "home".
Considering Dogen’s role in the prison, he will sure be his pupil.
Even if he’s an unforgivable culprit who did awful things, i understood his motive.
In a way, even if it was his choice to become a criminal, he was just a victim of his and Knightley’s parents.
So much linked criminals in one location. I wouldn't be surprised if one day, a crime occurs here. Great work as usual!

@@debastiansebeste The writers start with a skeleton: a blueprint of the tricks and reveals and work to build the case and dialogue around those. You have a genuinely great feel for the characters, so you'll have very little trouble fleshing that skeleton out, assuming, of course, that you start with the bones.
Also sorry if this sounds too morbid, but imagine if offscreen after the video ends Anubis rips out Blaise Debeste's throat and no-one in the prison cared, especially if some of them were in there because of Blaise Debeste getting them sentenced to life in prison as well.
Blaise Debeste I feel would have made the Dark Age of the Law Even Darker if he remained as the Chairman of the PIC. It's a good thing Miles Edgeworth got him overthrown and also sentenced for trying to obstruct justice in Patricia Roland's trial for the murder of Horace Knightley.
The only thing I disliked in this vid is the fact that Sebastian was behind bars in the intro lmao the rest is absolute GOLD

This summer I’ve been drained with volunteer work, so I decided to take a chance and play the AAI2 fan-translation and spark my fixation on AA again (I even watched the official AAI2 trailer on my way home when it came out, lmao). After playing peak, I of course looked for fan content online. Aside from fantastic fanart and fics, I found this channel. I haven’t watched everything (sorry lol) but, so far this is great. I comment here instead of your newest because it’s my favorite video of yours because...The quality? The fan-sprites? The voice lines?? 2:04 - 2:14 being so sweet?? The interactions?? 7:26 It can’t be an AAI2 video here without a mentioning fatherhood/the prodigal son...
What I mean to say is that this is amazing collaborative community work. And this has somehow become a comfort video after a hard day. It’s scripted in a very sincere way; the pacing feels a lot like the games (with the text colors and sound effects); it keeps in mind of details such as everyone’s speech mannerisms and Simon’s sympathetic circumstances but dangerous nature... Simply too good. Thank you. I hope you rest easy knowing you made at the very least, one stranger happy.

Dane is so full of himself but unlike Simon, he didn’t do shit, to be honest.
Even if Dover was a greedy piece of shit for what he did to his son, at the very least, he was the real one with talent in pastry despite only being a sculptor.
Gustavia didn’t even planned to kill him, it was an impulsive act resulting to a murder.
He was just lucky Von Karma took the case as he tampered with the case as the body was never found.
Without him and in a way, Kate’s tampering trick, he would be in jail.
Simon, him, didn’t only found a better father figure but he almost committed the most perfect crime, killing or framing every pawns that ruined his life and Dogen in a very elaborate revenge.
And all that by playing the role of the clown.
Simon is a far more better villain than Dane and a really good Mastermind.

Hey Debastian Sebeste, since the Original Phoenix Wright games never had a jury decide the defendant's fate. I think it would be cool to see you do a few "If Phoenix Wright Had to Fight the Jury" videos Imagine if he had to do that for Miles Edgeworth's Trial for the Murder of Gourd Lake with the Photograph and the missing third bullet and gunshot before midnight or DL6 when no other bullet was found from the elevator scene, or Matt Engarde's Trial especially when the Fingerprints and Button were found on his person and the Nickel Samurai Photo was submitted, and Especially when the Suicide Note is first found.
It would be kind of similar to how Ryunosuke Naruhodo had to fight the Jury when they felt they have heard enough to decide their verdicts and he proves them wrong again and again in the Great Ace Attorney games.

Yeah I chose it on purpose, for 2 reasons:
1) I'm insanely obsessed with it xD
2) I felt it sort of suited a back-and-forth argument like the one Simon and Gustavia had (that's my personal preference of course, doesn't mean I'm right)

Every other killer did have some kind of character trait that made them special. @@debastiansebesteThis was an insanely good video. First off, the visuals are amazing, and visuals are like 50% of what makes Ace Attorney great. (or 80% of it, in Blaise Debeste's case). The sprites have an incredible charm that written stories can't replicate. Extra praise for the HD AAI2 sprites, everything is just really well done.
As a huge Blaise and Gustavia fan, I adored every moment of their interactions. In some Simon centered stories their personalities tend to be brushed over, but in this video they're very entertaining and faithful. It's very easy to feel like each one of them has a mind and a story of their own before the scene takes place. Even Jay Elbird and Frank Sahwit lol. I hope you get to write them more in the future, especially with villain x villain interactions like this, since they're characters that don't get much focus on the fandom and you're able to replicate so well what made me fall in love them.
